I’m not even 2 minutes the video and I’m freaking dead 💀 I can’t even express how much I love all you in this awesome community. Thanks for always making my weeks better.
Yutaka already got me laughing in the first 20 seconds. 😂 Happy belated birthday, ol' Deborah! (Said from someone of the same age.) Oh my gawd, George! 🫣😂 Y'all really got me laughing, and I really needed it. Trixie Mattel 😂
I don't know who I want to fight more for that Birthday intro. George for doing it or Alex for causing it? *sigh* lmao He had so many good movies, I loved: NoES series, Scream series, Swamp Thing, The Last House on the Left, The Serpent and the Rainbow, Shocker, People Under the Stairs, Vampire in Brooklyn, Cursed, Red Eye, and My Soul to Take. Then a few that were just okay, imo: The Hills Have Eyes, Deadly Friend, and Chiller.
I love seeing the love for Wes craven! My grandmother passed away in 2019 and she and I used to watch the scream series, and new nightmare. We even saw the last house on the left remake. Whenever I watch new nightmare, it makes me all Emotional. Thank you guys for treasuring this underappreciated artist. And thank you Wes craven for the nightmares. Gone but you’ll always been remembered!
I am surprised that Invitation to Hell was not mentioned! I found this on Peacock. Wes Craven did a made for TV movie starring Susan Lucci. The first five minutes I was laughing and confused at the same time. I can’t even describe it as camp. It’s just…beyond 😂
Happy Birthday Yutaka! I'm very happy that he chose The People Under the Stairs, it's campy due to the slum lords insane behavior. I also love how it addressed gentrification, racism and Reaganism. And Fool is one of my favorite final boys. Another thing that I loved about Craven was how often his movies had strong and smart women, from Nancy, Sidney, Rachel McAdams and some of her female co-stars in Red Eye, especially the little girl who was flying alone, she knew Cillian was up to no good and stepped up.
I remember as a little kid I always see the movie poster to The People Under the Stairs and I always assumed it's a super scary movie. I think in 1997 or 98 I finally watched it on TV, and it wasn't too scary but in a way it still counts as horror. It deals with the real life horror of how much white people can get away with certain things, and it has some elements of gothic horror too. I do today think it's still a good movie.
@@missourigreen051 The house's look and "Mommy's" pale makeup give me gothic vibes. It's more disturbing to me than scary because of how deranged, sick, and abusive the slum lords are and what they do to their victims. I know that Jordan Peele signed on to produce a remake but that was in 2020, there's been no updates since that announcement.
Off topic, but since y’all mentioned the “Devils Rejects”…we’ll I was still living at home when I came out to my parents. My mom first then my dad. Well it was awkward telling him, but like an hour later he knocked on my door and asked me if I wanted to watch Devils Rejects with him. I did and the awkwardness was gone. And like Yutaka, my parents lets us watch anything when we were growing up.
George is killin me cause why is u singing like dat .. y’all kill me ! Highlight of my day is seeing one of these videos pop up lmao yutaka happy late birthday babes my fav of course 😩
I was the youngest and my siblings are like 13-14 years older than me. So by the time I rolled around, my mom didn't care about anything that I watched as kid. lol I feel I'm more well-rounded because of it. lol
Craven is known as the MASTER OF HORROR and the GURU OF GORE. Not suspense. That was/is strictly Hitchcock’s moniker. But you’re so cute and adorable Nicky that I won’t hold it against you. 😂 I LOVE VAMPIRE IN BROOKLYN!!! I actually saw it in theater originally. It was such a good time! Have loved it ever since. Eddie Murphy, Angela Bassett, that guy who plays Julius (he’s hilarious) are so fabulous. My favorite part is when Eddie (as the vampire Maximilian) pretends to be a preacher and is preaching to the congregation, which includes Angela, telling them to sin and do all this ungodly stuff and is manipulating them and turns all the churchgoers into sinning heathens. That mess is hilarious and Wes Craven really did an incredible job with this film. I’m glad it has a cult following now because it was negatively reviewed when it first came out. Now it’s finally getting the love it deserves.
You know what I was thinking...wouldn't it be cute if like once a month you could have a fan join in for a quick minute kinda like a virtual meet n greet, just to say hello....idk I'm high rn so lol
I think it's a great movie, and really underrated. I also saw it in a theater too when it first came out. I remember back then I was super attracted to the actor playing the main character, like a really attractive twink if that makes any sense.
george could have been ana de armas' understudy with that performance (we LOVE latina representation) 👏 happy birthday yutaka, you gutted queen! you are so appreciated!
I like they brought up Cursed, it's underrated. But I also will admit I would like to see that other version of Cursed that was still never released. I also saw Cursed in the theater when it first came out back in February of 2005. The part when Milo admits he is gay, there was a woman sitting in front of me who left while also forcing her small kid to leave with her. I got kind of annoyed but at the same time reminded that homophobia is still a thing in 2005.
I saw the movie when it first came out in theaters and I remember liking it. Before I saw it I was aware of a bunch of bad reviews of it but I didn't care because I care about Wes Craven that much. I saw the movie and realized the reviews were all wrong. I don't know if anybody remembers October 2010 but during that time a bunch of bad reviews of My Soul to Take came out, and I can tell some people are only saying they hate it just to join the bandwagon.

Anyone else think Nick looks like a young Raven? Also, if you like The Last House on the Left, it's based off a foreign film by Bergman called The Virgin Spring starring Scream King Max Von Sydow. Keep it spooky, movie fam!!
Not really a fan of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, but the ones I do enjoy are New Nightmare and Dream Warriors. And Freddy vs. Jason, of course.
I've always remembered someone saying Wes Craven directed a really underrated horror movie from the early 80's and for some reason I thought it was The Burning, and was about to watch it but then I chose to take a quick look on IMDB and realized that is not the movie. It took me a while to find out that movie is Deadly Blessing. And I will watch it someday. I just have a lot of movies I want to watch yet that I still never saw, it's like a mixture of new movies and old movies. A week ago I finally watched the 1980 Prom Night for the very first time.
