- Deaf Employees at Google want to show you what it’s like to have an unique workplace at their headquarter (a.k.a Googleplex), located in Silicon Valley, California, with full communication access through the use of interpreters.
Hello, Calvin! We have sent you Russian subtitles for this video so that our Deaf people could watch it. Hope you can publish them!
this is awesome, i was looking up eating places and all that has deaf staff, and i love this
I am watch for this . Real awesome. That’s interest.
I would like to contact Ken Harristen to let him know about the biggest issues with auto-generated subtitles. I am real frustrated that nobody would do anything about it. I couldn't reach anyone at RUclips to let them know. Leaving the feedback repeatedly didn't seem to help as the issue continues for YEARS...
1. Sometimes they are done in wrong languages, especially Dutch or Korean (VERY, VERY common issue) when the language in the RUclips video is entirely in English, and we don't have any way of letting RUclips know as to redo the subtitles in English.
2. Sometimes the idiots would turn off the auto-generated subtitles when publishing the videos, and we have no way of addresing this issue.
3. Sometimes the videos are published without any auto-generated subtitles, and we don't have any way of clicking in the Option menu to generate the subtitles.
4. Sometimes the subtitles are generated for one person but not other person, namely Kara and Nate travelogue videos ( ruclips.net/channel/UC4ijq8Cg-8zQKx8OH12dUSw ). When Nate speaks, the subtitles appear. When his wife, Kara, speaks, nothing. Really irritating!
The third issue is reason why I always download the RUclips videos then upload to my PRIVATE channel and hope for best that the subtitles would be generated (about 80% of times). I delete them after I am finished watching.
Make sure you double check Ken's last name to get it right. (the spelling)
Ken always flubs fingerspelling his last name. Harrenstein seems the correct spelling. Do a search "ken RUclips captions" on here. one vid appears for him and his job but has "Harrenstien" in title.
Now it definitely seems correct spelling is Harrenstien !
I love the slides 😍
