    Now that my friend is a clean motor coach!! I love it. This is Tim from South Jersey. I operate a tractor trailer but hope to have the pleasure of driving a NJ motor coach one day. Maybe when I retire from trucking.

      I was wondering about that too. I have a 2003/2004 D4500 formerly of Metro Transit of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota. My left arm control panels are the same as this 2016 or 2017 unit. Howbeit I’m not even surprised that MCI would cut-it-up-like-that for their tested, true and tried loyal clientele. MCI has spearheaded original inspirational concepts from the NJ Transit/PABT alone, while the rest of the country and world benefited. The northeast is boot camp testing grounds for new innovation coach concepts just like Michigan Highway Patrol is for police cars. To be honest though I’d probably like my contrasting metal switches better than the black plastic switches and panel background.

    Actually, I think the 7100s with lavs will go first because they have used their useful life because they have over one million miles. Egg Harbor is getting theirs first, which includes lavs that will split with Meadowlands, then Meadowlands will get their share of buses while keeping the non lav 9000s and 7100s.

      +Creighton Rabs Hello. Thanks for checking out the video. Word on the street says no buses in this order will have lavatory. But I cannot confirm this. If anyone else knows for sure feel free to comment.

      The only route that NJT runs with lav coaches is the 319, Cape May-AC-NYC. They are said to be getting 60 lav buses. But some private carrier companies have lav coaches, such as Trans-Bridge and Academy, but they have enough of their own buses with lavs they can so use.

    I wonder how much money NJ Transit would accept for one of its 2001-3 MCI D4000/4500’s during retirement. Also, I saw an MCI D4000 in Academy’s old paint job in the yard near Highlands NJ.

      GOOD QUESTION. NOT SURE WHAT GARAGE GETS THEM FIRST OR HOW MANY EACH GARAGE WILL HAVE, AND ALSO DONT KNOW WHICH MCI D4500'S WILL STAY IN SERVICE UNTIL THE 2 PART OF THE ORDER GETS DELIVERED.

    Why does the state supply buses to the private carriers?

    • @BusTVChan
      @BusTVChan  5 лет назад +1

      in NJ if you have money already, you are handed stuff, on the contrary have no money? you buy a bus on your own. WHY? Beacuse, well, thats why. if you want a tax payer funded bus for free let me know tho, as long as you got stops in jersey your good, even if you be pickin up ppl in deep PA just stop at EWR ull b good

    • @marvinjgerald6007
      @marvinjgerald6007 3 года назад

      NJT is like a state utility co-op but they subsidizes and act as an umbrella corporation. Actually if you any money to purchase two or three coaches and you wanted to run some routes, then NJT can take your money and give you your new coaches at a cheaper price than if you outright purchased it on your own from MCI. NJT acts as an insurance pool because the risk is burden is spread across their wide base. That’s why agencies consolidate. The more massive an order the cheaper MCI can afford the sell since they’ll be making up the profits with massive volume of units sold. Also a lot of states do the same with emergency vehicles when it comes to their counties, cities, towns, community needing new equipment. Everybody buy through the state level inventory. I sure would nice if us bus nuts rise up and pool our resources to help one another buy brand new or auctioned coaches. Ok I slipped off the deep tangent line.

      Don’t know what he’ll I was drinking on my first reply to your comment. I apologize but in simpler terms: nothing is given free to any of the private carriers from the State. There are stipulations and or conditions attached within contractual agreements. Namely that the private carriers share a percentage of route revenue with the state in exchange the latest and or updated equipment also even so far as to maintain the equipment if its a lease with possible to own option.

    They will use buses that were bought with tax payer money to run their charter service and charge accordly.,while NJ Transit was taken to court b/c they were using tax payer funded buses to run their charter service and lost the court battle.

    • @marvinjgerald6007
      @marvinjgerald6007 3 года назад

      Obviously you mean Academy because NJT is State. So however and whatever NJT uses to make that money is considered officially legit. Wether NJT want to charge you for tours of NY, charters abroad or just to commute is their every right being subsidized by the State of NJ. Because at the end of the day it’s considered a return on investments of taxpayer dollars which is a good thing. Academy on the other hand can do the very same thing for their private purposes if they’re in fact “leasing” units from NJT. Now I’m not talking about buses given by NJT to Academy for free in exchange for running and sharing commuter route revenue. In this last case Academy will certainly be wrong for that. And it’s like that, tight-in and in the face.
