Last night i watched Django Unchained with my Mom cause i wanted to share this masterpiece of a movie and in the opening sequence she said: is this part of the movie or can we skip?

When I was like 15 or something I had a huge Tarantino phase and started to discover my love for movies. I really wanted to show some movie that I liked to my mom, so I asked her now and then if she wants to watch a movie with me and every time she told me that she really wanted to and promised me to do it some other day, but she always had an excuse for not doing it. She kept bullshitting me like that for quite some time until my cousin came to visit us from another country and stayed at our apartment for a few weeks.
One day I went out with some friends and guess what?! As soon as I'm gone, my cousin and my mom take out my DVDs and watch both parts of Kill Bill together! I used to think she just wasn't interested in movies but turns out she just didn't want to watch them with me...

@@iheardasong6335 Hmmmm... that's really strange and I'm honestly trying to figure out why she would do that to you, by any chance do you talk during movies or do anything annoying and maybe that puts her off from watching movies with you or maybe do you not watch movies she wants to so she wants to not watch your movies, can you think of anything? I'm not trying to be mean I'm really confused why she would do that.

Kills me nobody is even mentioning Saul Bass (even in the comments). That Catch Me If You Can sequence is heavily inspired by (and almost definitely a deliberate homage to) his work. It drops you in that time period. Titles wouldn't be anything without him. These guys should know who he is for a video like this.

    • @thedomingocreative

Yes! I was about to comment about this being an homage to Saul Bass and the time period which the film is set on but these guys miss that opportunity to bring that up in the video. Maybe a little film history should be on their agenda before making these videos.

Dark has a pretty incredible title sequence. Its visually beautiful, but also similarly to True Detective, all of the little hints and foreshadowing become clear as the season progresses. You see little flashes of something and you aren't sure what it is until the episode comes around and then during the next intro you can look and go "Oh! I know what that is now! That makes sense."
I love it. Such an underappreciated show because of the dub/subtitles. Everyone should watch it.

I really love it when movies have title sequences. They just do so much to get you pumped (gotta love Bond), or even add little hints to the movie or set the tone as in Watchmen.

Professional critics have to walk a very thin line. They need to rank the work of other people as accurately as possible without being offensive in their treatment of said work. The way you talked about "the room" was in fact offensive, with that condescension and the smug tone. There are many ways of saying "I don't like this or find it good" without mocking the material or the artist. I might have agreed with you if you had said it in a more neutral way, but with all due respect, I don't agree AT ALL with your tone and your joking around, it implies you can do much better and that remains to be proven. Be a bit more humble next time, please. Respect other people's work and passion.

3- *Stranger Things* = all board the nostalgia train!
4- *Love, Death and Robots* = short, techy, on point, delivering symbols present in that episode.
5- *Breaking Bad* = the theme gets me everytime.
    Worst:
1- *American Gods* = good series, great acting, cringy opening sequence!
2- *Mindhunter* = brilliant series, REALLY long and unnecessary opening!

A video about opening credits without even mentioning any James Bond movie is really strange to say the least, it's the only franchise that for almost 60 years people literally want to see the credits, and the way they make a seamless transition between the movie to the credits and then back to the movie is genius and I haven't even started to talk about how its aesthetics tell us so much about each time period. I know you had to make hard choices but just like most of your viewers I think this was a huge mistake.
