Jackfruit grows in my climate zone (central Florida), I grow several unusual for Florida crops like Brazilian grape tree, and moringa. I might have to start growing jackfruit. Here it is mainly popular with vegetarians and vegans. But it’s an interesting fruit and a good substitute for meat in a dish. It is excellent grilled with sweet Thai chili sauce on it. Making me hungry. Cool video.

In Kerala,India we make curry with the same fried desiccated coconut with the same powders. It's called Theeyal here. We cook potatos, small onions, chillies and tomato in oil and add this paste. Some times people use this same paste to cook jackfruit also.

You cut the young Jack fruit in small pieces. The chicken you cook it with union, garlic, djiera, curry and all seasoning spices than the chicken after 15 min the jack fruit and everything is cooked you add the coconut milk. Very very delicious.
