  • A brief video featuring Dapol's recently released N gauge Class 86 electric locomotive, sporting the classic BR blue livery. At present I don't have the overhead catenary installed, so I left the 86'ers pantograph in the down position.
A great model and smooth runner that uses Dapol's 'creep motor.'
Rolling stock are Peco Bogie Bolster kits and a brake van by Graham Farish / Bachmann.
The British Rail Class 86 are a class of electric locomotives built between 1965 to 1966 that first entered service in August, 1965. One hundred of these locos were built to haul trains on the then newly electrified West Coast Main Line from London Euston to Birmingham, Crewe, Liverpool, Mancheser, Preston and eventually Glasgow.
The Class 86 has had a long and successful career, with some locomotives serving on the UK's main lines for up to 55 years. They were used for a variety of purposes, including express passenger and heavy freight services. Most passenger duties ended in the early to mid-2000s, but some locomotives continued to be used for charter work and heavy freight up until 2021.
