I'm a leader for a thesis and let me tell you first that it will only be a "baby thesis" (thesis but we only cover up Chapters 1 until 3), but this is my first time writing a thesis. Thank you for making it easier, our teacher only discussed the parts of Chapter 1 but not what goes inside each of them.

Hey! I suggest you double check the formatting requirements of your university, as it can vary from one institution to another. Usually the full reference list only comes at the end of the thesis. But perhaps in your Uni it is different. So make sure to double check and follow their requirements, ok? Best of luck!

MMM I have not read one psychological paper yet using the first person. I would strongly advise against this. Your direct personal reasons for a certain study are irrelevant and also implied through your aims section.Do not take this advice. You can say The author believes etc but never I believe especially in masters or PhD papers. And remember the paper is not about YOU it's about the variables or phenomenon you are investigating.
Hi Persianfoot, thanks for the comment but I believe there has been a misunderstanding. This series and the suggestions I provide in it are for "Thesis" writing. Not for a writing a paper/article. When writing an article or scientific paper, then I fully agree with you, there is no section for personal motivations. Nor should one write in first person. However, when writing your thesis, which is a much larger document in comparison, having an initial section detailing your personal motivations are relevant for the reviewers to understand the background of where your idea comes from. And only in this section I suggest one to write in first person, as one is talking about him/herself. Not the topic of investigation, ok? Have a great day and all the best with your project!
