    I really like the can opener that pokes a hole in the middle, then adjust and go around. Thumbs up from me :)

      Yeah, I like that one too :) it seems easier to use than the modern one, but the same amount of easy as an electric can opener I think

    Nice. That center punch sliding can opener is awesome. What's it called and how do you get one. Probably 70+ yo and still works. Looks like it would be easy to sharpen too. ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO FIND ONE or The name of it to research it. I've been through so many can openers over the years.

    The P-38 and P-51 are hard to beat, very small compact and so easy to use.

    The centre-punch style is really good. Especially for a survival situation - rotary can-openers often break. And the speed!!

    That's pretty interesting. I didn't know there were so many different designs of can openers. I liked the 1st one and the other one that starts with the hole in the middle. Good job!

    The last one I got similar and may be 1980s it still works better than the modern ones that go blunt

    I think instead of angular force in the 2nd and the 3rd, 4th last ones, you should try holding the opener vertical and turning the can around. I think that way the opener would work better & less chance of slipping

    First style can opener is a Sargent-Sprague Can Opener patented 1870, I believe.

    The center tap can opener is a clever and functional can opener. It opens so fast and with a clean edge.

    The air isn’t escaping from the can, it’s quite the opposite! The can is air tight and vacuumed, air is rushing in when you puncture it!

    Some of this can opener's was for open the can by the side, cutting bellow the lid folder, like the can opener used by Victorinox from 1897 to 1945 (1961 in the Soldier version) in their pocket knives.

    The blades are dull or semi-dull. Sharpen them up and they will work great.

    I’ve opened cans with my hunting knife a bunch of times lol
    It works okay but leaves a jagged edge.
