What a killer game! Just picked it up today. This is on another level right now. This isn t just paying homage to 16 bit 🏃 and 🔫, it s pushing the genre forward.
Great game. Not pushing the genre forward. Nothing has surpassed Hard Corps: Uprisings gameplay. It's the ultimate run n gun gameplay in the genre. We need a sequel.
Immediately saw this today & said That looks like a Mix between Contra & Metal Slug with a sprinkle of Mega man x3 & Metroi.. Low and behold i check your description 👏🏾🔥
What a genuinely amazing game this is. I hope they do a sequel where they actually use full 16-bit SNES/PC Engine/Neo Geo levels of colour for the various sprites and backgrounds rather than looking like it's using something slightly below the rather limited Genesis' colour palette limitations at times.
This is insane but the reason I had to watch this is because I was hoping that there would be a secret boss at the end of hardcore mode you know like there is in contra 3 but alas no - such a shame - perfect opportunity to have snuck a second space harrier section in the game or a level hanging onto the rails of the aircraft just like in contra 3 - Ah well no luck there, still an absolutely awesome game!
Man i love this game there are so many people that doesn’t like it because has a lot of references from Contra but these days we don’t have this quality from the games of 80,90 . It’s like a diamond we should enjoy it .
Excellent video ! You are a real master of this game ! And I play it on Xbox One / PC and it's an amazing run'n'gun ! I love Contra (especially the genesis version but Contra on Nes and Contra 3 on Snes are in my top favorite too with the third Metal Slug !) and this game look in the same way but with it's own feeling, it's own personnality, it's realisation are so well worked ... they made a great work with this game. For me it's an instant classic of neo retro games and run'n'gun style ! Hope you the best.
One thing that impressed me was a detail some might have missed. When fighting the giant spider in the elevator in the bio-lab, it was shown to have blue blood, which is accurate.
Congrats to your truly amazing run! Just unbelievable! I have now almost 45 hours in this game, and I still haven't been able to finish the game on Hard Core mode, using 3 credits!
This game embraced old school spritework, don't see many 2D games that use old school looking sprites. The color palette though does remind me of old Genesis games with the lighter shade of colors, and lack of many onscreen at a time.
Well Played! I LOVE Contra Hard Corps but to be honest Blazing Chrome disappoints in allot places. While the graphic style reminds of hits like Contra, Metal Slug, Gun Force and others directly compared with Contra Hard Corps it does not live up to that. While it copies allot stuff from the Contra series, especially Contra 3 on Snes and Hard Corps on Mega Drive/Genesis it never reaches it's quality of awesomeness ... because Hard Corps does not only take old concepts and reuses them, but comes up with brand new designs one crazier then the last. That said as a homage or tribute to all the old games Blazing Chrome does NOT disappoint. I just wished it came with more selectable Characters and either follow the Hard Corps formula where the game pushes you into the first stage and then at the end it gives you a choice which next stage you want to play, with allot endings and secret stages. Or, if they wanted to follow the Mega Man/Thunder Force style play where you have 4 stages that you can play in any order for a 5th to appear ... why not make it so each stage changes some depending did it get chosen as 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th stage? Possibly also changing the 5th based on the route taken? And I not mean totally different but what would be cool is a change in Boss of the Stage and other aspects of it; like maybe the way you use to run through it is altered so while it still is "Ruins of the East Capital" at its heart you use altered route and face other enemies ... that way the first stage could be easier and the later stages could progress with getting harder and harder. But ... nice video!
Silly question. Does ANYONE else hear the Mega Man X4 explosion sound when things are exploding? Like, it's really freaking close in nature and I love it.
Anyone else get some intense Mega Man X/Zero vibes from that final boss gauntlet? We have boss room shutters, a robot that fights like Armored Armadillo, a robot that fights like a cross between Spark Mandrill and Flame Mammoth, then a robot that fights like Copy X, who then fights more akin to Sigma, who finally attaches his head to a giant robot body akin to the various Final Sigma forms. He even utilizes cyberspace and makes you fight fake versions of your friends.
I don't see any Metal Slug inspiration in this game. Just Contra, and Shatterhand. My only complaint about this game, is that the bosses are a bit lacking.
If I look at the pixels.. this game is (of course) heavily inspired of Contra, but the utmost is Nazca's(Ex-Irem company) Metal Slug and Irem's GunForce 2(GeoStorm).
I don't think they have weaknesses. The laser should be the strongest weapon as long as you can hit every shot as fast as possible, but sometimes it's easier to keep a high DPS with the grenade launcher.
What the hell man, I've never seen let alone played this game before. I love *contra* games and shit this game rocks! Where can I get it and what system is this for!?!? Dx
I love this game but holy hell it an hardass game I had to beat it in easy I usually try to beat them in normal but holy hell such an hard game well that is the point tho so I'm fine with it and Im gonna try beating this in normal mode
And it SHOULDN'T be part of the series' canonical timeline since it has nothing to do with the series' usual aspects and it DESERVES to be FORGOTTEN because it shouldn't even exist in the first place!!

Can we please get a side scrolling shooter where characters matter grinding lives is there to do and main weapons which always perform better then your fist one that you can keep upon death and if you want another wait for one to drop.
Getting this over that horror that is the latest Contra game from Konami for sure now.
This game will definitely get that bad taste out of your mouth..
Tough as nails as well so the win factor is only multiplied after each successful run.
I beat this on normal mode without continuing and thought I was tough. You beat it on hard mode without DYING. I bow to your skill
It's too hard on hard mode,I just tried it,I can tell you for sure!
What a killer game! Just picked it up today. This is on another level right now. This isn t just paying homage to 16 bit 🏃 and 🔫, it s pushing the genre forward.
The Electric, he reminded me of the Contra game.
Great game. Not pushing the genre forward. Nothing has surpassed Hard Corps: Uprisings gameplay. It's the ultimate run n gun gameplay in the genre. We need a sequel.
Still not as good as Contra Hard Corps or Metal Slug 3
I love how the Speed Bot is just your personal hype man. Following you around like "hell yeah champ, you got this!"

as far as im concerned, this is the real contra game we have been waiting for
Last night I beat this game on hardcore, no continues used. I honestly can't believe myself. This video surely helped me a lot.
Now this is -podracing- CONTRA!
The soundtrack for this game is just insanely superawesome, just like your skills!!! keep it up dude😃
Truth! The OST is just epic.

I Get Hardcore Contra: Hard Corps Vibes..From This
and a bit of Contra 3 too!
It does have that"Genesis" color pallet.
Haha, hey bro. This is pretty awesome! Was wondering how quickly someone will beat that mode without any deaths
Alter du hier ??? Hahaha
Oh nein Alfa4Games ist hier. XD
Klein ist die Welt.
What god tier level gameplay, you sir are truly skilled
35:20 ...this boss gives everything...even if you destroy his jetpack and body...totally respect...and his OST (1st form) was too epic
This game has such a good quality 90’s feel. Feels like a genesis/snes port, but my god is it hard! That’s why it’s so much fun!
That was awesome. You even got the mechs to end of each level too.
how you exit a mech on purpose?

Contra by any other name is still Contra. Awesome !!
dude's skill is from another planet
This game is a masterpiece.
Damn you are good at this. I can only passed this game on normal lol my fingers hurt like hell defeating the ending boss.
One thing that impressed me was a detail some might have missed. When fighting the giant spider in the elevator in the bio-lab, it was shown to have blue blood, which is accurate.
Man so many classics got inspired here, metal slugs, megaman, metroid...
Megaman X specially, posses, dash, charge attacks, and even final boss, but the base is contra with 80 vice music
What about Contra? Hello?
@@artorias-24 Contra is the main core of the game, these are extra points.
12:43 This scene can remind me of two games at once: Contra Hard Corps and Megaman X4
And a bit of Metal Slug
Congrats to your truly amazing run! Just unbelievable! I have now almost 45 hours in this game, and I still haven't been able to finish the game on Hard Core mode, using 3 credits!
I noticed a screen inside the outpost in the 5th level reading "Oniken Protocol," which is a reference to this developer's previous game, _Oniken._
Only beef I have with this game is the anticlimactic final boss. Everything else is awesome.
Very nice game design. I like the way the character moves.
This game embraced old school spritework, don't see many 2D games that use old school looking sprites. The color palette though does remind me of old Genesis games with the lighter shade of colors, and lack of many onscreen at a time.
Sad times we're living in when the Indie developers get it right than the people they were inspired by
Mastered hardcore already!? Wow...
Do something different. Show me the game you suck at. You deserve recognition for being so amazing. You're my bullet-hell/action hero.
15:33 You can pick up 1 life with your whip.
Thanks! I assumed you just needed the speed bot to double jump up there this whole time.
Fuck man this soundtrack is on another level
A must play for old school Contra fans.

Good work
Blazing Chrome=Contra Hard Corps
Bloodstained Curse of the Moon=Castlevania 3 Dracula's Curse
Mighty No 9=Megaman
Thats right!
Minus Mighty nr9 since Megaman 11 was released

I played this on PC hell this was accurately metal slug/contra combination absolutely must play
Games like this explains our reality on many ways.
Well done!
Damn good run bro
This game looks absolutely amazing! It's Shatterhand (nes) fused with Contra (nes). . .🤩🤗💯
I personally like the bio weapon level. It reminds me of the final levels in Metal Slug 6 and Contra games
Very impressive, excellent strategic use of defense bots. You've made me curious watching this, though, do bosses have certain weapon weaknesses?
I don't think they have weaknesses. The laser should be the strongest weapon as long as you can hit every shot as fast as possible, but sometimes it's easier to keep a high DPS with the grenade launcher.
Konami......take notes.
Hard as hell but oh so damn good
Great Job! For me it was too punishing to have the patience to finish it. It might be great for hardcore gamers but definitely not for casual players.
What the hell man, I've never seen let alone played this game before. I love *contra* games and shit this game rocks! Where can I get it and what system is this for!?!? Dx
It's on PC, PS4, X1 and Switch.
Good job I wish this game had as optional save feature farming to get more lives.
the music sounds hella retro 80's
Amazing run. Love this game despite me being complete noob at it with too many death LOL
This game is off the hook, and it reminds me of My Neo Geo games.
you played metal slug , final fight , cadillacs and dinossaurs with no death , you will play contra games without death too ?
Contra games are too short and very easy. Well most of them. Contra and Super Contra only take around 9 minutes.
Contra...Turrican...Blazing Star...Metriod... All in one
It's still a good game however. But I still want Hard Corps Uprising on Steam.
The 16bit era was the best for anime inspired video games!
Konami really fucked up.
Indi devs doing a better jobs these days
I love this game but holy hell it an hardass game I had to beat it in easy I usually try to beat them in normal but holy hell such an hard game well that is the point tho so I'm fine with it and Im gonna try beating this in normal mode
Nice job.
mixed between contra & metal slug = this game
3:37 = Space Harrier!! (ok no...) X'D
This game is more Contra than that OFFICIAL abomination from Konami.
And it SHOULDN'T be part of the series' canonical timeline since it has nothing to do with the series' usual aspects and it DESERVES to be FORGOTTEN because it shouldn't even exist in the first place!!
This is a fucking videogame
What are that red things in background at 23:30 ? Veins and arteries?
Pros : no death like a pro
Cons : no play from mission 1
Damn this game looks fuckin kickass
Maluco viciado no jogo. Ninja skillz
How do you jump and gain height a second time in the air? This maneuver is also seen with the mech.
Iconoclast! Can you do a No Death run, but with all the stages in order?
Incredible
Any reason why you don't lock your aim in the jetpack level?
1:38 - you can just lay on the ground without moving and shoot him to death. Not sure if they will patch it soon, but it seems to be some ai exploit
hope they don`t patch it cuz i love insider infos like that. u don't have to use it but nice to know that there are some tricks/hints that the fans will find out this or the other way
