Prince Richard of Gloucester was the quiet, studious, "nerdy" brother (Prince William was the 'hot guy'), but in my opinion Prince Richard turned out to be the best of the royal family. He was crazy in love with Birgitte from day one, and fortunately Queen Elizabeth gave consent to the marriage with no problem whatsoever. (Because Prince Richard is in the LOS her consent was necessary). Both the Duke and Duchess are exemplary in their work and their public behavior, and they are affectionate with their children, who all turned out well.
