    Great to see a RV channel that started out showing helpful hints to newbie's come back to the same topics again. Most channels will start out helping like that but then keep getting deeper into other topics without coming back and covering the basics again.

    I don't believe you can beat a good old fashioned paper map to get a journey mapped out. Thank you for including this in your thoughts and idea. I think too many people forget these are still available and worth the cost.

    To the subject of lights: if you have a burned out bulb even if it's on the side or a high center cluster it has to work. If there's a light....it has to be functional. You probably won't get a ticket but it gives a Officer a legitimate reason to make contact with you. I'm a retired L.E.O. and yes......we do pay attention to the small things. It's all about safety.

    As usual, great advise. You are right about the lights, parkway, tunnels, paper maps and gas compartment. I would like to add...generally the word "parkway" would mean no trucks. In New Jersey, an RV is considered a passenger and not a truck and is and always been allowed. However, there are still a few arched overpasses that are around 12 feet on the extreme left and right due to the arch, so watch out and be careful. Everyone should at least check exactly where your GPS is leading you on a map to make sure you have put in the right destination and that the route suits your needs. The GPSs are great, but not perfect. Think about turning a two hour trip into a five hour trip. Truck maps are great, the ones I buy have laminated pages for great durability. As far as the drain cap, I have a motorhome with the gate valve at the very end. I don't have any leakage. Putting on the gate cap is not necessary and only adds to problems. I have hit gate caps on the highway with damage to my rig. Too many people loose them while traveling. My two cents.

    Had to look at Parkways, I wasn't sure what was it... (Used correctly, the term "parkway" means a land area dedicated to both recreation and the movement of vehicles--not just a road, but a park that contains a road. It is limited access, and the lanes are sited in relation to the topography, not in relation to each other.) Thanks great video as always.

    • @kcgunesq
      @kcgunesq Год назад +1

      Generically, maybe. But every city will define them differently. For example, I believe that locally, parkways are roads that are (a) under the control of the park department and (b) connect parks to parks or major streets to parks. But that is probably just a local thing.

    • @Gmac705
      @Gmac705 Год назад +4

      You can't. I have the same thing and it doesn't work that way. The reason you have to fill them up with the big propane bottle upside down is because you need the liquid propane to go from one to the other. The propane that comes out from the grill connection will always be in its gas form.
