- Rebuilt in a HSV GTS-R theme, was caught wind of Paul’s VS Commodore at the recent Holden Drag Nationals. This was a factory 6cylinder car, but it’s nice to see the Holden V8 in place. The 355 stroker still retains the iconic banana manifold, but is boosted by a Vortech V3 blower that spins up to around 14psi. For that little bit extra grunt, a 75hp nitrous wet system is fitted. This is all still governed via a Delco ECU that puts out around 600hp to the wheels. Backing it up is a built 4L60E box and full spool 31-spine Borg warner rear end. Hats off to Paul for building this car himself, its proven to be a winner .

This Man is a God!! Everything as a mechanic we were taught about a EFI Holden V8's that wouldn't work just proven wrong. Banana manifold, small throttle body, no intercooler. Your a Legend in my eyes, great work, very inspiring.

For what looks like a solid basic 355 combo and blower this thing is sorted and super fast 150mph trap speed says that this think makes a genuine 600rwhp, which through the 5k stall and 4l60e is mega power

That's pretty impressive considering its still running the bunch of banana's intake, hat's off to oldmate!
Those old bananas are actually really good. I found them to make a much better torque curve than some of the aftermarket manifolds, the engineers knew what they were doing.
Their only letdown is the elbow and throttle size. But you can get ones from Star that increase the size.

I wonder what ever happened to the Holden v8 casting patterns? They will be gold in the future, If DART could get a hold of them I think even the Americans would buy them just for something different.
@@paullee8772 There's a few Larry Perkins engines floating around that he personally modified in the Holden casting foundry and those who have them wouldn't know what they have got. I think he mainly put more meat where it was needed for more strength.
