    1. are there screws for the vram coldplate or its just the one screw beside the display ports which holds it all , because i cant see any of them on yours and even mine too , dont know if the service centre guy lost it or its like that only ? can yo ucheck on your gpu and reply ......
    2. i have seen some other guys spread the thermal paste with spatula like u did and then again put a decent size dot in middle and then put the heatsink , i guess its because after spreading with its uneven and cant be trusted so they put a dot again , what do you think of this method ?

Thank you! I have this exact card and have been seeing stability issues recently. I figured it's just "dying" and is due for replacement, but then I thought I'd do some research first.
I ran OCCT stress testing and found that the GPU temp under load was sitting at around 79 degrees which is fine but then noticed the "GPU Hot Spot Temp" getting up to 92 degrees. Is that bad? I assume it's bad...
I used the MSI afterburner app to manually set the fans to max speed and it seems more stable now.
All this is just to say, I think it's worth a fresh thermal paste application since I've never done it, and I've had the card since new (around 7-8 years now?)... so thanks for the how-to guide!

I don't have time to do those sorry but being as the thermal paste wasn't changed in 4 year.. I suspect it will be a good improvement

should i remove the plastic form the gpu backplate because its actualy hindering the heat from reaching the backplate directly , why did msi even give that ?
