It was written for Arcane. The bandmembers of imagine dragons actually play(ed) league of legends and they have colaborated before on the song warriors, which was written as lol worlds 2014 anthem (the song warriors that you mentioned as the other imagine dragons song you knew). League is great at getting awesome artists to colaborate with them (like Sting, lil Nas x, Miyavi, several kpop artists, Woodkid, Porter Robinson, Keke Palmer and many more)
there are actually 2 moments where you get a 1 frame switch to older jinx. The first is when the bug comes out of her mouth and the second is when she does the finger gun at the enforcers
5:49 the most hilarious thing is that of the 3 imagine dragon songs that you know of, 2 were written by Riot. Welcome to the Riot Music, the music company that also sometimes does game stuff.
This video and song are both great additions to the show. There was one small additional scene with Echo and Powder in the show, when Vander sends the alarm down to alert them to an enforcer coming down stairs. Echo and Powder are sitting on a sofa together.
To clarify I believe the music video isn't entirely canon from what I'm hear. So the relationship between the street kids is just kind of placeholder characters.
There was another scene in the show with Powder and Ekko together. When Vander dropped the monkey alarm, Powder and Ekko are sitting on her bed tinkering with her nail bombs. Ekko was the only character who was not only supportive but also interested in what Powder was good at. Because the two of them were the youngest and smallest, and both were far smarter than they were strong, Powder and Ekko were best friends as kids. They share a lot of traits when they’re older that are easily missed, particularly the graffiti/tagging/artwork. It’s too bad almost all of their interactions were cut in the end. Surprised you didn’t notice Powder flash to Jinx multiple times earlier in the video, especially because you paused on one of the frames by accident. McDonald’s Ketchup
The tales of runeterra vids give you a small peek at most of the main regions/areas of the world and theyre a pretty safe watch, would reccomend that the most
Hmmmm.... you made an interesting point about Marcus wife. I knew that she had died but never thought about HOW she died. If her death had something to do with the undercity then that would go a long way to explaining why Marcus was such a turd when it came to dealing with people from the undercity. Possibly, his wife was also an enforcer and maybe she was killed during the bridge battle from the opening scene in Episode #1? It would all be some very interesting backstory that I never thought about before.
Yeah but maybe he's onto something or maybe she was just ill or something. I'm afraid we won't be ever told, at least in the show. Maybe in one of the creators' tweet or reddit...
@@kaijingarou6526 Maybe we will. They made sure that we know that Marcus daughters name is "Ren". Why name a character if you aren't going to develop them. Rens parents are both dead... at least one was killed by someone from the undercity (Jinx). Marcus final words are "Tell my daughter...". Tell her what? The logical continuation is "... i love her". But it might be something entirely different. I think that Ren will have a storyline in Season2.
@@babette5918 There are other characters whose name we know and barely know the characters themselves in the show. I doubt they'll dive into the past of a secondary character who died in the previous season, but we'll see. Maybe you're right.
@@kaijingarou6526 After thinking about it more... I doubt it also. Just because we would need a time skip where Ren has grown up. As far as I can tell, the story for Season2 will continue at pretty much the same time where Season1 ended.
I took the kids hanging out like any schoolyard. There are cliques but kids mingle here and there. So they knew who Vi was but she didn't really know them. They were in the same gather spot from time to time but were doing their own thing and at least three of those were just kids were in Silco's orbit. Also, Ekko and Powder have a brief scene where you see they hang out with each other as the two tinkerers. It passes by in a flash, I think it's in episode 2.
I'd recommend World's Open 2021 next ... mix of animation w/ a glimpse of a life action undercity (and music). Won't be any spoilers for those who have watched the show.
K/DA Popstars, although not related to the series (for now), is a virtual K-Pop style band formed of female champions characters from the game. Popstars was also realised by Studio Fortiche, and is, as almost everything they do, visually stunning. If you like that visual style, just go for it and enjoy !
Kay-Dee-Ay, not Key-Dee-Ay. I'd still want you to see "Welcome Aboard". It's an alternate universe Jinx on a space ship, sort of a riff on Guardians of the Galaxy. It's just fun seeing Jinx be happy. But aside from that, the fictional bands (K/DA, True Damage, and Pentakill) are all quite enjoyable. K/DA has the strongest line of songs, I think. It was also interesting to find out (from the Behind the Scenes videos on Arcane) that K/DA only came about because the first attempt at a story for Arcane fell apart, and the animation studio needed work for all the animators they'd hired, while the Arcane team went back to square one in rewriting Arcane. And then the cinematics Riot puts together for the Worlds event each year are always great. Also, yes, JID is my favorite rapper right now. I'm also not hugely into the rap scene, but JID's style just always sounds so good.
12:00 Based on what we know about Vi (1. Vi has a short temper. 2. Vi loves Powder more than anyone else in the world), I imagine the thing that made her upset enough to yell at Powder in this scene, was that Powder did something that endangered herself, and Vi was yelling at her to be more careful, or think through the consequences of her actions, or something to that effect. She would never yell at Powder for screwing up a job, or making a mistake, or in some other way failing - except if it risked harm to Powder herself (or someone else from the group).
8:28 You should check out some of the live performances of the song (not as reactions, just in your own time). It's always impressive to see J.I.D do that verse on the spot, and in every performance you can just feel the (already high) energy increase tenfold after he gets through it.
In the scene where Violet is in her fighters stance then looks at the camera (presumably this was from Powders point of view) I imagine that the instructions to the animators were to "Show Vi looking at the camera with love in her expression". Seems like an impossible task, but they nailed it. Love is exactly what I see in her expression there.
A bit of context: This was released before the show, it served as a bit of a teaser. From the trailers we already knew Vi would end up in jail, from the game we already knew Vi would end up having a bit of a presence on Piltover and Jinx remain in Zaun, so I truly believe this music video is less about showing memories that actually happened, and more about giving the audience a false idea of what the show would be about, lowering the stakes and making us believe the conflict would be less dramatic and grand, so episode 3 would hit us all that much stronger and take us all by surprise. Most of us thought the scenes shown in the music video were scenes directly from the show, few expected they would make all new scenes just for the music video. They did the same with the trailers for the show and for each arc, painting a picture, making us expect something and then showing something very different in the show itself. Like you said, I don't think this is really canon. I doubt Vi looking exactly like in the show, same age, would be showing Silco's goons how to fight and then immediately forget who they were in the show. And from what we see on the show, I doubt Vi would lose composure so easily that she would push or hit powder when upset. She seem to have more control over her emotions than that. I love how protective you are of Powder, I was a bit upset that you were so unfair to Vi though, but it was the heat of the moment, I too felt like I really wanted to hug and console Powder. I hope people show you the lovely fanart of Powder growing up and Silco being a dad to her, it's very sweet! Or the Alternate Universes where everyone is going to school and Powder is really good buddies with Ekko. Fanart like that eases the pain a bit 🥲
I mean even in the game, Vi`s technically a hero and her relationship with Caitlyn is endearing and all but she`s not exactly the nicest person and Ekko and Jinx both regard her as a sell-out of Zaun to Piltover(Not without justification either). Also, Vi basically represents police brutality in the game and is basically an abusive big sister in the show so there`s that.
@@aspieanarchist5439 Not really, she's not shown to be an abusive big sister. She definitely fucked up BIG TIME once but that's it? She spends the rest of the show trying to atone for that mistake. Also, obviously the characters in the show don't behave or even follow the same paths as in the game. Thank god, LoL Vi is a pretty terrible character. LoL Jinx is extremely superficial and boring too. So happy for the depth in the show.
I also think that seeing this before ep. 7 could be "interesting". In the series, until ep. 7, Jinx/Powder don't really interact with each other. But in this video they are always together, playing, flipping the police, learning how to fight, then seeing this and they see them fight each other until the death, heavy!

remember that she always ruined everything and in the video you can see that they run away and are later arrested and searched... something went wrong because of her and that's why she gets upset with her... what the video shows is that Violet had a very strong temperament and he sometimes got physical with her and with the environment.

At worst, _one_ video has Vi and Caitlyn working as a team. Oh no! Anyway, Legends Never Die, Warriors, Rise... all great videos. If I had to put one singular video forward for you to watch, it would be their Phoenix video. A lot of their music videos really do have a lot of... persevering through adversity energy to them, which I love, and Phoenix features players who lost to the previous year's champion at different levels of the competition, and them having to push back against self-doubt following that. I absolutely love that one. But, if you want a bit more of your fox girl, you should watch the A New Dawn cinematic... and really anything with K/DA. And _yes_, as much as you want to avoid spoilers, I've seen at least one video that gives a bit of an overview of the world that League of Legends is set in, even if it was primarily in the context of the MMORPG that they've been working on. Something like that might be worthwhile to give you at least a "view from 10,000 feet" overview of who the major players within the world are.
first of all if, you want to do every single one or most maybe do it all at once, or multiple at once as some are only 2-3 min long, but my personal take is there are just to many to do individual vids on, up to you just a heads up there's a lot can't wait to see them.
