In south American soccer Ecuador, Bolivia and Peru have an advantage in altitude aswell. It only takes you so far but it def is an advantage. Ecuador was unbeaten at home with teams like Argentina and Brazil.

But americans don't understand how 1600 is vastly different from 2400, which is what is truly considered the beggining of high altitude venues, coz they think in feet. Like, objectively speaking 5000 feet have a marginal if nule effect on any sport and mid yo these guys ain't even playing soccer which would be the one sport where the altitude effects are the worst and their players literally don't even care for any altitude under 2000 meters
I work at Ball arena,& its definitely a real advantage...but we also play it up to the hilt. Signs all over reminding you...we even do a pregame warning alert over the PA-just reminding the visiting team the effects of low oxygen...ya know-hypoxia,sudden death...theres no doubt theres a mental aspect also,& some teams/players make it a bigger deal than it really-they psyche themselves out. And it is at the start of the game-but also I cant tell ya how many teams play us tough for 3 or 3.5 qtrs here-but wilt at the end,& lose by 15. Especially teams on a back to back-u know if the Nugs are close with half the 4th left-our chances are great. So many players tell us the Utah-Denver back 2 back is the worst schedule in the nba. Certainly most of it is cuz our team is awesome-& it does get overblown at times. But ots a real, scientific proven advantage. No coincidence why the US Olympic team trains in Colorado Springs-just over an hr away. Thats litterally the main reason they are based there. More than 1 thing can be true at same time-Nuggets are about to win the NBA title cuz they are the best team,& probably the most unselfish.(Miami is very unselfish also) Thats the main reason the Nugs are like 43-5 I think it is-at Ball, when Jokic plays-even after game 2. But the altitude,& getting the 1 seed definitely was a help. No different than the nhls Avalanche. They had the worst injuries of any deffending champ in 3 decades this yr,& lost in the 1st round. But they won the Cup last yr-mainly cuz they had the best team-& are also a selfless group. But the altitude was a help to them also. It wont help you much-if your team sucks-see the Broncos last 6 or 7 yrs. But when 2 good teams are locked in a tight battle-sometimes it plays a minor role in deciding the outcome-I really believe that. We have amazing fans here-while Miami didnt even sell out some 2nd round playoff games for the Heat,& Panthers-ee had 18,000+ last night for a Finals WATCH PARTY! I kid you not-they were scalping tickets,to watch the game on tv basically...albeit the big screen scorebosrd. But the Broncos had the NFLs best home record for decades, the Nuggets in the 80s never had a winning road record-but made a lot of playoffs cuz they were so good at home. The Avalanche from 2020-22 had by far the nhls best home record. Most of that by far-is the team,a bit of it is the fan support-but a bit of it is the altitude. As I said-it wont help you overcome anything if you are a bad team. But if you have a good team-it helps make us a little better...if you have a great team like this yrs Nugs or last yrs Avs-it helps make them almost unbeatable-as long as they show up with appropriate effort,& dont play terrible. I think game 2 is a good example of the advantage. Miami absolutely deserved to win-but Nugs almost stole it. We didnt play well,& the effort was maybe lacking at time-just a bit-but we still had a 3 in the air to tie at the buzzer. Despite being doen like 12 with 3 min left or whatever. If that game is in Miami-I think they cruise to 8pt win or whatever. But they did get tired down the stretch,& I think it was a factor. But obviously the teams talent,mindset,toughness,etc-is the overwhelming reason Im about to take my kids to a championship parade for the 2nd straight June shortly. How many cities have won the nhl,& nba in back 2 back yrs-I dont think many have. And the altitude is a just a minor advantage that we have,& Utah has-but nobody else has.

Ya bro-but unless you are playing us or Utah in a playoff series...you dont have enough time in the reg season to put much thought into it. I’ve never been to Denver but I have an unrelated question. Y’all think altitude had anything to due to the Russell Wilson drop off ? Cause I usually pick him every year for fantasy but idk now.
Hyperbaric chambers are not good for recovery, they are measurably worse for recovery, the benefit they have is an increase in red blood cells which can help with fitness. Basically they can increase endurance but not recovery. Also to gain benefits from altitude tents you need to spend around 12 hours a day in them at 3000m (about 10000ft)
Can't be that much of an advantage because denver has never won a chip. Never even been to the finals until just now. Meanwhile Boston, LA and the bay area are low altitude and they have the 3 teams with the most titles.

The altitude advantage is hugely overblown.
