Kevin thank you for this video. I have a problem. A guy at the Advance Auto replaced my air filter and the hose coming off the compartment on the right got knocked off down near the silver part of the front of the car. Now the car won't start. I will pay money for your advice. My feeling is that as this is a Countryman S (Turbo) that debris may have entered the engine and damaged it. TIA.
Adrienne sorry to hear of your current situation. It sounds like the intake pipe going to the turbo has come off during their filter installation. While it is possible that debris did enter I’m not too worried about that. But with that pipe not connected your car will not run period. You are in luck because it is right on top. There is a silver band around that pipe called a worm clamp next to that silver part called a turbo, if you loosen that you should be able to slide that pipe back on. Just reach around there first to make sure nothing is in the way. Then tighten it back down again. You can then drive the car to a garage and have them take a look to make sure all is ok. The car won’t start because attached to the airbox is an airflow sensor the cars computer needs to see air pass through that sensor for the car to run with that pipe disconnect the car cannot suck in air through that sensor.
