@@vi14753You just found out F1 is unfair?
I don't mean this in a critical way. But F1 is not a sport, at least not the way most people perceive it, it's not soccer or volleyball. It's a golden club of 20 most fortunate people in the world, who were born in the right place at the right time and all the stars aligned for them to be there. Stroll happened to be born where he was and that predetermined him to be in the F1, that's all he had to do and therefore he has right to be there, and I'm far from being his fan. We can criticize, but it's absolutely futile and goes against the basic principles of F1.

@@kakhakthe fact that you and others believe Carlos is overrated is evidence that he's underrated.
In his first year of F1, he and Max were teammates at Toro Rosso. Carlos was driving better than Max.
Max was promoted to Redbull because Jos demanded it or he'd take Max out of their driver line-up and farm him out to another team.
Max also had more potential as he matured, so Redbull put him in the main team and let him mature while in there.

Does it help them in a longer term as he's obviously in the twilight years and does it perhaps put even more pressure on the team - in a team that creates its own high pressure out of thin air every year. And if they concentrated on getting the engineering right, they had a driver line-up that would have been able to deliver anyway. Is Hamilton going to be enough to plug that gap? However much Charles breaks him in qually (assuming he does), I'm sure Hamilton's racecraft and self-confidence will allow him to get the better of him results wise.

He doesn't have what it takes to be a champ. He has the raw pace no doubt but not much else. He cracks under pressure, he can't dictate terms to the team and he can't come up with strategy to help his own case. He sulks and agrees with whatever bs the team offers. Unless everything lines up perfectly, I don't see him ever becoming a champion.
