i think J dilla would hate this. Taking soul and humanity out of music is like his anti thesis. I still dont know if you are sarcastic most of the time tbh you sound very monotone (at 9:20 for example). You seem very skilled at video making tho.
Again, by far, the best content on RUclips at the moment. And believe me, I watch a lot of great channels. Keep it up, at this point, the video in itself is a work of art.
This is such a rare channel, I can simply listen without watching and be whisked away, or I could watch and not listen and experience the same thing, amazing!
as a diehard dilla fan, everything nice and hits the spot except his voice, that ain't no dilla, not even close, but I'm sure we're gonna hear something better in a couple of years. cheers, great job!
8:03 is magical wow. i love the AI "smearing" effect, its something very unique and unheard before and i dont even know how it could be resembled with effects. now the question is if theres a longer version of this output :)
I use it and most them are just distorted remixes of dilla beats, no original samples or drum breaks. Still a pretty cool idea tho, made some cool tribal stuff but they all just sound like remixes of the “People” beat
ai Roger linn doesn't know what he is talking about, human drummers can play EVERY SINGLE drum patter that Dilla ever played on the MPC. especially drummers like Chris Dave lol
Another masterpiece by Nobody. Keep up the great work bud! I hope the music labels don't come for your channel like they did for 'There I Ruined It'. Are you worried about that at all?
The thought and intention that goes into this process is genius. It’s profoundly unique in my opinion, combining instruction on “what could be done” and the skill and technique to actually do something. I think it’s beautiful in the same way I think David Lynch’s films are beautiful 💕
I don't care if AI can make music. It has no soul, no life experience, no losses, no heartbreaks, it doesn't understand jealousy, envy, desire, love. You can hear it in the music and see it in the images, no soul.. Poor imitations of the human material its been trained on.
Can you create good art? If not then you have no soul. The A.I. doesn't need to have suffered loss to create something that can be appreciated. Some of this music sounded kinda weird but as A.I. advances it will get better
Great video!! Heard the line at the end 'Beneath the neon lights' and it made me laugh. I don't know whats up with ChatGPT always throwing that in. Lately I started writing my prompts with 'Pleaseeeee don't use that phrase'. Did anyone else notice this?
I clicked this ready to be full of older hiphop purist righteous indignation but you really did your research and worked hard to pay tribute to Dilla here. This AI genie ain't going back into the lamp. At least you're doing it with respect 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Yes, sometimes it overfits a bit. I corrected it with more training on the model trained with all the beats, and now it generates much more original beats. Try it out!
All this videos shows is that you have no understanding of what music is, who J Dilla was, and shows you would rather play with machines than understand the depths of human life and creativity. Donuts is a collage of life and a last message from J Dilla. The arrogance needed to think code can even come close to it is unmatched.
U got cancelled or sth? 300 views in 3 hrs?! WTH? Also, how come the Shaigs sounds better than Dillai? I feel like that shouldn't be possible, never mind legal. Also, how come I chose THIS name when Dillai Lama was available? So many questions.
I guess it was only 2 hours, but still, there should at least be an extra 0 in that view count by now. Is it a protest/strike against the adblock slowdown?
It's because the Shaggs were just naturally dumb music, charming but dumb. AI is still pretty dumb. JD was genius. Coltrane was genius. AI will never be genius. It is still just 0s and 1s, with nothing between
some concepts are hard to describe in text though (good example from pic AI; the pose of a subject), as a musician myself i'm waiting much more for stuff like audio to audio, something that can run on a local machine, and ways to creatively constrain the output with my own drafts (like what controlnet does for image generation in stable diffusion)
Ain’t gonna lie, man you do way too much talking in the beginning. Everybody in the comments ain’t shit for lying. Y’all know this is trash. I will say, your video editing skills are top tier.
You should be getting permission and paying royalties for invoking Dilla's name and likeness for promotional purposes. Despite everything you did to emulate the man's sound, you couldn't even capture what makes it interesting.
I love Nobody And The Computer... and I haven't watched the video yet. But f this idea haeavy. I don't want to hear AI Thriller, Dark Side Of THe Moon, or whatever classic. An inspired project or maybe a remix album for your own listening. But if I turn on RUclips and see something like this I'm flagging the vid instantly. Like leave it alone especially with AI despite advancements. You heard the album like I did and loved it, but it should be something different. Imagine your favorite TV show continued with AI voicrovers and stick figures. You'd be pissed. Instead of hearing the greatness that is Donuts, you hear Waffles watered down with too much syrup. Not supporting the foundation or Ma Dukes. I''m all for introducing AI in music production but not to do this. No shade I'm subscribed and look forward to new content. But please don't put this in the ether.
Imagine a world where everything that's great and original must be carved in stone, frozen, derivatives strictly forbidden, inspiration policed and punished... I wonder if J Dilla's music could have come about in such a world in the first place. Everything gets watered down, copied, marketed to mediocre masses. I wonder how many humans are doing a terrible job of being truly inspired by J Dilla in this very instant.
@@AndersHansgaardI've watched the video in it's entirety now. But I'm still uneasy about it. And take away from the artist's intent and it starts to lose it's meaning. Like Waves on "Donuts' is like a personal message to his brother but now anybody named John can now make it about them. And have receipts of 'unreleased' Dilla beats it's gonna make me mad. I understand sampling but that's done by a human hand and mind but a computer trying to replicate a person's entire catalogue is insane to me.
