Don't forget since 2022 Merc never delivered a car that works on day 1, Lewis has been the one experimenting to develop it, while George mostly just focused on race weekend setup with what's there. All seasons with George Lewis starts slow, then once they stop experimenting then Lewis can focus on race setup and the results change. This year was very odd though, they way George was finding performance over Lewis was just really sketchy - the inability for Lewis to move forward in quali between Q2 and Q3 was so blatantly obvious when compared to ALL other drivers on the grid - I'm convinced that something is going on behind the scenes. In Saudi Arabia Lewis said during free practice sessions he tried every setup possible with the car to better understand what needs to be done to improve. It's really a shame that Lewis is rewarded by this 2nd class treatment he has had to endure despite being a professional and putting in his work to help the team move forward. I'll be leaving Mercedes when Lewis goes red. They have become a political organization - no different to Red Bull in my opinion
you know the funny thing we now believe Toto was always like Christian Horner, but Sir Lewis's success and positivity gave him the good guy cover. He was happy for people to have a go at Sir Lewis while he was pretending to be rising above it all, but now we see him for who he was and what 2016 and 2021 were really about.

Things would not be like this if he was still around, he kept Toto in check for the most part, and would have put Russell in his place very quickly. They intentionally left the exact amount of fuel to make weight. And the earlier suspicions of them fooling with Hamilton’s car on strat and setup is leaving them with less viable excuses . I anticipate more reckless driving from Russell , his job is on the line and he gonna be desperate to get ahead in the WDC .
