I tried this for the first time after watching your videos multiple times. Trying this in Myrtle Beach where apparently the sand isn't near as good as yours in Texas. I got a great base, built up and was very strong. I then had a bucket with the bottom gone. Problem is I could not get the bucket up once full of sand/water. Even tried your WD40 trick. Any suggestions? Did I have too much water, or could it be the sand?
so are the buckets prepared like this - if not when you try and get them off they distort and actually grip the sand - which as you ave found out is a real pain - let me know ruclips.net/video/333gI3hSc1I/видео.html
@@SandcastleAndy Thanks Andy. I'm using a traditional 5 gallon bucket. The only thing I did differently than you was used a dremmel tool to cut the bottom out instead of a jigsaw. I wouldn't think that would make much difference?
@@smokethisgt no you are right..it wouldnt..if bucket is fairly new and sprayed well with whatever lube you use and the bottom still had a 1/2 inch piece left to the inside them it should come straight off when lifted from the base after a few slaps on the side. If it has packed that hard they usually come off easier. Only thing I would try first is a much stiffer bucket like the pool chlorine ones I use..see if that is better..interedting and, annoying conundrum this..but one thing I would ask..are you using a 2 gallon as well? And how is that working?
Yo
Hi Andy, I’ll be doing a sand castle competition this weekend with friends. Only have 45 min to build a sand castle dream home. I was curious, how long do you need to let the buckets sit until they are ready to pull the buckets off? The beach we are at is Stinson beach, CA
If you are on a Texas beach you can pull your buckets almost immediately once the water has drained..where are you?
Hi Andy, we will be at Stinson beach, in California
how did you get on in the competition? and pictures or videos - via email address on www.sandcastlelessons.com - would be fun to see..I have been to stinson beach - isnt that the one that dissapears for a few months every year?
Can i use the large sized bucket twice if I don’t have the huge bucket
One on top of the other
You have two?
Hi
i counted more then 2 tools though xD nice video though
LOL yes, didnt think about buckets and shovels!..getting to the block stage seems the minimum i go for before i start! But good point!
Was 😱😨
I am making like you
