***** oh c'mon of course they're not better although I didn't see hell or high water but I saw arrival and moonlight. Moonlight was an extraordinary movie from all the aspects especially the performances.

+Jenna Denjern That's the whole point. Films are subjective. Some people prefer Star Trek over Star Wars. Some people prefer Marvel over DC. Some people like independent films over blockbusters. This happens every year. As badly as I want HoHW to win I'm not going to get worked up just because it doesn't. The Oscars are ultimately an entertainment show so don't get pissed over crap that doesn't essentially matter to our daily human needs.

It's pretty generic to me.
A couple of flaws I found: the singing was not really up to par for a movie musical (as well as Emma and Ryan's dancing to be honest), the story was very predictable, it's one that's been done time and time again and there really was no diversity in this cast apart from John Legend. Moonlight was far better, especially in terms of cast performances and the way the movie looked, as well as having a story that Hollywood has never seen. (apart from small indie films possibly)

Moonlight is one of those films I may not be watching over the years to come but when it comes to the quality, the directing, the storytelling and the acting, the movie knocked it out of the park.

Bissy yeah hidden figures was boring but the message of women rights is what got it the nod. Deadpool should have got nominated for, best picture, best adapted screenplay, and best makeup. I would say actor but I didn't see how Viggo Mortensen did so I can't say.

I put all my chances in "La La Land".
I know La La Land will most likely win, and I would be happy if it does since I loved the movie, but I really wish Arrival would win. The story telling and everything about it was so emotional. I went in expecting a movie about aliens and action, but I left crying, because it impacted me on an emotional level.

Nico Coquet I'm not sure that The Handmaiden can get nominated being that it's a foreign film that isn't in English? (which is stupid in my opinion) There is a foreign film category I believe, hopefully it gets nominated there.

It really sucks because La La Land is going to win simply due to the fact that way more people have seen it. Though I think it's a fantastic film, Moonlight deserves the win so badly. Such a beautiful movie, yet it's hardly playing anywhere.
