I hope Rhonda and Eric found the help they needed ♥️ I hope Rhonda found a reason enough to want to live. I hope Eric doesn't blame himself for any of this and has a happy life however it turned out.
I've been there. Sometimes inpatient treatment makes it worse. Research the hospital first. I was in a hospital (Philhaven in PA) that had us in a pod co ed and there were sexually aggressive men in there and I was there because of trauma from being molested as a kid and it made everything worse. A man kept calling me Jello Ass and talking about me like I was a juicy steak. Nurses didn't do anything when I told them. Place needs shut down.
I feel for Barbara. I have polycystic ovary syndrome, which gives me hirsutism. I grow a beard and other body hair. It is annoying. I also just read that Luke passed away in 2000.

Barbara, I know this was close to 30 years ago. But I tell you that you are so beautiful. This condition did not define you. You are a beautiful soul. And beauty has nothing to do with this condition.
The first woman needed some serious intervention from a doctor or licensed therapist. Forget looks- the second one didn’t need a make over, she needed some help getting out of an abusive and toxic relationship. 🤦♀️
You know God is the best in the world God is always going to be number one Jesus is going to be number one and then your kids and then you always turn to God for everything I've learned that through my kids cuz I had I've had abusive relationships too and they always cut me down to nothing like I was absolutely just garbage on the street well that's how I felt for years and years and I'm 56 and I I still kind of feel the same but I know that God is with me all the time cuz all I do is pray to God for everything just for breathing I pray to God and for all my family and all my friends and homeless sick of the suffering I pray for everybody even myself but my kids always come first after God if I'm walking around in crappy tennis shoes I don't care long as my kids have good stuff or as long as they have you know tennis shoes I'll walk around the sandals I don't care but it all turned around because God God gives you everything if you just ask him my two kids got me a pair of Nike tennis shoes last year I was so happy and you know the littlest things make anybody happy buying them a $5 Pizza makes them extremely happy I've taught them not to be materialistic and they are not like that today and they are wonderful boys my twin boys they're wonderful and my other two kids are wonderful too but I've learned that just having a roof over your head and food in the refrigerator and clothes on your back you can't ask God for anything more than that and he helps you with whatever you need so I'm praying for all of you today on the show all of you I love every one of you in God's name amen
I guess maybe I’ll be in the minority with this comment, but that first woman seemed selfish and attention mongering. I’ve no doubt she has issues, but the way Sally asked her how she felt about what her son just said and she brushed it aside saying, “I don’t know” and then continued on with what SHE wanted to say. Apparently the son she cares so much about didn’t impress her with his words since she was too busy waiting for her turn in the spotlight to listen to him. Then her response to the lady in the audience, “But she WANTS to live” when asked how she felt that this audience member who was crying for this woman and had a special needs child. I felt like she was manipulating the audience and the staff. What suicidal person gloats about how they’re not good at suicide and have tried really hard saving up pills? She seemed INCREDIBLY selfish, and asking Sally to take her child? Unless she has a learning disability that makes her function as under 10 years old, she knows Sally can’t just take her kid and, again, this is SCREAMING attention monger. And what if her son saw the show? What would he think that his mother is saying she wants to get rid of him? I’m sorry if this offends anyone, but this really bothered me. I had a friend who really did commit suicide and I had no idea of her intentions. It was shocking to learn what happened and you know why? Most actual suicidal people don’t tell anyone about it. They don’t. As mentioned, the guest on Sally needed some type of help for absolute sure. This woman’s words about “offing” herself and other dramatic phrases were just so off putting that I’m actually offended. I hope she’s received help for her real issues and I even more hope that her son is okay today. I didn’t watch the whole show, but I sure hope that they suggested getting help for the child. My heart goes out to HIM.
I agree. I think this woman is selfish. With all the failed attempts, why not just get help. Planning on doing it when her son turns 18?? This disgusts me on all levels
I like what you said there. With me having a mental illness diagnoses and all the crazy crap I've done in the past, I felt at the time that my girls deserved better than a "crazy" mom. Now IK that my trauma from abuse had a role in past choices that I made and no one can replace me as a mom crazy or sane. I have a letter from my autistic 14 yr old that says she really likes listening to German rock music with me. We are our own brand of weird. You may not fit in somewhere like school, work, or in laws, but you are some kid's personal rockstar, or even a rockstar to your partner and not realize it. My best buddy killed himself on 10/3/20 w fentanyl and I'm still not right w /o him asking how we all are doing and his raucus laughter. He was a true genuine friend. RIP Ray Buchanan ll
Not everyone deals with their mental issues the same way. I'm sorry your friend lost her life. I hate to hear that about anyone because in order for someone to go far enough to take their own life they must have been struggling more than anyone knew. I agree not everyone announces they want to kill themselves but there are people that do and you can't judge if they're just wanting attention or not. More often than not it's a loud cry for help.
Depressed people a don’t commit suicide because they are selfish. They don’t want to stop living. They just want the pain they are in to stop. Unless you’ve experienced clinical depression, you really have no idea how difficult it is.
It sad his mum suffer from mental illness and she try to commit suicide more then once. She need professional help so she can raise her child and be good mum to him. He need his mum and his love her and he can't loss her. 😢.
Wow child support isnt just done to dead beat dads. Its also for children whos main home is the mothers and their main provider is their mother. Good dads need to help out too. And thats what child support does. Its for the child
I hope Rhonda and Eric found the help they needed ♥️ I hope Rhonda found a reason enough to want to live. I hope Eric doesn't blame himself for any of this and has a happy life however it turned out.
That first lady didn’t need Sally, she needed intensive inpatient treatment if she was suicidal.
@Strawberry Jam… wow times have definitely changed since then huh? I wonder often what happens to these guests in their lives out of concern! 🫢
I agree completely. I really hope she's alive and well, and that her son turned out OK as well.
If you are truly suicidal, you don't announce it to the world. Also, inpatient treatment is a joke.
@@nonenone9892What do you do then?

Ladies and Gentlemen, Would You Please Welcome The Lady Of The Hour, Sally Jessy Raphael.
I tried my best NOT to cry over the first story with a lady contemplating suicide. It was just too sad. 😢 😭😓😞😔
Hugs to anyone who needs them
I wonder if the first Mom made it. 🙏🏻💗

I also just read that Luke passed away in 2000.
Sue is a dead ringer for Princess Dianna!
Soooo gorgeous 🤗
That is exactly what I thought when I first saw her. Oh my god, she looks so amazing.
your right for a minute there i thought it was Princess Diana
The voiceover announcer Of The Sally Jessy Raphael Show Is Chuck Conners.

Unfortunately Luke passed away four years after the episode.
Oh no from what
The liver cancer must have returned
@@torimig2151 He did get a transplant, but his obit says he died after a four-year illness. So I don’t know what happened.
People were so much kinder back then
Sike, have you seen the episodes of grown adults bagging on CHILDREN?
The hairstyles thru the ages and eras… omg 😳
Sue really came out there looking like Lady Diana lmao
Is there any updates on any of these people.
I wish they could make shows like this again

I remember as a kid watching Sally and she was an awesome talk show host.... I wish that she still had her show....
this was the 1st show who write letters to sally by reaching out that the guests need help
I read somewhere that Luke Clemons passed away in 2000.

Man, I miss the kind of shirts Arlene is wearing. They were just so bright, happy, and made me smile.
Idk why the first and third ladies didn't also get makeovers? I think they needed some self esteem help too.
A makeover wasn't going to fix that first one. She needed far more intensive help than that to raise her self esteem

Explain to me why a woman would plan to have a child with a married man?
So she can then blame HIM for her daughter not having a father figure, as if her life choices didn’t put the kid in that situation.
Y are they gonna do her beard but not the mustache, that’s crazy! Even back then those ppl reach n prey on others! She beautiful regardless

The first story was NOT funny, it was sad as hell. I tried my best not to cry over that being so I remember my issues. ☹️
