The Mountie was actually a pretty good mid card heel for a few years there.
I remember being a kid and dis -liking him so much.. haha I remember asking myself what is a mountie?
I’m from close to Montreal and my grandfather lived in Montreal. I remember watching wrestling with my my grampa Saturday mornings In Montreal and hating the Mountie. He was an excellent heel.
If I hear another story of Andre the giant flipping a car over I'm going to freak out… I have heard 15 different versions of the same story but in different towns with different people … If it happened I wish someone would tell the true story of it
Hard to imagine. A VW Beetle (even an old one) is over 2000 lb. With 3-4 average sized guys in it, the weight quickly goes up to ~2500 lb.
Andre was a BIG guy, and there's NATURAL strength from carrying that massive frame around, but he was never strong like Big Show, Kevin Nash, or Kane for example.
I highly doubt he could flip an empty car let alone one with people in it. The guy could barely STAND UP without holding onto the ropes.
Yeah. I know what you mean. I’m actually sick of some of the Haku stories as well to be honest.
i think the true version the guys were throwing empty cans at Andre until he got sick of it got up chased them in to their car they took off and crashed and that caused the car to roll over then the police came and charged them with dui and they said a giant was chasing them that's why they crashed , i doubt andre could flip a car over, world strongest men cant do that , they flip over cars that have no engines in them , lifting a car off the ground is one thing but flipping it over is another

What are you guys doing? This is the story, this guy was there. He named the town, other people that were there and the type of car. Aside from video evidence this is the best and most accurate story. When this incident got passed around from wrestler to wrestler it changed slightly. But this is the most believable example I ever heard. The Mountie was there! End of story. Of course with this generation, even with video evidence you still would doubt.
And Andre was damn strong. Lots wrestlers talk about his strength. He had huge mass and continuous HGH coursing through his veins. He never had surgery to stop it like Big Show did.
this is a one way conversation, no other input, just 2 guys that love each other putting one point over.
It does play like Jacques has already got his haircut but refuses to leave or stop talking about wrestling.
Hah, can you imagine Hannibal comes in to get him to leave, then ends up talking about wrestling for like 3 hours lol

Hearing the difficulties Andre faced while traveling breaks my heart. How he had to plan his travel, lodging, etc. had to be a nightmare sometimes. And something we take for granted every day! I wish I would have been in the position that I’m in now back then. I might have been able to design and manufacture some things that would have made his life a little easier and hopefully better.

Andre and Dusty Rhodes once stole a horse drawn carriage in New York to get back to the hotel! I love Andre a sweet guy with a great sense of humour! Very intelligent. Great soul.

He wasnt 7'4, but it doesnt matter. He was one of the wrestlers i had the most respect for and if it wasnt for him (NOT for Hogan) then wrestling wouldnt be as big as it is today. RIP Andre

LMAO, 6'10?? In his prime in the 70's, he was 7'4. Look at old pics of him. As he got older, his acromegaly took over and affected his back and joints and he hunched over more. Andre was a true giant with unimaginable and legendary strength.
A legit 7'4 Andre would had been billed 8ft in wwf...
Andre also had multiple spinal fusions in the 1980's, which shorten you. He wore that over-the-shoulder outfit to cover the scars. Ernie Ladd, a former football player, who was legitimately 6'9", and Andre's big rival in the WWF in the 1970's, said that Andre was half-a-foot taller than him.

He looks good, I like the Rougeau's personally, they seem pretty down to earth guys, but I never was a fan of their in ring work. Sometimes as a heel there was some funny moments with Jacques, but I didn't get them as a team, what made them stand out enough to get that push they got. Everyone but Bam Bam Liked Andre, I just love that match where he near kills Bam Bam, even then I was like this is different, he is hurting this guy, but he deserved it from what I heard.
I live on the Ontario/Quebec border and Jacques sounds just like The boys from Chapeau.
I think every wrestler wants to connect yourself with andrie as being a friend … from all the interview's I've heard I don't think he had that many friends

I met Big John Studd at school ( he came and spoke to our grade of classes) when I was in the 2nd or 3rd Grade.
SIGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really wish I could have met Andre the Giant. [ Yesterday I finally saw the movie "Trading Mom". ( I was amazed he had a longer amount of time on screen. I was afraid he was going to be wearing a mask and only have a few seconds in the movie.) I wish Andre had lived longer.]

Jacques seems like a super nice guy. I wish he would have said Andre's real height and not his kayfabe height like all other wrestlers do. I guess it's out of respect to Andre's myth.
