Some notes about the words I didn't directly translate, and some other cultural things you might be confused by! [1] Oseibo is a year-end gift you give to people who’ve shown you kindness throughout the year. It is typically something edible or household items. [2] Madeleines are sponge cakes usually made with a distinctive shell-like shape from being baked in a shell shaped mold. Madeleines are quite popular in Japan, usually having a Green Tea flavor. [3] Omiyage is another word for a gift or souvenir. Omiyage boxes have bright colors, and contain wrapped snacks inside them. [4] Nori are seaweed sheets that are used to wrap Sushi. [5] Compote is a dessert made of fruit in sugar syrup. It can be served warm or cold. [6] Yōkan is a jello-like snack that is made with either red bean paste or white kidney bean paste. [7] Castella is a traditional Japanese cake pastry. It’s often in a rectangular shape and is very popular for its softness. [8] Toshikoshi soba literally translates to ‘New Year’s Soba’. It is a soba made to celebrate the New Year since soba is considered a lucky symbol.
Im so disapointed that no one talk abt this side of the Shinonome siblings, them sharing food is the cutest thing ever. "Whats the green one?" "Matcha, here u go" The smile on Akito's face is so peaceful omg?
Hi there! Thank you for translating this card! I love Shinonome siblings relationship, they feel so real ❤️. Oh and I noticed in 2:39 when Akito said, "抹茶。それもいける。" I think instead of "there you go", it's more likely that he's saying that the matcha flavor is good too. Oh and also in 4:34 when Ena said "切れてるやつ?" I think it's more like she was asking if the cake was pre-cut or not.

I was literally just thinking about that too ... I love them 😭
it’s not an aggressive smile finally
My favorite thing is that they’re actually realistic - they always bicker and fight but they genuinely care about eachother.
I love when Shinonome siblings talk without making fun of each other
