    It's not so much about the raise. They want protection from automation. A hundred+ years ago horses were replaced by cars. In this scenario, we're the "horse". Horse population went down after that real fast. Meaning, "so will we" Companies shouldn't erode their customer base. It's not good for profits.

    You're so right people are so naive they think things are just going to keep on going but these people also work the whole 4 years of the pandemic didn't get a raise and they were essential workers.
    While most of America got unemployment they were out there working making sure food was on the shelves.
    If they go on strike for even a few days they're losing about a billion a day in the economy people have no idea what's in store if they actually go on strike.
    I'm not saying they deserve the 77% I would say at least what the people in the west coast are making maybe a little more plus money for work hazard during covid.
    Also guaranteed job security that is the number one thing money is one thing you can work with that but I have a feeling the main fight is over automation.
    People with your younger than 35 you've never seen what a strike looks like, I'm talking a real strike not some BS but this guy saying is true and if they go on strike for a week or two weeks you will see mayhem like you would never seen before.
    If this goes on even longer there will be no Christmas for many people that will be no Thanksgiving and it's why you should support their pay increase and protecting their jobs down the line.
    You want to see the stock market crash once it starts to happen the strike you'll see it really crash as these people are the most vital people needed they keep everything moving once they stop moving the rest of the country stops moving also.

      People don't get it. These are people working manual labor, in the elements, next to open water all year long. they deserve a pay increase. If we can send billions to Ukraine and Israel, we can support the workers literally keeping this country running. I wish i was in a union that was willing to fight for its workers like this in these times.

  • @xxdarkpersonaxx9496

    I hope they push more automation. People are struggling and this is gonna make things worse when a bunch of greedy mother effers want more when they make $81k/annually on avg.
    I’m not saying they don’t deserve a raise but 77% is ridiculous.
    Automation is the future so to ban it is not feasible.

      There's a new interview with the Union president that came out a few hours ago, it's not automation in itself but the fact that the Companies are misrepresenting shipments with this automation, plus if a union can't help you keep your job then there's no real point in having one

    • @GenesisAnderson-n7y
      @GenesisAnderson-n7y 24 дня назад

      You know that’s going to cause people to lose jobs right? It’s already happening with self checkout in stores. Plus a lot of stores and restaurants have shut down. That’s why they are striking because if automation happens they will have enough money to at least find another job or retire depending on their age. Everyone doesn’t have options especially if they have been working there for a long time.
