No it doesn’t fire faster , it only gives more mod charges up to 9 I believe. But you will mainly just be swapping back and forth with your guns only using their mods. So no need to worry about fire rate or even ammo .
Didn't play the game in a while, I did beat apocalypse at release, but I stopped playing and I didn't try any dlc. Any "base game" build (no new items) that is still viable, and would allow me to try and beat the dlc's on apocalypse?
There were some mods buffs that made them very powerful now and you don’t need any dlc items to make them work great just the mods. The Skewer is very powerful now and could help carry you through the new dlc , and the prismatic mod is poweful now as well. There are many others but this was just some. If you want to use range builds many guns got buffed with only few of them being nerfed such as the Nebula which was great for all situations. I hope this helps you!
