Sergio is one of the musicians from the 60' who played world hits. To this day they are played on the radio. Think about it, that's more than 50 years. Sergio you are the best.
Lani Hall's incredible voice simply 'ties my guts in a knot!' every time I hear her...and Janice Hansen was 'drop-dead gorgeous!' Sergio Mendes & Brazil 66 was beyond any comparison. I can listen to it every minute, of every day. Their music wraps around you, and penetrates all of your senses...not 'just music', it's pure 'emotion'.
Can't relate how much this takes me back to my childhood. This album, along with Peter Paul and Mary, The 5th dimension, Joni, Bob Dylan were on my parents record player all the time
oh yes what can you say about this music. It takes you away on a summer breeze on a cloud to somewhere new and refreshing. Do they play this in heaven? I think so.
Beautiful song look for love 1968 good year when this song was play I have this song on CD when they use to played all over the radio 📻 Sergio is the best I love it
Lani still looks amazing! Just saw her and Herb Alpert in concert last fall. Have several Brazil 66 and tijuana brass album to just chill to in my new retirement!
That's these guys ' man I heard these songs 🎵 a million times..I would never thought of a band from Brazil..we get bombarded with All-American music 🎶 and British.. music
I was just starting to learn to read & this was the first "dated" thing I remember! My mother was still in her 20s (&this was cool not the Beatles for people in there late 20s) I am 61 & my mother is now 85 wow!
@@d.e.b.b5788 Janis beautifuly sings lead the 1st 25 seconds of each verse, then Lani powerfully joins in to give this song the trademark Brasil 66 sound.
Was this song, in the Billboard 100 when Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. was Assassinated on April 4th,1968 and June 6th ,1968 the night Robert F.Kennedy was Assassinated? I Await Your Reply.

This is Janis Hansen on lead on this track!
ez there, Jim...
true
true
Janis is leading the vocals
Came here to pay tribute to the late Burt Bacharach....Incredible song writer.....
You WILL be missed!
His songs live on forever or until World War 3 starts😵💫
Really it's this very elaborate harmonically advanced arrangement by Sergio Mendes that adds so much
The Look of Love is one of the most romantic songs of all time ❤️.... those two Girls ❤❤...are beautiful 💐💐
Best performance of a Bacharach - David tune, imho.
NOT necessary to type out your cough or throat clearing. Period after tune.
Janis Hansen took only ten minutes to record her vocals, just perfect. Incredible!
She’s absolutely astounding! Check her next group called “The Carnival”. Only one album but it is here on RUclips. Great stuff.
I've ALWAYS LOVED, THIS SONG!! I remember when I was small, this would play on the radio, and that's when the love affair, began!!
Sheer auditory ecstasy… beautiful beyond words-the best take on this Bacharach & David song EVER!!
I agree Suzy, but they did every song beautifully.
RIP
Better than Dusty Springfield?
@@johnfulton4061 Love Dusty but, yeah, I think so.
Agreed! 👍🏼 This is the best cover of this song-and there are many great versions too, including Dusty’s!
Rest in Peace, Mr. Bacharach. Thank You for your Music
I was only 6 years old in '66, but I remember a few of their hits from the late 1960s.
Rest In Peace, Burt Bacharach! I miss this era of music so much! My youth! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
I always love the Brasil 66 version of this song, and Dusty does a great job too, but let's all recognize the wonderful lyrics that Bert gave us!
Burt.
Hal wrote the lyrics.
Love their version of Fool On The Hill too
Let's not forget that at the end of Dusty's version there's a short trumpet solo performed by Herb Alpert, Lani Halls husband. (And A&M cofounder)
Hal David gave us the beautiful lyrics and Burt Bacharach gave us the amazing music everybody forgets Hal he was an amazing lyricist
This is such a sensual song. Herb Alpert is a very lucky man..
This group had such a wonderfully unique sound. I grew up on it and loved it. Still do...
Can't relate how much this takes me back to my childhood. This album, along with Peter Paul and Mary, The 5th dimension, Joni, Bob Dylan were on my parents record player all the time
Nothing like this music today.... so glad I grew up to this music and many others....

Sergio Méndez, really great!!! and all the brazilian music of that age!!
Burt Bacharach....and Hal David...my favorite songwriters of All Time 😊
The look of love ::: Best version by Sergio Mendes & B66
Now ,,,, the best ever,,,,,,
Sergio Mendez had a good thing going! Hit number 4 on the charts on July 6 1968! Hear the bongos!
There was a LOT of tough competition that year.
Theirs is the definitive version of "The Look of Love"...
What is that?
Reached #4 Billboard (U.S.) charts, April 1968...
Dusty Springfield’s version is tremendous as well!
Agreed! Dusty’s version is great too!
Such a sophisticated sound!
Who could not love this song ❤.
Music mastery and sophistication. Thank you Sergio Mendes!
So so great. Love Sergio and all he is still doing. An icon and musical God.
Beautiful song look for love 1968 good year when this song was play I have this song on CD when they use to played all over the radio 📻 Sergio is the best I love it

A versão de Andy Willians e Kenny g tbm são nota 10.
Dave Grusin on the piano. Adding so much to Burt's masterpiece.
I thought ant Sergio was the pianist?
Gracias a Deus for Sergio and Lani. She has the most perfect voice.
This is actually Janis Hansen here. But yes Lani was wonderful too.
Like many I love sounds of this era. Sergio Mendez and Brazil 66 have a special place in my memory. Great music oozing coolness and shear taste.😊
lets add Dave Grusen in his early years as producer. Cant forget Dave Grusen!
Love relies on a look. The way you see the one you love.
Lani still looks amazing! Just saw her and Herb Alpert in concert last fall. Have several Brazil 66 and tijuana brass album to just chill to in my new retirement!
Che sound vellutato.. Accarezza la anima
This song takes me back to my childhood years. I love it! I'm 71 and I can still sing to this song like it was yesterday!❤
Bibi Vogel and Lani Hall these 2 Women and they're beautiful voices wow🎉

When they were on the Carol Burnett show. Both Lani and Karen gave Carol the conveyance to sing on her own.
Maravilloso.¡¡¡
June 27, 2021...
Lani had such a sexy, beautiful voice.
But that's not Lani on this one! It's Janis Hansen on lead vocals. I was mistaken for years, too.
@@d.e.b.b5788 Wow no kiddin? I'm blown away to hear that was Janis on lead vocal. Thanks for the correction DEB!

Burt Bacharach did not write the lyrics. He only wrote the music.

jazzy
Wow, I thought Diana Krall made this.
Lani Hall is the ONLY vocalist on the Brasil '66 recordings overdubbed by her husband, Herb Alpert, who has admitted as much in public.
Was this song, in the Billboard 100 when Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. was Assassinated on April 4th,1968 and June 6th ,1968 the night Robert F.Kennedy was Assassinated? I Await Your Reply.
IDK, bec I was only 5 yrs old.
Such pleasa t associations you made and continue to promote!
See a therapist .
The world is crazy now. Don’t know what a woman is. Men screwing. Come on. I love women!!!
Imagine how much Burt Bacharach would be worth in today’s climate of relatively bad music..
