I don't care if they are Marines or 'Legion'. They are 'on our side' and pretty hard soldiers. Let us not forget that they saved our soldiers at Dunkirk, and Bir Hachiem and countless other places. Vive la France.
There are marines.
Merci
finally after 13 years i found a legit Englishmen! Thank you sir.
I'm a U.S. Marine and i thinks it's awsome how you guys have this tradition of songs and marching.
All respects for your services
Les troupes de marine (TDM) were created in 1622. They have been all over the world for centuries. They keep their traditions, songs and add new all the time. 😎
Singing allows to march for hours
And they have some really deep songs too.. the strasbourgeois hits different once you know the meaning
I'm a Marine too and it breaks my heart how we no longer sing when marching or running. What happened? (2/7, 1974-1976)
Torough selection, hard training, patriotical devotion and human values, this is what in my mind makes the "grandeur" of the french army. Proud to have France as a neighbour...
Merci Voisin :)

I served for 5 years in the 2nd RIMa, one of my fave chant, my best brothers in arm were wallisians and tahitians. 2 of my 3 sons have polynesian name (tamatoa and Fenua). Fenua was my best friend and he comes to sing that song with me at my mom's funeral.
Manuia! thanks for posting this vid!
Amazing how all those men can serve all from different lands
Trained with and faught beside French Legioniers and Marines…absolutely fantastic soldiers every dang one of them…It was an honor to serve with them….

This was the regiment i served with back in the 90s still sends a chill down my spine 20years on

American of French descent here, I thank you for your service and want you to know:
Our ancestors won the "100 year war" against England.
William the conqueror decisively invaded England.
Napoleon was brilliant but made the mistake of getting caught in Russia during the winter.
I really do like the English but I'm sick of individuals bashing the French military and saying all Americans hate the French.
No not all of us do, just the idiotic fat assess.
Nice, I'm French with American descent (mother side) who was of Russian descent
John Smithn
ISIS was a mistake created by NATO though, and the mistakes are still being made with the US now funding a new rebel group in Syria. If only our stupid leaders would notice...
@TheSaintAza "Dunkirk brings me the evidence that the French soldier is one of the best in the world. The French Army probably saved Great-Britain from the defeat, allowing their professional army to reach the English Coasts".
General Georg Von Kuchler
Those crazy "frogs"! I shall never forget the day after 9-11, when the French news papers carried the headline, "Today, we are all Americans". Looking great, mes amis, Vive la France!
Well, lots of american forget it.
Medias and news paper yes, but real Frensh peoples would say "Fuck the USA".
Maybe because US people have spent the 10 last years insulting us? No?
Well, we have been fighting each others for the last 8 centuries with the brits
Maybe because US people have spent the 10 last years insulting us? No, the last 30 years haha
It's great that the current French Marine troops kept their traditions from when they were the Colonial troops.
Traditions are the soul of military units.
This is beatiful. The men look well disciplined and sung perfectally. By the looks of things, they are doing a good job.
The song is very song almost mournfull while the camera man did a great job following the soldiers. Watching them sing while walking away is a powerful sight.
Thanks for sharing my video.
The weak combativeness of the French troops is a legend :
Légend orchestrated by the Nazis (the winners make the pictures) and simply resumeby the Anglosaxons.
in fact, 15 000 killes and injured by day during de the battle of France.
Daily loss of fighting higher than fighting staligrade, normandy, verdun ....
Results of combatant losses (killed, injured on both sides, per day)
Verdun (Feb 21, 1916 - Dec 18, 1916) 3000 killed and injured
Stalingrade (17 Jul 42-02 Feb 43) 8000 killed and injured,
Normandy (06 June 44-30 aug 44) 8000 killed and injured,
Battle of France (10 May-25 June 40) 15,000 killed and injured
The England survived just because it's an island, and the USA arrived when the germans troops were in USSR but american troops didn't mean to beat the german when they where with equal forces. So yes, France lose one time, but in 1940 none army was be able to confront to Nazi germany.
Check you're notes, France lost 60 000 soldiers for the Battle of France.
@@guillaumelagourde5818 You speak about killed and he spoke about Killed and wounded soldiers, then he is right and you're wrong.

Trained well, fighting like lions and disciplined from head to toe. French are one of the finest when shit hits the fan.
@@azukianko487 Yep. We're an old country. Since King Clovis in last years of the 5 century, our name is France. Franc means free and free to speech. That is why we was attacked by all empires (which means dictature) and today by american empire.

@Ouija1210 to pretend that the vietmin was poorly equipped is either to be of a total ingorance, or of a bad time evident.
I lean for the second solution.
You seem to forget that China falls into the hands of the Communists and that it arms the Vietmin.
Anti aircraft parts, rifles, grenades, machine guns, machine guns and artillery in very large numbers.
@Ouija1210 France is letting go of Indochina because it is the spirit of the times.
She wishes to negotiate in a situation of strength and provokes this battle of Dien Bien phu.
@Ouija1210 Do not forget that the French high command had done this battle because it has already twice broken the vietmin:
a first time in Nassan, a second time in hoa binh.

These are Marines and as for the French Foreign Legion be advised there's always been many French in it since its creation... All officers first of all, plus approximately 1/3 of the Legionnaires are Frenchmen... despite the myths broadcasted that there are only Foreigners and that Legion is kind of a mercenary force. You're far from reality if you think so, Legion is just a corps of the French regular army (ie. not special forces).
Vive le France!

californique means litteraly "califor is fucking" in French. Sounds weird
Vive la France! Good days

Im American and i think this is badass
It is in Polynesian. It talks about a soldier leaving his homeland by sea. It's the French marines' chant. The French Marines ("Troupes de marine") were originally colonial troops, that's why they are singing in Polynesian.
Really? They are singing in Polynesian ? Wow no disrespect ❤
@@paulworgan6599might be wrong but I think it might be a mixture of French polynesia and French

Thanks a lot ! I'm a French Marine ! Good luck for you're job !
Impressive soldiers. Glad they are on 'our side'.
Much nicer singing like this that the cadence calling of US marines. Helps to engender a high esprit de corps.
Only the French could turn cadence into something both masculine and beautiful. You should hear the crap that the USMC is stuck singing for cadence.
thanks buddy :)
@FRANCISCO POLLARDO wanna talk about yorktown battle?
@FRANCISCO POLLARDO read it and stop talking like a stupid child please... :
There were 53 major conflicts in Europe. France will have been a belligerent in 49 of them and the United Kingdom in 43. Of the 185 battles that France has fought over the past 800 years, its armies will have won 132 of them and lost 43, leaving only 10 indecisive battles Thus giving the French military the record of victories in Europe and therefore in the world. France is the nation that has participated in the greatest number of war and battle throughout the history of Humanity.
But France is also the one that colonized England in 1066, this Francized country for centuries to the point that 40% of English words are of French origin. The one that dismantled the 900-year-old Holy Roman Empire. Allowing Germany to be born 65 years later. That which allowed the independence of the USA by fighting in America against the English. The country of "Dynasties" Many European kings have French ancestries. - Under Saint Louis France is the richest and most populous country in Europe and the most developed intellectually and artistically influencing all of Europe. The one that dominated Europe for several centuries making her royal court the most popular and appreciated Kings of Europe. The country of humanism and human rights and the first modern European democracy. But France is something else: - France is the second nation in the world to have made the most inventions and discoveries. - It was the 2nd largest colonial empire in the world, spreading across all continents and oceans. - It has the world's second largest maritime area behind the US and could legitimize some areas ranking it as the world's No. 1 maritime possession across the Globe. - It is the largest nation in the European Union in terms of area. - First European Agricultural Power and 4th world. - 4th World Military Power and 1st European. - 5th World Economic Power. - Permanent member of the UN alongside the USA, Russia, China and England. - 2nd industrial and commercial power of Europe. France is also the third country in the world to have manufactured the atomic bomb. France is also a space power, the third nation to conquer space, the most important space budget of the European agency. France is also famous for its gastronomy around the world. France is also the first nation with regard to Art. But it is also the Francophonie: The French language is the second language taught in the world, La Francophonie brings together 49 countries around the world grouped into permanent council of La Francophonie meeting every 2 years. - French is today the 5th most spoken language in the world with 274 million speakers - French is the 3rd language of business in the world - French is the 4th language of the internet.

The song is in tahitian indeed.Tahiti in the french polynesia (118 islands) is the home base of the Regiment d'Infanterie de Marine du Pacifique (RIMaP-P).It's a military song created for the Battaillon du Pacifique, its says stuffs like: Here's the volunteer child you called, they're on the track ready to embark, to a place where death is wandering about...etc...
Althought hundred of thousands of French men and women of every age have bravely fought the Germans as the "Resistance" and often paid the consequences. There were also the "Free Frenchs" which were troops of French soldiers and voluteers leaving France to join the General de Gaulle and the allies and help them fight and regain their country. That's NOT cowardly at all.
God be with them all.
tres beau chant
I think I´d prefer these blokes to the Americans if I were a native of "Afgha". They sing better.
"Te Sitima" another beautifull polysian army song
Thanks dude! Your army is very good too!

Yes it's Polynesian Song ( From Wallis & Futuna )
This song is "No toku here" from French Polynesia ( Tuamotu ) not Wallis & Futuna.
It's a French Navy Infantry (ex-Colonial troops) chant, it is sung in Polynesian :
Notoku here, ia kotou nae
No toku alofa, ia oi ia oe
Teie toku here, teie toku alofa
A noto mai no toe, fari mai e fari mai
Fatifati te tino, fatifati te kome
Te maka takataka , te mana oe

I agree with you the history of France and England were linked since praticaly 1000 years now often against each other and sometimes by being allies. Today with the treaty of 2010 our two countries are very close .

Do you see the golden anchor on their BLUE BERET ? those are 'troupes de marines' or marines depending of the pronounciation you prefer.
@dieMaddie71 The "Troupes de marines" (which were called "Troupes coloniales" from 1900 to 1958) have been separated from the navy since 1831 (and that's why there are also Fusiliers-marins who are part of the navy). They still have the anchor as their badge as a reminder of their origins though. Every marine infantry and artillery regiments have the anchor.
How do you stay in-step to a song like that? Also: Size-Order, ever hear of it?
Dreaded88 in the french army officers and NCOs march at the front, that’s why the size order is fcked-up
@TheCowboyfan67 If I was in a tight corner, and there was a choice of who came to dig me out, I would be pretty happy to see these guys. They are professionals. Hard soldiers.
People forget that French forces were in Iraq from the start, as well as A-stan. And they are deployed in places that Americans have not heard of, Chad, Niger and so on. All part of the same fight, but not so well reported.
@TheCowboyfan67 we're in A-stan since 2001 we lost 72 soldiers over there, 2 last guys were KIA 3 days ago in an ambush from insurgeants. Our soldiers do the best they can to do their jobs and help our allies so we're not over there to laugh or surender or whatever you can think
@TheSaintAza "The lengthened defense of the French garrison played a major role in the re-establishment of the British troops in Egypt.
