roland says to never sponge wipe the printer heads only the sides.

they advise that but anytime my printheads have been clogged I have used a clean sponge saturated with cleaning fluid and held it on the print head for about 20 sec...to loosen any dry ink on the head. I have Used this technique for 11 years now.
