Soon to be 85, it's a pleasure listening to Slim Whitman now just as I did during the late 1940's and 1950's. A great singing voice with beautiful music, as well. THanks to the uploaders for these.
I’m not a weirdo folks trust me, I just love this man dearly, I know I’m on here a lot, but I’ve followed this incredible man from when I was 18 years old , but I’m know 71, & he still gives me goosebumps, I have all his LPs loads of them in my loft, met him twice in our uk, still playing him my every day life, he was my most inspiration & best voice that iv ever heard, you were truly special, what a gifted voice you had, god bless my slim Whitman, 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️
Slim's Rose Marie was a hit in England in the 1950s. Around the mid 1960s it was forgotten. In some strange town I stopped for a coffee in a cafe. I played Slim's Rose Marie on the juke box. Two teen age girls came over & asked me. " What was that song that you just played " I told them & they played it
HOW DID I EVER NOT HEAR THIS GUY SING BEFORE. WHAT A GREAT VOICE I'M 85 YEARS YOUNG AND I CANT BELIEVE I MISSED SLIM ALONG THE WAY I GUESS IT'S NEVER TO LATE TO ENJOY WHAT YOU MISSED IN LIFE
Dino Vinciguerra . I got the opprtunity to speak my favorite country singer after several concerts in England on Spring tour 1990, Whitsun 1993 and at his farwell tour on October 3rd 2002 in Eastbourne. We went there with about 72 people from Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. I've joined membership of SWAS Grest Britain 1996-2000, SWAS Holland 1989-2003. Since last week I am 67. Greetings, Frans van Zuiden.
One of my biggest regrets in life is the fact I never heard of Slim Whitman untill two years ago and I have been in bands and on the road for some 57 years. The man was a one off a musical genius I can never be tired of listening to his renditions and when I need to find some comfort in daily living I turn to him. He is for me an inspiration. R.I.P Slim .
I’ve been a huge fan since the 60’s. Absolutely love SW. Saw him live, shook his hand, visited Woodpecker Paradise, have the autographs the memories and every record Slim ever made. Now have another appreciative and dedicated fan in the fold. Nothing could make me happier. Welcome to the club friend.❤
He had an amazing voice. At first glance, he looks like he could be a rough kind of guy but he was such a modest gentleman. I am so glad I came across a rerun of the Andy Kauffman show where Slim was invited to sing. I never heard of him before that.
I listened to these 78's, when i was pre-school, on an old wind-up player. I always wondered what these "Stars" looked like. Thank you ChorltonPetet. :D
My name's Rosemary, not Rosemarie but one of my first memories is of sitting on my dad's knee while he sang this to me, usually when he'd had a few lol
What A Shame He Was'nt Recognised As The Superstar That He Was, In His Own Country. And Had To Come To Europe. Even More So Now With The Trash Coming Out Of Nashville Now.
And forgotten in the USA. Jimi Hendrix and many Americans had to go elsewhere to get famous. That tells you alot about your own country for some of these artists. Slim had so many hits..and even the Beatles did his stuff before they were famous.
I was 16 when I met slim at the empires in Glasgow and Edinburgh it was a pleasure, and slim an I met obtain.I also acted as USA correspondent to slim, and wolf Carter, plus yodelling slim Clark Hank snow, and Australia’s slim dusty, plus many other great country stars.it gives me pleasure and I am still active, and now aged 80.slim Whitman was the finest singer, and thanks to u tube,he will remain so for years after even I have gone. keep slims music and song going on,,as slim did not get the full credits he should have received. Britain should have got slim an award from our royalty. etc. yours sincerely.ronnie.

Me too.
Mine too. He died in 1977. Slim Whitman was his hero. He was mine.

Him and Jim Reeves the best two singers in the last century . Pure natural talent .

Hi try Paul Hazell's World of Country page on Facebook, if any one knows Les Dawson, he will Good Luck
Lipp sync at its worst but still a great voice .
His heart was just not in that one. He was ready for a drink or a nap.
