I’m a hearing industrial designer and the insights provided in this video are so helpful for beginner designers. Clear line of sight between rooms, tools being held while signing, placement of equipment and relative positions of assistants. All of this and more matters. Places like this need to be sustained so that we can learn to build a more universally accessible world.
EMPOWERING! I am an CI user who communicate orally and in ASL and working on becoming a licensed EMT-B professional in the paramedic field. This video gave me the confidence that I needed to believe in myself and that I, too, am capable of doing and making great things happen! Thank you so much for publishing this video .
What a great dentist for the deaf community! I'm hearing and learning ASL. Considering how often my 'hearing' dentists ask me questions when my mouth is frozen and filled with gauze and dental tools, perhaps they should follow the example Dr. Bo's dental office and learn sign language too (so they can get answers from my hands instead of frozen lips).
Love, Love, Love this! Would love it even more if you would do it again and make it for elementary-ages school kids! Slowing way down and labeling/signing names for everything. I am a teacher for the deaf/hard of hearing and most of my ASL using deaf students are from speaking/listening homes and they are not exposed to language of the dentist. Going to the dentist is TERRIFYING for them.
No hygienist though 😢 I am a hygienist and I have a deaf patient coming in today and I wanted to learn some signs to talk to her. Signs were a little jumbled looking for someone who isn’t fluent in ASL but I was able to pick out enough I think. Thanks for this video.
Wonderful! I'm guessing that the dark glasses are to protect from the glare of the light. Do you have enough Deaf/HoH patients? Or you also have signing-impaired Hearing patients?
Hello! I live in India and India all lockdown. I have been having a Brace teeth. I have teeth pain and i could not go to Dental hospital because all lockdown covid - 19. Can you call me!?

Ja I want deaf dentist. Better communication access.😎👍🏼
Great! 👍👍We need more deaf professionals and services like what this dentist can offer to serve hearing impairing population.
Hearing impaired is usually negative word so better to use deaf or HOH
Looks like a not toxic and very healthy work culture!
