He was by far one of the best interviews of the Stones. This is because his honesty and modesty were so unassuming. He really was so incredibly smart, yet still egoless. He realized his career was about the fun of playing well and reduces it down to “juvenile” which is classic Charlie Watts.
"I just played jazz stuff...... really badly I might add" Classic Charlie haha
Charlie Watts is the most beautiful man and humble and intelligent man, and he's the heartbeat of the Stones ❤❤. He's the glue that has kept them together 🎉🎉
The coolest stone, Mr. Charlie Watts. RIP, Charlie thanks for all the great beats!!!
He will be forever missed. Rest in peace, Charlie Watts.
This was a very fine man and so smart Charlie was❤❤😢never gobe forget him one off my sons get his name after Charlie Watts i am glad for that❤❤😊Very sympathic man and so quiet❤love him always😢❤❤❤
So happy this is on RUclips.
It's great that as a lover of "black America" he recommended Darryl Jones and Steve Jordan to the Stones as successors to Bill Wyman and (unintentionally) himself, thus creating a kind of legacy. For the Stones lover, however, the original rhythm section will always remain the ultimate.
Very knowledgeable about music, deep thinking & modest to a fault!!
Thanks Charlie!! ☺️
Fantastic interview with a great musician.
He mentioned Jimi and Clapton and not a word about the best guitarist he was playing with at that time: Mick Taylor.
Keef, Ronnie, Chuck, BB, Hooker, Jeff, Thunders, Tom Verlaine, Vini Reilly, Hendrix, Townshend, etc. The best players to me are very recognizable and they're amazing in what they do.. They've got feel. Others are a bit too technical for me with less feel.
hard to belivebless u charlie miss u every day rip gone 2 soon
Incomparabile !! Questo sarà per sempre conservato nella mente e nel cuore dei fan del Rock...
RIP, Charlie darling ❤
Thank you 4 this treasure, folks!!
What a humble dude. RIP.
I love you forever Charlie 😘💋❤️💕♥️💞💖🌹💙😍
Gave Anysley Dunbar and Keltner a shout out...nice! Says alot about his tastes...I ain't gonna be brief! Straight shooter
Fame and fortune changed this guy not one bit....that's remarkable.
Stayed true to himself. 💯
Rest in Peace Charlie
Charlie's all right, ain't he?😊
Lol " do u really want to know this? Cause I ain't going to be brief"
Never one for hyperbole, that’s why you listen to every word
And get that light outta the man's face!!!
"Charlie's good tonight ain't he!"
Whats with the bright light in his eyes?
Sunny day in Australia.
I've always find Charlie nice but confused guy, somewhere never satisfied. As a drummer he perfectly fit with Stones music but....
A detail when you play with Mick Taylor since 4 years how could you say that lazzy Clapton is the best.
Indeed, unbelievable. Maybe he was afraid of Keith's reaction.
He's honest. He just says who he really loves.. You don't have to please your bandmates who you hear and see for many years, cause it's obvious that you like them. I personally like Ronnie and Keef. A lot of rock&feel.

I wasn't talking "as a bandmate" but as a musician, of course it's about my personnal taste. Jagger really appreciated Taylor, Jeff Beck and Ry Cooder, a man of well and taste.
Sly Dunbar
I love Charlie but he was not even a good jazz drummer - he was the perfect drummer for The Stones and by the 1972 tour he was playing better then ever - but i am sorry if you know jazz drummers - Buddy Rich - even Charlie would admit he would be embarrassed to play jazz drums in Buddy's company. Period. RIP Buddy and Charlie
