  • Another very busy weekend working on the auto top up. Getting it almost near on completed, and I find that we have had residents living under the shed.
    The Koi Pond build is coming on leaps and bounds now and as we start heading into the dark, winter months, I'm in a rush against the clock to get it to a point where it can sustain itself through the winter.
    Thank you to everybody for you're continued support, it really does mean a hell of a lot to me and gives me motivation to keep picking the camera up to share my project as it progresses. An although the pond itself is built and running, as we all know, a pond is never complete and most likely never will be!

    Very well observed guys👍😆 I'm just going to pretend that I already observed that and say I was going to swap them around before I commissioned it😬😏

      @@TelfordKoiPond indeed. I forgot to ask you, what type of netting do you have on top of your pergola or where did you get it from? I'm looking for something for mine as my back garden is in full sun all day during the summer months and could do with something to shade it.

    Wicked top up system mate 👌

      thanks, it's by far from fool proof as there are a couple of downsides to this type of top-up system. But it's advantages far outweigh the negatives. maybe i'll point these out in another video.

    Not just remove the paper on the cartridges they need to be the other way around and you need to run them for a while to waste so they are purged.
    Love the rest of the work and it has given me food for thought. keep it coming.

      Yes your absolutely right. I just wasn't thinking when I fitted it and failed to realize it had come from the supplier as a right to left flow instead of a left to right flow.

    Looking good. You need swap your filter cartridges around. You want the clear one first as this will remove any sediment, then onto your various charcoals.

    Great update, you already know you made a mistake... as pointed out by many others 🤣👍🏻 its looking good although i would change the brass connector to the float switch for a plastic on if you can. 👍🏻. All the best, Tel 😊🙏🏻😊

    Just as well you wasn't doing this in summer or you would have had some very angry bee's after you, wasn't there any dead one's in it, nice job on the auto top up, I'm hoping I won't need one with doing a trickle in trickle out for water change.
    Rob.

    • @UpNorthKoiPond
      @UpNorthKoiPond  2 года назад

      Yes there was a couple of dead ones. I'll either use it to just top up periodically as the drum cleans, or I'll use the 15mm drain valve to trickle water out and then the tank will Automatically match the rate at which the pond is losing water and keep it topped up. I haven't decided how I'm going to use it yet, but I've got to get my waste to drain first or dump it in field at back of fence.
