About the time this happened to David. My ex abducted my 2 yr old twin daughters to Colombia. The North Carolina Judge said she can take my US citizen daughters to Colombia for 28 day vacation. I informed the Judge that her visa is void and if she leaves the Country she cannot come back. She knows she can't come back and she plans to leave the US knowing she has no intention on coming back. Judge didn't heed my words and told me. Well the children have a right to know their family. I said "What if she doesn't bring them back". She (the judge) said well that will be kidnapping. 28 days later I stand before the Judge and tell her "Well she didn't bring them back just like I informed the court". and the Judge says: "Well they are out of our jurisdiction, there is nothing we can do about it." and she washed her hands of it. Took me 8 years and over $45,000 in legal fees and other to get my daughters back when they was 10. They now have been with me for nearly 4 years. The courts and the Hague Convention was absolutely useless. Other channels had to be utilized in order to successfully get them back.
