I won't admit it and I'm not hating. The guy has been in the league for what 5 years? He's got a long career ahead of him. If he keeps this going obviously he will be in that conversation.
Mariners fan here. Ohtani is one of the most entertaining players I've ever seen play ANY sport. Glad he's playing here in America. He should go down as the greatest player from Japan and one the all-time greats. Respect.
I feel we're watching something that will never happen again. It's still unbelievable that anyone could be good at the two hardest things in baseball. For those that can't understand it, imagine that someone could win the men's 100m in running and swimming. Two completely separate skills that no other player can do to the level he does.
I have never seen a baseball player or manager make a negative comment about him. This is because they know how tough it is to make it in the MLB, either pitching or hitting. That is why they cannot stop praising Ohtani. People who are negative about him either don't really know baseball, have no imagination, or have feelings that have nothing to do with baseball.
Actually, no. He had an incredibly April (he was robbed of player of the month!) but struggled in May, especially on the mound. But he is still Shohei Ohtani and he will persevere and come out on top. The fruits of talent and hard, hard work.
That's what makes it even more impressive. Everything in this video was in the month of May which is considered "struggling". His struggling month is better than most good month.
@@airtioteclint What???? Dude you need to look at his last five starts, not exactly hall of fame stuff, people need to relax and let's see what his numbers look like after the first half of the season
@@carloshambrick2586 are you simple. I don't have to go look at anything. His accomplishment are shown in this very video. And the point was it was a bad month for him. A bad month with him on cycle watch TWICE as a starting pitcher. A bad month of the most strikeouts in the league, that's in a bad month. That's the point.
Grateful to RUclips, MLB and personal uploads that I get to see these Ohtani highlights with slight delays all the way from Australia, a cricket-playing nation. We never had these immediate replays during the Jordan era and its almost overwhelming to ride the wave of Greatness building.
Easy AL Player of the Month. Easy MVP! Shohei Ohtani is just dazzling on both sides of the ball. He's just getting started! And the kabuto homer celebration is pretty cool but when it's Shohei it's always cute haha
I've never been to this MLB channel until i discoverd Ohtani in 2021, and ever since, this is my go-to channel every single day and where i spent the most time vs all other YT channels combined !
Please enjoy, let’s hope he continues to do great things. Being 4 generation Japanese American I’m rooting for him to have a great career. Also, bring America and the world together under the banner of Baseball!
Legend has it Ohtani is actually Paul Bunyan, both known for their strength, speed, & skill. Someone once said Steph Curry has that MJ effect. Michael Jordan made us believe we can fly & Steph Curry made us believe you can shoot from anywhere. I am here to say, Ohtani validates ALL of that but in baseball form.
It's great against righties, it seems to not be as effective when it runs in on lefties. I remember a stretch about 3-4 weeks ago when lefties were just crushing it. But it's freaking lethal against righties
One thing that bothers me, and this is on the media/fans, is the obsession with HR's. His average has dropped almost 35 points in the last month because, I believe, MLB would rather have him be a HR monster than a well rounded player with a .310 ave. Instead they want a 45+ HR guy with a .235 ave because HR's make the nightly news highlights. Like the NFL, MLB is all about money. Personally, I would much rather see Ohtani hit a bases loaded clearing double than a solo HR, but if he did both of those in one game, which do you think would make the 11PM sports highlights?
This is what a living legend looks like, kiddos. Savor it because it may not happen again in your lifetime.
Doing it all and still be humble, i respect a person who lets the world talk about him then himself!!!
@@josephya5815 Well said! He's a great role model.
