After Babur's death in 1530, Kamran Mirza seized Lahore and laid a garden in which the baradari was built in 1540.[2] At the time of construction, the baradari was on the western bank of the River Ravi in the Shahdara Bagh region,[4] though it now stands on an island in the middle of the river, due to shifts in the river's course. The pavilion remained in use by Mughal royals until the 18th century.[1]
After the British annexed Punjab in 1849, the pavilion was turned into a tollhouse for boats crossing the river. It is also mentioned as Turgurhwallee Baradari in an 1867 map of Lahore, where it was shown located on the western bank of the river.
Part of baradari's eastern façade had been damaged by floods by the 1850s,while the baradari's second story had also been damaged or dismantled around the same time.The pavilion sustained further damage by flooding in 1958.It was reconstructed in 1989 at a cost of 19.6 million rupees (about $1 million).

Brought me back old memories, i use to go with my parent and grand mother around 25 years ago. It was in much better state than what i have seen in the video. May be Government of Punjab need to open eyes and maintain these amazing heritage sites.

While visualizing your videos I feel as if I am in India because India, Pakistan and Bangladesh was only India (United India; Akhand Bharat) on and before 13/08/1947 so all these countries look Identical. We must try our level best to protect such a National Monuments instead of destroying them. These are our identities and they are to be saved forever. Allah may grant all of us a Hidayat to do so. I enjoyed it very much. Brought memories of the sixtees when during winters, we would go in a boat to Kamran's baradari. Thankyou for renewing my memories. My next visit for sure would be Kamran's Baradari following your footsteps.

I visited this place when I was student in 1971.At that time no ticket was imposed on this place.In my childhood I used to see this place in the middle of River Ravi & Ravi was in full swing.At that time I used to travel with my grand father from Gujranwala to Lahore.If I am not mistaken Kamran Mirza was younger brother of Humayoun.He was younger son of Baber.He was step brother of Hamyoon & he met with sher shah suri against his brother.52 years before the Building was Ramshackled but now it is bit maintained.Your presentation was also very good.

Very beautiful and captivating venue, this is the miracle when you visit such sites you travel back to all those centuries when these buildings were built. People would be less in numbers and atmosphere would be in placid settings and royalties would enhance the mood of the spectacle even romantic in their absolute presence. Musicians would have been singing raag Darbari alongside the female traditional dancers in bara dari. That kind of show off and opulence is always for the time being. I will suggest that Usmani Sahib showed us a great 👍 video once again regarding Mughal history. Thanks a lot 🙏 ❤ 💙 💜
