Yeah, I usually ski with poles, but the previous day I caught an edge and landed on my pole and snapped it in half. But no poles forces you to use them hips a bit more!
@@madladskiing I have had instructors say "Too much Hip Angulation, more knees." LOL I fellow student commented that in Europe an Instructor would be fine with it.
@@randytolle6706 haha agreed a bit of both depending on your school of thought. I also ride the monoski which is a completely different beast. Im also trying to get my hands on a Skwal, angulation of the knees is key for that when riding 0-0.
Poles without straps on is a good idea on the steep. A "Ski Pole Self Arrest" can be a life saver.
