    They warn you about bigger borg warner turbos on the other kits, but I guess they dont offer a borg warner kit for the s55 is because they dont fit

    You mentioned that you think the IRP shifter would be too intense for the F80. Curious why? I’ve been looking at the RTD vs IRP for my F80, because the CAE is a little expensive. How do you feel about the difference between the two? Looking for intense shifts but I don’t know how the F80 trans tunnel would handle drilling and shifter support for the IRP

    • @Sideways_N55
      @Sideways_N55  5 месяцев назад +1

      Irp is super tight, it’s more rigid, but in a bad way. Actually going to take it off drift car when I go through the car again lol I think RTD shifter is intense and great feeling and feedback.

    • @mon3yshift
      @mon3yshift 5 месяцев назад +1

      Oh wow lol. That’s a strong review. Sucks cause I really like the IRP look and design. Have you tried the CAE? Will you be going for the RTD in the drift car? Sorry for all the questions but I appreciate your expertise and experience with this. This car and build has become my new financially irresponsible inspiration.

      @@mon3yshiftNever tried CAE, but for the money think RTD is still worth it. Yeah going to see when RTD has a sale to buy drift car one. You won’t be disappointed it’s great design.

      Man I really appreciate it. Last question, on the CAE that there are individual gate adjusting screws (for gates 1/2, 5/6, and R). This seems to cause issue with alignment during install where precision is required to avoid grinding during gear selection, and to even be able to fully engage each gear. Other than the dssr adjustment, how do you ensure correct “horizontal center” during install to guarantee the shifter slots into 1/2, 5/6, and R perfectly? Did you need to adjust anything and how did you achieve that or did you just tighten the plates, adjust the position with the dssr, and each gear + R engaged perfectly?

    what spring do you have in your wastegate? Random question but if you're using a mac solenoid, are the extra bottom and top ports both plugged? (only one vs racing gen 3 wastegate set up)

    • @Sideways_N55
      @Sideways_N55  Год назад

      Vs racing includes an 8 and 5, so 13psi combined. But need to get larger spring to meet power goals, think I can use tial springs but have to confirm.
      Yeah so to my understanding there are 4 ports but you only need 1 on lower and 1 on upper, and block off the other 2. So yes they are plugged.

    • @EricShoots
      @EricShoots Год назад

      @@Sideways_N55 did you plug all un used ports on wastegate top hat for vacuum lines? Going through this now, you need to buy vs racings wastegate springs only. Others don’t fit.

      @@Sideways_N55 gotcha thanks man, yeah I purchased the 18psi spring off VS racing’s website. It’s impossible to get the spring in with the wastegate mounted on the the manifold and just taking off the top hat. Def regret not doing this beforehand with the kit off the car 💩

      @@Sideways_N55 Got mine 300mm and installed today, love it. NVH increased a little, mainly in low rpm low load, engine sound/transmission sound passed thru from the front console but not too bad. No vibration at all. I'm using Rogue Engineering trans mount. I guess it's the hardest rubber mount I can find instead of doing poly mount, that will make NVH get annoying. Also I hope RTD can make an extended shaft option so that length can be switchable. Anyway, it's definitely an awesome shifter.
