Time off is so so important! I just completed my Master's degree and am finishing up the last intership for it this summer. I had such a passion for my field before I started but my two year degree really took all that out of me so now I only see it as a job. I've applied to some jobs for september but I'm going to take the next year off to go back and live with my family, recover, and start working on my new novel (just starting my query process with my first one). I need to just relax and take time for myself, especially creatively - writing my novel has been the only thing that has truly brought me joy and kept me sane the past year and half
All that being said, I'm so glad I found your channel. It's nice seeing another author's life and gives me hope I can do this part-time if not full time soon

I know what you mean about being productive on a plane. I don't know what it is but I just get completely in the zone when I'm flying. I wish I were always that productive!

You should! I also don't turn on wifi or anything and if there's a screen, I'll watch a short episode of something during takeoff and then pull out my computer and get to work!
Hey, guess what?? I just completed a paper a year in the making, based on 11 years of code development and a plan I made about 20 years ago while in grad school. Your frequent videos and words of encouragement on writing were really important in keeping me working on it. Thank you for all you do Sara! :)

@@SaraLubratt :D I'm at a conference in San Antonio, so the first thing I did was go on a long walk along the river walk in the evening and process what I had completed. I'm going to an early 4th of July party this weekend so I'll for sure go all out and spend Sunday recovering. 😂

What was the dessert that you made?
I haven't written much in the last few months after deciding to transfer colleges during the winter. So now I unexpectedly have the summer off from classes to go back to creative work without the stresses and deadlines of being an art student.
I'm also realizing the change of my independence as I get older and grow out of my family's house.
