Pro Nosidda The single player is broken too. I play single player every week because I speedrun Halo 3, and it crashes all the time. Multiplayer is not the only broken part of the game. Campaign, Forge, the UI, and Custom Games all have problems. And, whenever 343 updates the game, they fix some things, but break other things.

***** Ubisoft developers aren't that incompetent. It's not that they could't make the game run on 2 cores. It's that they didn't want to.
Release FC4 doesn't run on 2 cores, not because of any constraints, but because the game executable checks for the number of available cores and refuses to run if it's below 4 (i3 works because windows sees 4 virtual cores).
All the fix does is just remove the check condition from the exe so it passes always. So the game itself does run on 2 cores out the box, developers didn't fuck it up or something... well, except on purpose.

I played it heavily this past month. There's countless bugs such as freezing on terminals, game crashing, failing to join friends, getting stuck in a join loop, failing to connect to matches, etc.
them claiming the game was fixed in december and therefore only people that played before then get ODST pisses me off.
Oh well. not like they'll even release the full ODST game or even release it within the next year at the pace they are going.

I flat out refuse to buy broken games, I watch reviews and lets plays everey time there is a new release. And you know what? I've saved hundreds these past few years, hell probably at least a thousand by not buying these bugging, half baked games. I've actually gone and started playing old games like FFVII, The Suffering, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Hell yeah they look outdated but at least they fucking work. God the state of a lot of these games now a days is just fucking depressing. I grew up with Halo but I refuse to give 343 a cent for this buggy, non-functioning piece of crap.

I've pretty much stopped playing modern games. I quit around the time Resident Evil: Raccoon City came out.
Since than I purely play old games. My PS1 and PS2 games as well as some older Xbox360 games. On steam I have things like Duke Nukem. Sad thing is since I've gone back to older games I've started to enjoy gaming much more than I had been while playing newer games.
For newer games I pretty much stick to watching let's plays.

If 343 can't fix the Halo Master Chief Collection, then what hope does Halo 5 have? This is pathetic, it shouldn't take developers half a year, to fix shit. MS must be missing Bungie a lot right now. At least Rockstar updated GTA V constantly, and released free DLC, but it definitely didn't take 6 months for the first patch to come out.
I wouldn't be surprised if MS changes their mind and release Halo Online over here, around the same time they release it in Russia, just so they can get fanboys to spend money on those microtransactions, and so they can get a tournament out quickly.

Darkchief117 well 343 hired a bunch of incompetent people. I still blame them for that. Also halo 4 was missing a lot of playlist and content when it was released. 343 said they would add ranks and they never did, furthermore halo 4 had terrible lag issues. 343 has taken forever to fix these problems because they are working on halo 5 instead of focusing on fixing their game. They made so many updates and half of them didnt even work. last week they made a update to fix the ranking system and guess what its still broken. All they did was add ranks to two other playlist, they could have done that day one. 343 is completely incompetent. They have failed twice, i wouldn't put it passed them to fail again.
The halo 5 beta worked fine i had a blast with it so i have faith it'll work fine

Halo 4 never lagged for me so it depends on your connection really, Idk what game your talking about that got in update for Halo 4 and TMCC work just fine for me, I'm sure if any company did this with 4 games in one disc it would be a mess as well and considering 343 isn't a huge company like Nintendo or Microsoft it would have issues.

Halo 4's connectivity hasn't been left in great shape either, so I'm not surprised that it sucks on MCC as well. It's a good thing that all of Bungie's games still work fine.

I mean they had been doing the beginning work on since 4 came out but now they're in the home stretch and have to work extremely hard on it. And while they really do care about how bad the issues are and what people think of it as evidenced by the sheer amount of free content they gave to customers who played it before the New Year; it isn't doing well and they don't have time. It's doing pretty bad so MS paired it in a bundle for the X1 to try to get more sales of units out

Admit it it, the Master Chief collection was an afterthought. They just rushed out the first three Halo games on the Xbone and called it a day just to say that they have a game for their epic fail of a -videogame console- TV streaming device.
I heard most people have their games fine as of the last update. 343 have managed to fix a vast amount of halo 4 3 months after release, and managed to fix reach once bungie left it. So that shows 343 have at least more consideration of GAME QUALITY than Ubisoft.
Reasoning behind the server issues for MCC was due to RUNNING 5 DIFFERENT ENGINES on newly installed dedicated servers. Halo 5 Beta had servers running fine so I'd doubt Halo 5 would have dodgy servers at launch.
I wut m8, i have yet to see ANYONE that can play the MCC. If you know someone then show me, if not fuck you for defending 343.

I cannot say the gameplay is bad i had a lot of fun playing Destiny but horrible story. Only reason i ever liked Halo was for the story, and well Halo 4 made me quit halo. P.S. i don't care about cortana what was the point of the game other than to make a shitty sequel for people to play online, i don't game online in my games, only time i did was in Mass Effect 3 because it was a freakin requirement for the secret ending and it told me i needed it for a better ending.

Man I thought Battlefield 4 was a disaster.
Sadly, they will never get it working 100%. It's already sold a good bit of consoles for the Xbox One, and will continue to sell despite these issues because consumers don't know any better. The days of expecting a game to be working properly are over. I hate to be pessimistic, but the amount of developer white knights have increased 10 fold. It's all about the money now, not about the accountability and art.

343 has officially screwed Halo up. I had Halo 4, beat it once, never played it again....game was a fucking waste. They killed Cortana, Sarah Palmer sucks (she could be so much better!), and the story was a little bland in my regard. I'm glad they gave Chief something to worry about but, but 343, Yall got a TON OF FUCKING WORK TO DO.

Cortana was built from Halsey's brain, not to mention, she was extremely advanced, not to mention derived from Forerunner Tech. Com'on them doing that to Cortana was screwed up.
This is how i feel about this whole thing. Halo 4 should have had a better story set up. I'm glad they made the relationship between Chief and Cortana stronger, but don't get rid of her like that....
We know Reach's canon was screwed up. It was the Spartan IIs, not the IIIs. Bungie never spoke of a war with Humans against Forerunners. If you bomb a society back to the stone age, they would still possess some remnant of their tech to start over. That killed the continuity to me.
Cortana was partly based off Forerunner Tech when you think about it. She could have survived longer if you ask me. 343i respecting the lore, not sure about that. Sarah Palmer doesn't respect Halsey for sure, and lets not forget, the UNSC were the ones to give Halsey the go ahead to conscript the children for the SPARTAN II Program to deal with the Unified Rebel Front, headed by General Robert Graves..only to lock her for something they green lighted. That to me makes no sense.
The question is, why would the Forerunners leave their technology for us, if they fought us? Doesn't make sense to me..

I have to agree with you, Rich. I've had issues with HMCC connectivity since day one, and while it's improved to the point of me being able to join a game here and there, my play sessions are still being limited to a game or two due to connection drops and issues. It's not my connection, 160 down, 20 up. Despite patches galore, I feel completely gutted that 343 rushed out a product that clearly wasn't ready for public use.
I'm hesitant on Halo 5 because of this, when I really, really, shouldn't be second guessing such a title.

They released the game early to make money but doing this they lost a lot of money with the tournaments and damage the halo name the next halo that comes out people will think about it before buying it because of this crap my question to the company is was it worth it was it worth losing fans of the series to make a few extra bucks. Alot of this kind of stuff happens because you have so many apologists today. People who will take whatever they are given with a smile on their face and say how happy they are to get it. No matter the condition.

And as long as the developers and publishers see the money come rolling in, they could care less if the product is broken or not up to par.

I was in a disagreement with people rageing about MCC on the first month and I'm like "Well they're trying to fix things on the spot, not like Battlefield 4". But after 6 months it's not fixed yet? I simply think they have way too many things to do way too fast. We should've had a time gap after the release of the game where people enjoy the shit out of the game just like back in the days of Halo 3. I disagree with you however that what made halo was for the multiplayer, well in my case and my family, it was the good old campaign of Combat Evolved and I remember beeing the only one playing Halo 2's campaign. I think they're equal in quality but I don't know what's the most popular since I only experienced Halo's multiplayer on the 3rd.

TopShot501st Halo 5 had a fully functional beta without issues a year before its release. Secondly, contrary to popular belief, 343i didn't develop Halo: MCC, they were just overhead.
Halo 5 is one game while MCC was 4. Making a new game is easier than putting 4 old games and making them work together perfectly. Even MS themselves have said they know halo 5 will be good day one.

343 just pulled a BF4, broken at launch, will stay broken until another year... If 343 fails with Halo 5 Guardians and releases another broken and incomplete game... Halo will die.

I believe as well , that "HALO MASTERCHIEF collection , was rushed out for Holidays in early November of 2014 , and the end result is speaking for it's self , This is why i admire "Hideo Kojima & David Cage , cause they would never release a game unless it's tested out and polished out.

I went out and bought an XBOX One for Halo MCC in March...and even though it has tons of issues...its still the most fun I have had on Next Gen Consoles thus far. And yes I own a PS4/Wii U as well.
Have not had any issues since that big patch a month or more ago. That really sucks though about the tournament.
Actually, they picked the launch date because it was the tenth anniversary of the original launch of Halo 2, not because they wanted to get it out for Christmas.
Also, as somebody that has been playing Halo since the launch of the first game on the original Xbox, Halo is equally well known for its single player as it is for the multiplayer. Personally, I gave up even trying to play the multiplayer on the Master Chief Collection back in about January and no longer care. Even if I found out today that it was working perfectly, I wouldn't bother.
In other news, there is a private Gears of War Multiplayer Beta going on. Probably testing how well it works. This is what they should've done for MCC. I've already forgiven 343I for MCC, I'd be highly surprised if Halo 5 has these issues.
Remember when dlc was just a thing that sometimes devs would make because the game did so well? Remember when games didnt have season passes and just gave you everything working for $60. Where a patch was only used for balancing guns or fixing a bug to get out of the map? Those were the days

I understand, glitches creep up, but the game should at least be playable. I'm not asking for the game to be glitch free. Just stable and functioning as intended.

When will people learn that the big companies "KNOW" (not sure if I'm stressing enough) if a product has some faults. It's rare they get caught by surprise. I got ripped off twice by EA and never ever, ever, after that did I bought a release from them. If per-chance I want to try an EA title, I use "free alternatives" without multyplayer. If more people start boycotting the companies, instead of just whine some and then go out and buy their next product, we might see results.
I haven't had any connectivity issues for the past 2-3 months tbh, man
quick point to note, maybe they can not fix hat multiplayer properly because they have to work on halo 5 at the same time and microsoft may push them to concentrate on game that they haven't made their money on. Just a small note to think about it, it's possible

If anything maybe they should have just launched with halo 2 multiplayer, and added in the other modes slowly later or something.
What I think they should do is release Halo 2 multiplayer as a standalone game on the Arcade. Make it about 10 bucks, all the maps, some microtransaction support for apparel stuff. Focus on that game and that game only. Go back and redo the netcode where the original xbox version left off.
This is one reason why I don't understand why people get upset when a game is delayed. Yeah I want my games right now to but let the development team make sure the game is ready for us. And developers need to make the damn games READY and not rush them out!

I agree 100%. Regardless of company or platform, this is completely unacceptable. I feel so bad for everyone still having problems, it's not right. Game should be mind blowing every time it's booted up, and it's still a busted mess.
This doesn't surprise me. My friend used to work as a game tester, and when he tested 343 Halo games their general attitude was, "Oh who cares about the major problems! It's Halo bitchez!!1" and generally did their best to pressure the game testing period short.

Whenever I hear about a game that comes with a season pass nowadays I immediately avoid buying it, but instead I wait for Game of The Year Edition then buy for 40$ or 20$. I bought games like Bloodborne, GTA 5, Wolfenstein, Tomb Raider, Infamous Second Son, etc cause they dont have season passes, still having a blast!

There's no excuse for the condition TMCC was released in. If I were in MS/343's shoes, I would've released JUST Halo 2 Anniversary last year, with the revamped campaign, classic MP, and anniversary MP, just Halo 2. Hit it out of the park. THEN release Halo 5 this year, and THEN in 2016 release TMCC so that Halo 1-5 is on Xbox One. Include H2A in the collection in 2016 too. It would've made more sense that way. Cramming all those games onto the 10th anniversary date for Halo 2 makes no sense, and they really could've made TMCC perfect that way and everyone would've been happy since Halo would get a staggered yearly release.
Still, I dunno Rich... the game works pretty well for me these days. It has worked pretty good for me since December to be honest. From what I've read, it's some new Xbox One patch that caused the party system to not function with TMCC, not a fault in TMCC itself persay. Who knows though....
And NO, you're WRONG. Halo CE was praised universally for being a revolutionary SP FPS on console. It was the epic space opera sci fi campaign that made Halo famous. It wasn't really until Halo 2 that MP became such a focus for the series. I would know, because Halo is probably my 2nd favorite big gaming franchise and it's mostly for the SP stuff. I adore Halo's universe, story, characters, locales, etc. Hell, I'm one of those nerds that devours the surprisingly good extended fiction. MP may be what Halo's known for now, but it was the SP that made it stand out in the first place.
I loved TMCC personally since it gave me what I wanted: the SP campaigns of Halo 1-4 with each receiving some improvements, and others (mostly Halo 2) getting the special treatment. Can't wait for ODST, personally.

It is very unfortunate that halo mcc is still buggy after so long. It does annoy me a lot that it is having issues so late into the game, but at least now it is way more playable than it was at launch. At kaunch i coukdnt get into a game period, granted i was more stoaked for h2a campaign. Now, well if i wanna hop on for a few quick games at least i know chances are pretty good i can find them quick with good chances kt will run fine. A few odd bugs as you said.
All in all i really hope this is a wake up call as you said for developers. Just take the time and release when ready.
The problem is that they have to work on Halo 5, and MS probably isn't letting them delay it. I bet if 343 had control over release dates Halo 5 would have been delayed long ago, and the MCC would be fixed for everyone. As of right now through it seems to work fine for some people and not for others.
And this is the reason why I decided a few months ago to pass on Halo 5 until I see that it works fine. I did the same with the last assassins creed and it saved me from a crappy-buggy game

I'm a huge halo fan and hate seeing 343 get called out but I absolutely agree with you. I don't know if you knew this but if you live in Australia like myself you still won't be able to get into most matches. I am never ever able to access btb matches because it never connects. I know it's not me because every other fucking person I know who owns this game has the same problem. It's a peace of shit and I don't want to see halo die just because 343 want to make extra money. Its fraudulent and I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. I want this to stop now.
I completely agree with everything your saying even though it breaks my heart hearing halo with this reputation but I understand now and I will not tolerate this anymore. If halo 5 suffers the same launch and I have to deal with the shit they put me through again, I can tell you now I will not purchase another halo game again. I just don't think I would be able to trust them to make another bug free phenomenon like halo 4.

MCC campaign is not fully fixed either! My friend and I can't get passed H2 co-op legendary without multiple levels crashing towards the end. We would spend 1.5 hrs to have it crash. HUGE disappointment.
