It was because the world was made to hate Russia by that time. The West had brought the anti-Russia campagne into full motion by that time. It was soooooo hard for her to sing at the Eurovision contest. She was afraid of the reaction to her as the singer for Russia. Therefore she could not sing to her full potiential. And it made me beyond happy that the German people gave her even after all the hate from the world media against Russia 12 points. That fact made me cry Because no one in the world will bring us Germans up against Russia again. Never.......

я помню, как переживала за Полину на том Евровидение - это было тогда, когда появилась ненависть к России, но Полина такая милая и нежная, как Золушка, сложно было её ненавидеть. Но даже во время исполнения видно, как ей страшно, какая ответственность лежит на ней. Только её профессионализм и потрясающий, мощный голос помог ей быть одной из лучших!

This show is different from others in that it is live. And this is important for them. Of course they impose "standard" effects on the microphone (echo, etc.), but in general, all the performances of each artist on this show singin are singing live.

It's great to see a person who understands how Polina creates sound from Soul. But. At Eurovision, Polina sang this song more strongly. You have chosen a different option. Another option is in a slightly different style.

it's live. the audience with music education are the judges for the participants.
She sings live, but the show isn't live - meaning changes are made in post-production. She's great, so whatever changes they made were unnecessary
I'm not into pop music either, but I can say she's on of the best vocalists in Russia. Check her rendition of the song "Cuckoo" from this competition, it's an old rock song and I like her version.
And if you like to discover new names, I suggest you to take a look at Daria Stavrovich aka Nookie, she's the best russian metal singer, and of the best I've ever seen. She attended the Voice and have some greate perfomances - cover of "Zombie", her own song "Rings on the Water" ("Круги на воде"), cover of "Chandeleir". She's also a soloist of rock band "Slot", I love them very2 much!

They're not broadcast live and are "improved" during post-production. In her case changes were probably minor, but they're evident

Bonsoir Chris, merci encore pour cette nouvelle réaction. J'aime les explications que vous donnez pour moi la néophyte. Oui puisque pour moi avant la musique c'était juste une question de feeling. J'aimais ou pas. J'étais plus branchée paroles (Brel, Brassens oui cela fait un bail) et parfois au feeling sans suivre personne en particulier. Et puis j'ai découvert cette émission chinoise de "The Singer", où (pour moi) la musique est parfaitement orchestrée, les cœurs au top. Et ce quel que soit l’artiste.
Puis viens l'artiste, de Dimash à KZ en passant par Tengri à la technique de chant assez particulière (voir Heaven) ou par Hua Chen Yu, génie de l'écriture musicale/arrangements au "monde" assez particulier voir "Child", "Ordinary Path" ou "Fake Monke". J'ai trouvé très osé de présenter la dernière lors d'un concours éliminatoire. Mais qui valent le détour bien que cela ne soit pas trop/très votre type (passez moi l'expression).
Donc j'aime vos commentaires, détaillés explicatifs. J'ai appris pas mal de "trucs", je comprends mieux du coup. Et puis il y a la façon dont vous le faite. Toujours l'esprit ouvert, dans l'acceptation de l'autre. Enfin, votre prononciation de l'anglais non bu ;) parfait pour une pure francophone. Pour tout cela MERCI.
PS : récemment vous avez édité une réaction très vite supprimée de Dimash "Daididau" (j'imagine pour une question de droits) que je n'ai pu voir. Dommage, j'aurais aimé avoir votre opinion.

Totaly agree with you about singing in the native language at ESC. I also would like to listen to lyrics in foreign languages with typical music of the region. At the end they are stil subtitles for god's sake

А в целом не понимаю таких сравнений, обе хороши по своему и очень разные.

A, I see that you are French. I looked through your reactions and didn't see this then 9 year old performer listed. This is Emma Cerchi who won the Voice France Kids. You'll notice she is a beloved young girl who is treated lovingly by everyone who comes in contact with her. This video was cut down from a 10 minute video that first introduces Emma. She gets better each performance. I suppose you'll learn about Emma through the judges comments or you may already know about her. I think your audience would enjoy the time spent with her. Her story is about the love of singing and courage.

And yeah, you love rock, so if you enjoyed this perfomance (btw, she was ill in that moment, that's why she had some problems with breath), you should definitely check her 1st perfomace on Singer 2019, where she sang "A Cuckoo" - beautiful song dedicated to WW2, which was originally written by Victor Tsoi - the legend of Russian rock music in 90s.
