Spent a couple of hours here a few Sundays ago. I'd hitched a ride to Maidstone with my son. So while he was working I came here for a couple of hours and watched the trains go by. Well done Mr Boogie, another superb video. 🤓
Nice video again. The stopping service to Victoria is at 4 tph in peak hours and 2 during the rest of the day but they reverted to starting them all from Orpington rather than starting 2 from Bromley South as they did for a few years. So to a degree it is still turn up and go. What is odd is that they seem to have kept the hourly(?) semi-fast Victoria via Denmark Hill timetabled to leave just 6 minutes behind the Blackfriars stopper. Inevitably it gets held up by Catford and crawls through to Denmark Hill. Very frustrating if you haven't studied the timetable or if that is your Victoria train from earlier stops.
As a regular off peak traveller up to London, I now have to plan my arrival at Bromley South to avoid the possibility of having to wait half an hour from x.33 to x.03. The x.34 stopper serves as a backstop in case the fast is delayed and gets you to Victoria at the same time as the now missing x.48. As you say the x.00 via Denmark Hill is a waste of time from Bromley South except in cases of disruption. The spread of services might be better if the x.18 was dropped instead of the x.48 or if the off peak stoppers were to run on the opposite quarter hours to the current arrangement. Coming back from Victoria in the afternoon seems quite random.
700007 was in another one of your videos heading to Bedford I believe you were at Hendon Station ? I stand corrected and I guess 700007 would be an easy spot just because it’s 700007 Thanks for taking the time to record edit & post
I've never been into computer games etc. I prefer activities in the real world. Played a lot of sports when I was younger. Now enjoy art galleries, concerts and ballroom dancing.
Southeastern should receive the remainder of the Class 707s transferred from South Western Railway once the new Class 701 Arterios have started operating on the suburban services in December. And apparently Southeastern wants to replace the Class 465 and Class 466 Networkers with new trains. But I doubt it if the Class 465 and Class 466 would be replaced.
