Eh, that's the general idea. Although I believe that there really isn't an exact consensus when it comes to color meanings, since this isn't exactly an exacting science. It's really more of a marketing gimmick. It's mostly a color coding so you can focus on your goal.

It's not pronounced Daruma with and elongated u. it is named after the tamil-indian buddhist priest BodhiDharma it is pronounced daruma like da rum a but quickly. so... daruma.
If it was elongated it would be daruuma. Japanese do not elongate sounds like english. This word is only 3 characters and all are the same timing. (Daa·roo·mah)
