Nope haha. The ride improved quite a bit when I changed the shocks and added the lift, but the tires were to upgrade the look and help when I have jobs a little off the beaten path.
I’m back lol, I guess the simpler question would be, did you hook up your 3rd brake camera light up with any additional cords to the Rearview ? Or only with the cords provided with the 3rd brake camera light ?
@@GriffinConway Earlier this year I became the proud owner of a GMC Savana V8, low roof and short wheelbase. Got really lucky and found one with a sliding door and partition built in. Slowly kitting it out, but it's already been worth it.
@@avdpost awesome! I drove a few of the U haul versions of those. I like them a lot. Drop a link if you ever put up a video showing it, would love to check it out
Good plan for this van. I look forward to watching future videos as you build it out. I totally like the idea of everything on one cart that you can roll out, ready to go. That is what I'm planning for our video van in the future since we have a great, two-level Krane cart that hold everything we usually need for a shoot.
top tip: you can get fancy custom magnetic logo door signs made that you can throw on before you drive up to a corporate client job very impressive, but whip those off if ur parking somewhere, no need to attract attention what might be inside the van.
Hey bro! Big question, I bought the Same review as you but didn’t notice you bought the taillight with the camera attached, I found it online but the place installing it says it needs to be a taillight/camera with an aux cord, is that what you needed ? Or buying the tail light with the accessories that comes with it was enough ?
@@GriffinConway definitely like the transit vans and yours is very well thought out and I'd probably go with a similar layout as you. But I might go with a transit connect, or I might go with a Toyota Tundra with a secured tool box/camper shell/slide-out type thing (I want to be able to haul a camper as well, Also 4x4 would be nice). Still pondering the best approach.
@@GriffinConway Just got my Ford Transit Connect! Starting to build it out now! The main thing is that I have to keep it in my garage which is pretty small and many of my clients are corporate with parking garages, so the smaller size was a key factor.
Great video Griffin... super envious!!! I used to have Nissan NV SC cargo van, but never took advantage of leaving everything on the cart... would love to be able to pull out a couple carts and go!!! DC parking garages are really low so getting a full size van is often not optimal.
@@GriffinConway LA area is pretty flat and spread out so the height may not be as big and issue as other cities. I look forward to seeing how you finish building it out... the tires and rims are a nice touch from the standards... I added SumoSprings to my van when I had it to handle all the weight a little better than the stock.
Hey great video overview, I've been looking at the E-Transit for our local run-arounds, as well as having enough space to keep bulky gear, scrims, flags etc ready at hand. Did you end up getting the shelves? Any updates to the vehicle?
Can you link your ramp and shelves, and all the other van gear. I am working on mine right now and looking for other options. lol I've seen all those videos as well....more than once.
Hey Bryan! Thank you. I’ve been toying with the idea of adding a small double seat back there aka the prisoners seat 😂 (since it’s behind the partition). But for now, not yet..
Depends on the area. When I went to Vegas they had a special parking lot for vans and high vehicle, and in LA I usually can easily find an open air lot. Overall if I could do it again I think I would stay with the medium roof.
A nice V 1 build ! Quick question, in your kit you mentioned a 6x6 scrim which looks like a collapsible one. I am sure these ones are pricier compared to the standard frame, does the convenience of having the collapsible version make up for the price difference?
I linked it in that motocross video I did a few videos ago…it’s by chimera. I think it’s actually cheaper than most other 6x6 frame kits because it includes scrims and bounce/neg
I have a Voyager 36 cart, but I cant fit my 300D IIs sideways like that :/ Did you have to modify something to make that work? Mine is about 1/2" inch too narrow and the cases don't fit. According to the website the 36 and the 42 carts have the same width, but maybe they changed something in the design?
@@GriffinConway Yeah I figured I could do that 😂 Does the 600 fit normally or is that case the same withs as the 300D? The 600D is on my list for my next light.
Looks great, congrats. Just get a pouch for those pins cause they're just asking to be lost. Or worse, fall into some inaccessible crack and become an eternal source of rattling.
when you get a van you're doing well for yourself. I hope to get there some day soon.
Thanks John! I feel blessed to be able to have work to support this for sure.
It's been a minute with the new van. Curious how the new builds are going? Thanks!
Any new progress to share?
Can’t wait to see the final build! Did beefing up the wheels, etc help increase the maximum cargo weight capacity?
Nope haha. The ride improved quite a bit when I changed the shocks and added the lift, but the tires were to upgrade the look and help when I have jobs a little off the beaten path.
Man, I'm so proud of you guys! Congratulations and keep on delivering great content!
Thanks so much Aaron!
Nice Van and sure, the 2" lift is ALL ABOUT video production. hehe. My 130wb is on order. Can't wait to get mine!
I’m jealous!!! Excited to see what else you do with it
Thanks Cam! Appreciate you checking the video out
LOVED IT! Can't wait to see the rest of the build man. And thanks for checking out my build too!
Thanks for watching Tyler! Your build is awesome
I like the lift and wheels, great video, thanks for sharing...
Griffin!!!! Outstanding tour!
Thanks Ron!

The most eye opening part of this is learning Griffin is 6'5"! I didn't think he was short, but he is a giant!

I’ve been looking at that. I think I will eventually get it wrapped but that’s a great solution to keep it more low profile

Always like to ask people when you have a video production van what gear is it safe to leave in the van when it's hot outside such as cables etc?
Oooohhhhweeeeeee!!! I'm liking what I'm seeing brother! Makes me want a van now lol

That’s always the struggle. The medium roof that I have usually can’t do parking garages but I’ll settle for the in n out drive thru haha
