    Awesome water bowl. That should make life a little easier for sure.

      It already has! Really glad I stumbled across it or I would've ended up just buying another float valve and bucket to break again.

      I actually stumbled accross it by accident. So happy I did because it is SO much better than the crappy plastic stuff.

      @@easyworkacresyeah, I bet it is. Those plastic waterers last for like a season haha. I use 100% rubber animal drinking bowls and they have lasted indefinitely

      @@mayshomesteadchronicles we had a rubber bowl as well it just didn’t ride well with the moveable set up. It’s worked great in our brooder feeder though!

      We just moved the coop today with it on there and it was great. Didn’t have to worry about a bucket dragging the ground or taking anything apart. It was nice.

    It looks like you have a lot of birds, do you think one of these would handle 50 birds so long as they never ran it dry?

    • @easyworkacres
      @easyworkacres  26 дней назад

      We have 160 birds and have it ran to a water collection tank. Stays filled up and all the birds have water! So it should be more than enough for 50. Thanks for watching!

    I got one a couple of months ago, I bought a older version at the agricultural store, the one i bought had little bolts for the water valve cover, it couldn't be attached to the wall because then there was no way to install the bolts , the hinged swing door is a upgrade, I ordered 2 new ones for a new chicken run im building. Best animal waterer out there.

      Sorry the first one you got didn’t workout but glad the new ones are doing well!

    • @MosaicHomestead
      @MosaicHomestead 6 месяцев назад

      @easyworkacres it worked out, I welded a movable stand out of 1x1 square tubing, I can easily flip over the waterer for a fast cleanup, it works great, I ordered 2 more just because I like them so much, I'm also using off grid water.

      @@MosaicHomestead thats a pretty awesome lever system! Ours has a drain plug in it so it swirls like a toilet bowl and flushes everything out when you pull the plug. But the tip lever idea is awesome and looks super efficient!

      I haven’t had problem with it being too hot anytime I’ve messed with it or cleaned it but it’s not in direct sun for too long throughout the day being mounted to the coop. Thanks for watching!

    Take a sawzall and connect all the drill holes on one board, and you wouldnt have to take the bolt all the way out. You could just loosen it enough to rotate it around.

    Use chicken water nipples they’re 100% maintenance free and doesn’t require cleaning… also the hens are enjoying fresh clean water every day..

    • @easyworkacres
      @easyworkacres  День назад

      We’ve tried nipples. No matter what brand they always seem to leak, break, or not work all together. Not sure why but maybe it’s because we have 150 hens they just don’t hold up to the amount of use.🤷‍♂️

    Do the chickens jump up there and take a crap in the bowl? That’s my only concern with those bowls other then breeding mosquitoes

    • @easyworkacres
      @easyworkacres  3 месяца назад

      No it’s at a height that’s off the ground enough that they don’t step I. The bowl and not high enough that they have to climb to drink. It still gets dirty over time with the dirt they have on their beaks but it’s super easy to clean. I haven’t seen any mosquito issues and we’ve had a water tank on the front of our coop for 3 years. Maybe the chickens help keep them at bay.🤷‍♂️

    Hi nice system. But can you give me you opinion on a system that is self maintained,you dont have to do nothing.Just plug it in and attach the water line. This is the name on you tube (automatic self maintained water system for chickens) Let me know what you think. Thanks

    • @easyworkacres
      @easyworkacres  2 месяца назад

      That’s a pretty sweet set up he’s got. That wouldn’t work on our moveable coop as it doesn’t have electric so we would need to figure out a whole solar panel set up to do that. Also it seems like a lot of moving parts that could get damaged on a moveable coop like ours. Otherwise it’s super cool and looks like it works great. As far as cleaning goes it takes about 30 seconds a week to pull the drain plug and hit it with a brush so it’s not too time consuming to us.

    has anyone ever tried to use an actual toilet... seems like it could be perfect... you just flush it once a day and it auto fills.

    • @easyworkacres
      @easyworkacres  Месяц назад

      Could work as long as you make it where it will autofill the bowl as the chickens drink it down. If it functions only how a normal toilet functions the bowl would get frank dry and won’t refill until it’s flushed.
