For a lot of people, an old bike or car is a passport to the past. Unfortunately the past is a different country, and we can never return. There are a few motorcycles I'd like to return to, but like an old sweetheart I know the intervening years will have changed us both too much, and it'll spoil the memories and the present.
At least the Vespa is Italian, so you won’t miss out on the Duke in that way. Your wife’s comment, reminded one that my dad made to my mother only a few years ago. On her 80th birthday, she went to the local hardware store, bought some bags of cement, and proceeded to make some concrete paths around the backyard. My dad asked if she’d looked at her birth certificate lately.😂
The word for remembering the past and thinking it was a better time is called presentism. Seeing the past through our current mindset. I enjoy looking at 70s model cars, but the reality is they were hard to start, heavy and cumbersome, and prone to rust. Today are tomorrow's best of times. Cheers, mate.
Thank you Warro for your thoughts on all those bikes very informative. It is nice to see the sun shining even though you are having a bit of of blow. He in UK it is 5 degrees and foggy, roll on the spring when the Classic 350 will be out again. Happy New Year to you all down under.
thanks. i;m thinking i may do more clips like this and on other subjects rather than all bikes. cover different things. grew up in same town as i was born in so have a few interesting stories so that may be in the direction i go. all the best!
Honestly, in over 40 years of holding car/bike license, the only times I've been booked for speeding was on a motorcycle. Also, remember the saying, it's more fun riding a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. By the way, I saw a video on an electric scooter the day, it has this super boost where it got to 30 mph, about 50 kph, in under 3 seconds. The down side to electric is the limited range, but whatever you choose, Warro, I'll watch it past the 3 minute mark all the way to the end. Cheers, mate.
believe it or not i was going to buy a zero before i was side tracked on the super cub. plus its good to know you are not one of the 3 minute marvels...lol pretty happy with the audio too. not voice over actual ride footage up to 100 kph all the best!
@@ridewithwarro I think you've found the sweet spot for audio. I like how there's a slight hint of engine noise underneath, but with a crisp voice over the top. Well done.
Would not dismiss the Guerrilla 450 got 7000 kms on my one and i don't feel the vibrant is that bad think you should take a for a test ride 😉 Cheers ✔️ 🍻
The Super Cub looks more style over function. Surprised you kept it so long. The GB 350 is now available in the UK in metalic black. I'd get your tank professionally sprayed, wouldn't cost much. Great bike. Nice ride, cheers.
yeah i don't care that much about painting the bike as ive sprayed lots of cars. prices are pretty expensive here in oz. bare metal respray on a car $25,000 so the son told me....lol he has an early model holden torana only an idea at the moment as i have a fair bit on my mind all the best!
yeah if i get too bored next month i might get a bit rattle can happy...lol the xmax i painted in blue came out really nice but i forgot what colour i used...lol
Hi Warro Glad you are more on the negative than plus for the Ducati. If you know a good bike mechanic that works on a large variety of brands. You will have your answer. When we were young and I still know a few people today like it, always sided towards a super attractive woman rather than the person within. Bikes for me are about fun, reliability, handling. Age has the advantage of thinking with the head rather than the heart. Off for a ride like you on the GB today, stay safe and enjoy life to the max. Cheers Brian
thanks, great to hear you enjoyed it. no shortage of sunlight here with average temp in low 20's to say 30c was a bit windy on this ride in fact pretty strong. audio came out fine so that was a plus. first run out the video was useless so i had to ride it twice...lol tried nd filters on the gopro and they cut the corners liking looking through an old tv clip on someone looking through binoculars.lol all the best!
That was a nice ride around in sunshine with good countryside scenery rolling by as you rode. There's supposedly going to be a GB 500 next year so you might want to wait and see what that bike is like.
yeah i think i will do more of those-different roads...lol could be interesting and add a touristy spot to take a look at too. 2025 might be a year of change for the channel and i can get it into top gear...lol all the best!
Got to be said, that Mrs is a keeper. Making you think! The C125 scratched that itch to revisit your past. Enough to remember how you started out and why you moved up.
i think you actually hit the nail on the head with that reply. i had the chance to re-visit and do a quick 350 klm on a blast from the past. i actually enjoyed the experience and time moves on. all the best!
Thanks Warro.Good clip,Iam in my 70s and traded my delightful RS900 cafe for a scooter.Bad move for a city man as the tin cans think anyone on a scoot is a food delivery boy and have no respect.Time to look at possible 350 or 450 fast enough to keep up with the traffic on the freeway to enjoy our beautiful country. The CFMoto is definitely on my radar. Regards Ollie
i actually like the scooter experience and find the xmax 300 has enough power to get it moving along ok. plus you have quite a few choices out there in that size bikes. in fact we both have. more to come all the best!
Great clip Warro, enjoyed you're thoughts and content, have a happy new year when it comes Warro, all the best for 2025. On the comment the good lady said about checking yourself when looking at the diave!!, they can cut you to the quick, my misses is like that as well. On reflection they are usually spot on mate. Keep on making them clips mate, I enjoy the craik and the scenery 👍
all the best your way too. clip wise i think i have the audio under control judging by this. now to set the video up better and i think i will go into next year on rides and talk. something different and add a bit of story telling to keep it interesting. cheers
Glad you enjoyed it. im working on doing more ride and talks in 2025. audio now under control. next the video and such and ready to go. i think i can put it together so nothing to lose..lol all the best!
Did you loose on it ? If it dose not gave the enjoyment you were searching than sell it. As long as you are happy, that is what counts. Another Honda, maybe a 500 ?
nothing really about $150 bucks. i recall 5 or 6 years back when i bought the new triumph scrambler 900 and rode it just 300 klm i lost roughly $5000...lol hard to say what will happen on the bikes. at the moment im working on the audio ride side which i think ive got under control. next the video and id like to do more ride and talks for 2025. thats my plan as i do get sick of buying motorcycles. you know 6 new bikes per year over past 12 years i think is a bit too much...lol and a total waste of good cash. so i might try a new approach for 2025 and see if i can improve the channel presentation side
Hi Warro, Have you ever considered trying out a Can Am Ryker or Spyder? I know that neither is a motorcycle, and can't really replace a motorcycle, but they look like they would be fun to ride. (I've never had the opportunity to ride one.) A Ryker Rally might be just the ticket when you get bored with the 5 motorcycles you already have. Thank you for the video!
a few years back like about 5 one was for sale about 100 miles away. i actually rang the guy to take a look and he said sorry...deposit taken. that was my only real experience on a can-am hit
im 72 and have a few bikes, love the small bore bikes. also yamaha YX 600, V-Max 1200 and Goldwing .i know your on top and can have whatever anytime.get that Ducati and review the hell out of it..enjoy your videos
don't be concerned...your control was extremely good and it was great to see you complete the clip. many have good intentions and try but i believe their failure rate is over 90% so when you see the click count per clip you'll know 9 out of 10 lost their power to perform all the best!
Hi Warro, there is a bloke in the UK who rides a MV Brutale 750 his channel is called, Old bloke on a Ducati. you may find him interesting. Anyway thanks for the videos and a happy new year, Cheers Baz
I only ones sold a bike quick because of me could be better rider than the bike was capable of. That was a Yamaha XJ650 after 18 months and 15.000km, nothing wrong with it only the brakes were not good enough and the handling was not firm enough for me. I was at that moment still evolving in to a better rider and was sure that I could be do more with a bike, so I sold it to a friend who was a beginning rider and he kept the bike for five years. So Warro buy what you are happy with and are sure that it will suits you. I think the Suzuki is not a bad bike, good for the roads of Australia.
yeah im not much of a rider so in reality a ducati would be of no use to me just to look at. in fact it would probably remind me of when i had the lotus elise factory supercharged job it was far too rough to ride in and hard to get in and out of too. saying that the 2 daughters drove it more than me...lol so they actually enjoyed the purchase
Warro as a old bloke who rides a Ducati, admittedly a little monster, everthing you said is true...BUT!!!...the adrenaline, the vibration, the mad mental twitchy controls, the performance, light weight, the squashed nads, the total lack of maturity, the riders that is, the noise all this makes you feel alive. Definitely ride it first tho and a good long test ride most important.
wife has been reading the comments...lol not good news there. she actually asked me what do i think my bikes are worth sale side. i asked why? she replied just in case i have to sell them shortly. it appears there is a no confidence vote here in the land of orange...lol to;ld the eldest daughter who is getting on and pushing 40. i might buy a ducatu she replied ...wake up! now the younger one who is highly strung is in japan on a xmas holiday. plan to stay well clear of her she gets excited quick...lol
A super video Warro,i`m just the same, the last 2 years i saw and bought and sold a 900 kawa chopper then a 750 Honda Magna, then a 650 Yamaha V Star now i have a nother Yamaha 650 V Star and a Piaggio Beverly500 classic. The only bike i regret selling was the Kawa i could buy one again but i´m 78 and i don´t have the power to handel the 270kg bike so i bought another 650 yamaha V Star...i love choppers because they have lower sattels. On a Ducati Devil i´d die like a fly but if your nosey go and just try one who knows mabe you are 30 at heart and your loved one will look at you as a hero😄, just don´t change gear because 1st gear goes more than the speed limit in Australia😄😄Cheers and all the best for you and your family🌲🌲🌲
thanks for the info. gee i went close to buying a beverly 400. i was going to rotate between it and the xmax 300 they had them on special for $11k which was $2000 off new price of $13k but only colour was matte black then the supercub came along and that ended that. didn't know they made a 500 so it must run pretty sweet. i actually like scooters. never liked them once but i do now. twist and go very hard to beat all the best!
I was 13 when I got a YZ125X (the model between the C and the D). The I got an RM125C. I do miss riding those bikes, especially the thrill and excitement of the two stroke power band.
back in 73 i had a two stroke kawasaki 350 tripple. that was a highly strung bike for a 350...lol nice red colour with multi stripes but the guy up the road had a yamaha rd350 yamaha. i still think that motor in the rd was such a great looking donk...lol
yeah but it could also make them feel jealous...lol i know that side from my porsche/lotus bmw and more car days. as a rule they'd much prefer to see some-one doing it tough rather than an easy buy ...lol anyway i will be buying a bike but i dont know which bike...lol all the best!
Have you considered the Honda CL500, Warro? I think it's a great looking bike. 46HP and a scrambler, so it should handle dirty roads pretty well and have some punch. We picked up my husband's new cfmoto 450MT last week. He loves it. 😊
not actually looked at one of those cl500. in fact never saw one up close. by the way i think your husband got a pretty good bike in the 450 mt for a very fair price.
Well, I watched it to the end Warro!!🤣 Few points, how does the GB350 compare to the Classic 350 in terms of acceleration and top speed, about the same?🤔 Again on the GB350, have you thought about having the paintwork wrapped instead of painted, probably a lot cheaper and can be removed if you sell it. With the right person wrapping it you wouldn't tell the difference.🤔 The Guerilla 450 - cracking bike for the money and far better than the Triumph 400 I've ridden. Mine has 2700 miles on the clock and I don't notice any vibration at any speed, I've also had 3 Classic 350s and the vibration level is no difference. The only thing I'd say about the Guerilla is that it likes revs (goes like shit off a shovel) and will vibrate if in too higher gear at too lower speed - it's about adjusting your riding style and being in the right gear, suggest you take an extended road test to get a proper feel of it, nice and light too.👍 The Ducati, hmm, you're right about reaction times, I'm 67 and know mine aren't what they used to be. There is also the weight to consider, again, as we get older our leg muscles ain't what they used to be. We've all made mistakes in buying bikes. I was seduced by the looks of the Monkey Bike when it hit the UK shores and immediately bought one, worst bike I've ever owned, kept it 6 weeks and traded it back in and lost a grand in the process.☹️ Anyway, enough of my waffle, look forward to seeing what you decide on.🤔🙂👍
if you had tried HARDER you could have scored in the under 3 minute cat...lol but saying that its good to know you can go the distance. both bikes are pretty close. i think gb350 wins on pickup to 100 kph and then the classic would get it. if i decide to paint i think i could paint it pretty cheap and much cheaper here than someone would wrap it. next time out on the guerilla let me know what its like in the bars and pegs at 60 mph or 5 mph either side. ducati side. i actually had a mazda mx5 turbo putting out 350 rwhp -top speed 275 kph and never spun the wheels once during 8 years of ownership so $40k on a powerful bike might be just a waste of cash...lol since this idea sprung to mind others have said the worries you had with the vespa is nothing compared to if you buy that...lol anyway wife said no. i take no notice of her negatives but i may this time...lol all the best!
Interesting what you said about painting your GB350, I am looking at buying one and I plan on painting it red once I know I am happy to keep it long term.
well if you look at the indian hiness version which in reality is this bike. parts sent to japan and assembled there NOT made in japan ...just assembled...lol anyway their colours are pretty good. on the other hand our colours are pretty bad. now i wonder who was the thunder brain who said ...give 'em them cool colours...lol so it looks like i might have to paint it myself. if you look back several clip i painted a brand new xmax blue. lots of work. this one not much...lol
Sorry to hear you didn't bond with the supercub, but it's horses for courses. I think I said I had mine for sale but decided I couldn't part with it. I just do local roads, and the Mount Glorious road, which is 70 or 80 at most. I ride occasionally with the Westfield sports car club, with Lotus and Sevens etc., and I get to the cafe at the same time as they do. I sometimes ride back down the mountain with my mate on a Rocket 3, and we are both at the lights at the bottom of the hill grinning at each other. I've got about 12,000 km on it now and looking forward to more rides in 2025. Stay upright 👍 🇦🇺
yeah i had the chance to re-visit the past and enjoyed the experience. got caught out on the open road near a hilly section. had a few cars behind me. one very impatient too. that incident was enough to tell me its mainly around town rides and risky on the out of town roads where i usually think risky around town and safer on the main roads
Thanks Warro. I LOVED this video. Ducati Diavel, like you I have had 'hundreds' of bikes. (I am 66) My 2 cents, if you want it just buy it. And sell it sometime down the road. It is/looks FAST. TOO FAST. It is a ZOOM ZOOM bike. Will you/can you keep your licence??? This IS the problem. A REAL PROBLEM. - Your call. How much will you LOSE on resale? I just bought a Indian Scout Bobber Twenty because I could. (21K) (And I have 4 others) I know where you are coming from. At the end of the day it is Your call. Good luck.
yeah i really can see trouble if i go in that direction. at least when i buy the odd watch i can see the time but maybe not the value...lol and cause no real damage. in fact last time i got done for speeding was in 1973 i sold that bike within a month and never went near another bike for 40 years. if that happened again i'd be 112 when i ride again...lol
nothing wrong with the classic 350 i saw a clip a few days back where a guy was going from a 350 to a 500 you know what julia roberts said.......lol i might do a clip on that
I really enjoyed the clip (and I watched it all). Followed a few thought trains I have had. Sad about the Supercub - I thought it looked fabulous and totally got why you bought it. Regarding Ducati, if it's anything like the Ducati 800 Scrambler I had, it will be totally useless on dirt (worst bike I ever rode). Not much scope for DIY servicing too. Here's a thought: Honda website now shows GB350C as available in Oz (but extra $1000). However colour seems to be a gloss metallic black, so it could look nice - as opposed to the rattle-can colours of the standard GB350. See what you think. Also I think the latest Vespa has slightly bigger and more powerful motor. Might be worth a look.
yeah i had good intention with the supercub but i have no real regrets on its purchase. gave me a trip back in time feel so that was good. i took it on a longer road run about 120 klm. was out on it for 3.5 hours. in the end i was riding one of the main roads home and at one stage had 5 cars behind me on a slight hill. double lines so no passing but the one right behind me took the chance and overtook me and then cut in close to get back over after that incident i thought if id been on the 350's the 20 hp would have been enough to get me out of this. so i decided then ive had my run and its better for some-one else who know how to use it in the right situation.....thats not me...lol all the best!
@@ridewithwarro Totally agree. The issue with small bikes is not freeways, it's single lane main roads where vehicles get stuck behind you and can't pass safely - yet there isn't an opportunity either for you to pull over because they are right up your clacker.
@@ridewithwarro Bottom line: in traffic on a single lane 100km/h main road, you need a bike that can sit on 105-110, without wringing its neck. 20hp seems to be the minimum for that.
@@andrewgreen6060or at least one that can hold 100 kph period. either way i did enjoy the cub experience over the two week period so for some-one who want a good nimble around town runner its pretty good there
hey warro... you change bikes more often than i change my underpants........ here in uk yamaha do the xsr125 retro looking thing... beautifull looking bike... apparently the indonesian market get the exact same bike in 155cc with 19.2 bhp... would be quite nimble as its a light small bike... id love to see you trying one of those out im not familliar with aussie bike sizes.. but you are a lot closer than the uk as regards to getting one... it could be the bike for you........
155cc at 20 hp would work. im not sure on the model but next time im at the yamaha dealer i will ask. xmax 300 is only 400 klm off first service all the best.
Warro I started riding last year, my first bike was a 10hp cb125f, it lasted 248kms and I sold it for a GB350 20.8 hp. I understand exactly why you flipped the super cub.
if you put off road tyres on the gb350 and add a 13t front sprocket you'll be very surprised where you can ride that bike very well behaved on dirt and its only real issue for me is its erratic fueling jerky-ness when cold for first few minutes over-all a pretty good bike in all areas
@ thanks for the tip warro. I e held back on the 13 tooth front sprocket because in Sydney I need long legs on the motorway and don’t want to shorten my gears. I like its broad legs and torque in 2nd and 3rd. Also warro those gb350 bikes are pretty special, they are made in Hondas Kumamoto plant in Japan, their premium production facility, they have a cult following over there and a very very well made and respected bike. I’ve got 2k kms now and not sick of it at all
when i had it i was thinking for $13500 if i take it dirt road running which sooner or later all my bikes do...lol if something goes pear shape and i dent that steel frame -its gonna be expensive. i had two other minor issues. one the 6.5 litre tank. way too small and two every time i came back from a run and parked it pressure built up in the fuel tank and the valve started to bleed air out like it was burping. very loud too. hear it 40 feet away i rectified that by pulling the valve out and refitting the overflow line. apart from that no issues. ran great take into account too when i bought mine in white i wanted orange. one month later they were selling them in orange...lo
That's for sure! lol i wouldn't say its been a picnic buying 72 brand new bikes over past 12 years. so you could say some good times and plenty of bad.
yeah i think the bike will thank me for it after that dirt road run. it was a really rough track indeed so no picnic. don't think id be that keen to take a heavier bike down same track or it might not end well...lol
Thanks for the interesting ride and chat Warro, I'm 67, and agree the Ducati will bring problems. My ride around is a Suzuki EN125, and for trips a KLR650. I find your choices of 350cc very tempting, kind regards
this gb350 is really a pretty good bike but a disappointing colour. i could understand if they were $3000..lol but close on $8000 so i feel they could do a lot better. in this clip it hit 80 kph on that dirt section and it was pretty loose stuff. great tyres and easy to handle bike. very well behave but from cold not nice on the fueling side till it warms up cheers
The Super Cub’s forte was looking pretty. The original, with the leading link front suspension, was much more practical, and a better proposition off tar sealed roads.
I'm 65. I'd like a Diavalo too. But I'd also like to get to your age😂😂. Like Clint Eastwood said, a man has to know his limitations. I think you have the camera and mic spot on and I enjoy the talk and ride format. You're doing great. I have a question if you don't mind, I remember you upgraded the rear shocks on the RE 350 with 500 shocks. What's your long term opinion now? Thanks.
i sold that enfield with the 500 shocks on which i think were pretty good. only reason i sold them with shocks on as i was too lazy to take them off. now on this red/chrome 350 it is stock but i added motoz tractionator adventure tyres and just doing that i think it rides as good or better than the bike i put the 500 shocks on. only real drawback it probably rose about an inch on the 350 seat height. either way happy with the tyre swap. yeah buying the bike i think is really not an issue but if something went wrong i bet most would say he should have known better...lol cant complain as i had some pretty quick cars so cant win them all. told the eldest daughter too and she said its time i grew up so hard to win eh...lol but either way i think i have finally got the audio right to ride and talk and that cost zero...lol all the best!
I had a 90's CT110 US Postie Bike (10 years ago ), great for local runs up to about 20miles but anything further , no thanks . Also had a C70 back in the late 70's because I couldn't afford anything else . When you hit a hill they're torture and also dangerous on fast roads where the traffic is constantly overtaking you . A 350 is now the smallest cc I'd go .Currently have a Bullet Trials 500 ( Green Frame ) and a 450 Himalayan . Happy Christmas Cobba.
Nice ride today. Thanks for the video. I do like the content where you ride and tell your current thought’s and plans. Also, the stories you share from life are great. Funny, the dialog with your wife.😂
glad you enjoyed it. i may do more of these. today i was mainly checking on audio which i think came out pretty good considering i was running along on the bike up to 100 kph. wife is good for the odd laugh i must admit all the best!
My first bike was a Honda CT90 when I was 15.... Now in my 60's, I bought a CT110, maybe to recapture a bit of youth! Nope, rode it for 100 kilometres, then got rid of it.. Oh, your wife is a smart woman, you should listen to her!
hard to listen to the mrs. she saves i spend ...lol yeah what you had as a kid was ok then but when you revisit its more hard times...lol all the best!
A few months ago you realy rated the honda cb12tf, that only had 10 bhp! Since my 1st bike in 1965, my best allrounders were 1988 honda transalp, and 2004 honda Deauville.
i did and still do and hares why. the 125f has a clutch. my honda grom which i still have has a clutch. both are 125cc i bought in the super cub to actually run against the grom. one day i rode both bikes back to back. my thoughts...party over for the cub both would easily beat up the super cub in a good long run. near impossible to beat a bike with clutch compared to semi auto in a very low powered machine
Hi Warro, there are occasionally times when the wife knows what’s best and we should listen. Maybe an Indian Scout Classic would be a better bike for a 70 year old wanting a bit more power rather than getting a Ducati Diavel with 120 odd kW at 11000 RPM. Neither are going to go well with off road tires on a dirt track.😂 Look forward to whatever you decide.
yeah well i must admit she sort of got excited when she say the price...lol its steep but not compared to cars. anyway i think id see trouble coming and ive already had one trip back in time with the supercub...lol all the best
i recovered my $6000 outlay on the supercub but when i was buying the mt450 that may not have worked out too good. hard to say but overall they are highly rated bikes for not much money
Absolutely heartbroken Warro! Was really looking forward to the supercub adventures but alas no more! It is definitely not built for dirt either in Japan or anywhere else. It's a city bike. Please for the love of God, don't paint the Honda! Just leave it. Between you & me, I've been seriously contemplating looking at the Triumph 400X Scrambler! I'm taking one for a test ride first thing 2025! It just comes across as a versatile all-rounder. I'm actually infatuated. Green is my favourite. Please look at one of these! All the best for 2025 Warro! Cheers Edit: Ducati Diavel! The 'devil' Absolute monster if a bike! Incredibly expensive & a bit of a back breaker. Its way too forward leaning. Edit2. You should look at the 650 classic too!
yeah i was going to put off road tyres on the supercub and as of now its back to being a city runner. it might surprise you how good that gb350 would look if i get to it with a rattle can....lol 400x or speed.nice looking bikes. i really don't need another bike but....lol all the best
Australia may get the new colours of the Honda GB350s, Mud Grey & a light blue/white, we are getting it for the first time in UK & Europe next year , plus there is the Kawasaki W230 225cc single is out in Japan now, the rest of the world gets it the end of 2025.
two interesting colours thats for sure compared to what we have here now. colours aside over-all its not a bad bike really. see how well it handled the loose gravel road on this clip up to 80 kph. im on off road tyres but again its pretty stable. good bike!
Much the same thoughts re the super cub. Love the blue sky !! From a damp and gloomy old London Town Have a great 2025 everyone. (Still waiting for my mud grey GB350 ) . take care all
yeah ive seen photos of that grey which i think is still better than matte blue or black. colour aside these gb350 can take hard rides on dirt as my history clips show. clocked 3000 klm on this now and its done lots and lots of dirt
I would avoid anything over complicated and exotic. Tank range is another critical away from towns. Something that will do 200kph easily is not being pushed at 100. Start with the engine layout you like most. For me it's a V twin but it's entirely personal. Terrible image quality short of my 1999 HD FXDL that isn't for sale anyway.
I would wait & research the Honda GB 500 coming out soon that uses same engine as the CL 500 Scrambler which is another bike to look at Warro.I reckon they're worth a look for you can get the CL 500 now & Gb 500 be out next year. CF Moto do a 450 ADV bike now too they're pretty good apparently but resale value be low. Suzuki apparently re-releasing the Drz 400 road Registered bike which is a Legendary Status bike & handle the dirt no problems & Quick & light 39-40hp 37-38Nm but they use to only have a 10L tank & new one's might be 6-7L tank but you can get a aftermarket tank from Acerbis from 15L-17L-20L. My mate had the Drz 650 with 10L tank & had to carry 5L tank on rear rack & box.I told HIM about Acerbis large tanks & he got the 20L.I reckon the 15 or 17L looked better & personally would of got the 17L but the 20L tank gave him 380km range with 1-1.5L left in tank.
Warro, sorry mate your wife is right! stick with lighter more manageable machines that's where the fun is to be found, I have seven bikes and the one I go to is usually the lightest most nimble one so in 2025 I can see me releasing maybe five machines and adding a Maxi Scooter.
well a good all round scooter is the xmax. ive had 4 of those. vespa is nice but i feel its also needs to be looked after much more if one wants to keep it in mint condition. steel against plastic...lol she may be right too. hard to say...lol either way she bit pretty quick...lol
@@ridewithwarro I'm hoping the Zontes 368G is coming to the UK it looks very sharp with all the modern tech, if its as good as my current Zontes T350T2 I'll be very happy as I don't have China phobia.
For a lot of people, an old bike or car is a passport to the past. Unfortunately the past is a different country, and we can never return. There are a few motorcycles I'd like to return to, but like an old sweetheart I know the intervening years will have changed us both too much, and it'll spoil the memories and the present.
how true are those words. spot on there!
My dad asked if she’d looked at her birth certificate lately.😂
not a bad one there. i like it. all the best!
The word for remembering the past and thinking it was a better time is called presentism. Seeing the past through our current mindset. I enjoy looking at 70s model cars, but the reality is they were hard to start, heavy and cumbersome, and prone to rust. Today are tomorrow's best of times. Cheers, mate.
good way to put it.
Cheers, mate.
believe it or not i was going to buy a zero before i was side tracked on the super cub.
plus its good to know you are not one of the 3 minute marvels...lol
pretty happy with the audio too. not voice over actual ride footage up to 100 kph
all the best!
@@ridewithwarro I think you've found the sweet spot for audio. I like how there's a slight hint of engine noise underneath, but with a crisp voice over the top. Well done.
Would not dismiss the Guerrilla 450 got 7000 kms on my one and i don't feel the vibrant is that bad think you should take a for a test ride 😉
Cheers ✔️ 🍻
i may actually give that idea some thought. might watch a few clips on it and go from there. what are the vibes like in the footpegs at 95 to 100 kph
@ridewithwarro just watching the reveilla Diavel v 4 very cool 😎 yes the vibrant is not there or i can not feel it it 40 hp
Cheers
The Super Cub looks more style over function. Surprised you kept it so long. The GB 350 is now available in the UK in metalic black. I'd get your tank professionally sprayed, wouldn't cost much. Great bike. Nice ride, cheers.
yeah i don't care that much about painting the bike as ive sprayed lots of cars. prices are pretty expensive here in oz. bare metal respray on a car $25,000 so the son told me....lol
he has an early model holden torana
only an idea at the moment as i have a fair bit on my mind
all the best!
We get black here also but the blue in Australia looks great
There are white GB350s starting to appear at dealers in Australia now. They look really nice! Still pretty happy with my denim blue GB350.
yeah if i get too bored next month i might get a bit rattle can happy...lol the xmax i painted in blue came out really nice but i forgot what colour i used...lol
Hi Warro
Glad you are more on the negative than plus for the Ducati.
Cheers
Brian
thanks, great to hear you enjoyed it. no shortage of sunlight here with average temp in low 20's to say 30c
was a bit windy on this ride in fact pretty strong. audio came out fine so that was a plus.
first run out the video was useless so i had to ride it twice...lol
tried nd filters on the gopro and they cut the corners liking looking through an old tv clip on someone looking through binoculars.lol
all the best!
2025 might be a year of change for the channel and i can get it into top gear...lol
all the best!
Regards Ollie
i actually like the scooter experience and find the xmax 300 has enough power to get it moving along ok.
plus you have quite a few choices out there in that size bikes. in fact we both have. more to come
all the best!
Keep on making them clips mate, I enjoy the craik and the scenery 👍
all the best your way too. clip wise i think i have the audio under control judging by this. now to set the video up better and i think i will go into next year on rides and talk.
something different and add a bit of story telling to keep it interesting.
cheers
Enjoyed that thanks Warro.
Glad you enjoyed it. im working on doing more ride and talks in 2025. audio now under control. next the video and such and ready to go.
i think i can put it together so nothing to lose..lol
all the best!
Did you loose on it ? If it dose not gave the enjoyment you were searching than sell it. As long as you are happy, that is what counts. Another Honda, maybe a 500 ?
nothing really about $150 bucks. i recall 5 or 6 years back when i bought the new triumph scrambler 900 and rode it just 300 klm i lost roughly $5000...lol
hard to say what will happen on the bikes.
at the moment im working on the audio ride side which i think ive got under control. next the video and id like to do more ride and talks for 2025.
thats my plan as i do get sick of buying motorcycles.
you know 6 new bikes per year over past 12 years i think is a bit too much...lol and a total waste of good cash.
so i might try a new approach for 2025 and see if i can improve the channel presentation side
Hi Warro,
Have you ever considered trying out a Can Am Ryker or Spyder? I know that neither is a motorcycle, and can't really replace a motorcycle, but they look like they would be fun to ride. (I've never had the opportunity to ride one.) A Ryker Rally might be just the ticket when you get bored with the 5 motorcycles you already have. Thank you for the video!
a few years back like about 5 one was for sale about 100 miles away. i actually rang the guy to take a look and he said sorry...deposit taken.
that was my only real experience on a can-am hit
@@ridewithwarro
I have a Can Am Ryker Rally, they are Truly GREAT.
It is a keeper.
@@tpv59 interesting bikes for sure
im 72 and have a few bikes, love the small bore bikes. also yamaha YX 600, V-Max 1200 and Goldwing .i know your on top and can have whatever anytime.get that Ducati and review the hell out of it..enjoy your videos
I'd love to review the Ducati, but my wife says no...lol
Another great video WArro. Your comment about the Quick finishers had me in stitches. Like controlling your speed it is all in the wrist action. 🤪🤪🤪
don't be concerned...your control was extremely good and it was great to see you complete the clip. many have good intentions and try but i believe their failure rate is over 90%
so when you see the click count per clip you'll know 9 out of 10 lost their power to perform
all the best!
Hi Warro, there is a bloke in the UK who rides a MV Brutale 750 his channel is called, Old bloke on a Ducati. you may find him interesting. Anyway thanks for the videos and a happy new year,
Cheers
Baz
i might just take a look. thanks for the info
I think the Suzuki is not a bad bike, good for the roads of Australia.
yeah im not much of a rider so in reality a ducati would be of no use to me just to look at.
in fact it would probably remind me of when i had the lotus elise factory supercharged job
it was far too rough to ride in and hard to get in and out of too. saying that the 2 daughters drove it more than me...lol so they actually enjoyed the purchase
Definitely ride it first tho and a good long test ride most important.
wife has been reading the comments...lol not good news there. she actually asked me what do i think my bikes are worth sale side.
i asked why?
she replied just in case i have to sell them shortly.
it appears there is a no confidence vote here in the land of orange...lol
to;ld the eldest daughter who is getting on and pushing 40. i might buy a ducatu
she replied ...wake up!
now the younger one who is highly strung is in japan on a xmas holiday. plan to stay well clear of her she gets excited quick...lol
On a Ducati Devil i´d die like a fly but if your nosey go and just try one who knows mabe you are 30 at heart and your loved one will look at you as a hero😄, just don´t change gear because 1st gear goes more than the speed limit in Australia😄😄Cheers and all the best for you and your family🌲🌲🌲
thanks for the info. gee i went close to buying a beverly 400. i was going to rotate between it and the xmax 300
they had them on special for $11k which was $2000 off new price of $13k but only colour was matte black
then the supercub came along and that ended that.
didn't know they made a 500 so it must run pretty sweet.
i actually like scooters. never liked them once but i do now. twist and go very hard to beat
all the best!
People would love to see you getting off a nice bike - itd make em feel younger.
Go for it
yeah but it could also make them feel jealous...lol i know that side from my porsche/lotus bmw and more car days.
as a rule they'd much prefer to see some-one doing it tough rather than an easy buy ...lol
anyway i will be buying a bike but i dont know which bike...lol
all the best!
Suggestion: Bonneville T100 or Speed Twin 900 according to your preference.
both nice bikes
Have you considered the Honda CL500, Warro? I think it's a great looking bike. 46HP and a scrambler, so it should handle dirty roads pretty well and have some punch.
We picked up my husband's new cfmoto 450MT last week. He loves it. 😊
not actually looked at one of those cl500. in fact never saw one up close. by the way i think your husband got a pretty good bike in the 450 mt for a very fair price.
Well, I watched it to the end Warro!!🤣
Few points, how does the GB350 compare to the Classic 350 in terms of acceleration and top speed, about the same?🤔
Again on the GB350, have you thought about having the paintwork wrapped instead of painted, probably a lot cheaper and can be removed if you sell it. With the right person wrapping it you wouldn't tell the difference.🤔
The Guerilla 450 - cracking bike for the money and far better than the Triumph 400 I've ridden. Mine has 2700 miles on the clock and I don't notice any vibration at any speed, I've also had 3 Classic 350s and the vibration level is no difference. The only thing I'd say about the Guerilla is that it likes revs (goes like shit off a shovel) and will vibrate if in too higher gear at too lower speed - it's about adjusting your riding style and being in the right gear, suggest you take an extended road test to get a proper feel of it, nice and light too.👍
The Ducati, hmm, you're right about reaction times, I'm 67 and know mine aren't what they used to be. There is also the weight to consider, again, as we get older our leg muscles ain't what they used to be.
We've all made mistakes in buying bikes. I was seduced by the looks of the Monkey Bike when it hit the UK shores and immediately bought one, worst bike I've ever owned, kept it 6 weeks and traded it back in and lost a grand in the process.☹️
Anyway, enough of my waffle, look forward to seeing what you decide on.🤔🙂👍
if you had tried HARDER you could have scored in the under 3 minute cat...lol but saying that its good to know you can go the distance.
both bikes are pretty close. i think gb350 wins on pickup to 100 kph and then the classic would get it.
if i decide to paint i think i could paint it pretty cheap and much cheaper here than someone would wrap it.
next time out on the guerilla let me know what its like in the bars and pegs at 60 mph or 5 mph either side.
ducati side. i actually had a mazda mx5 turbo putting out 350 rwhp -top speed 275 kph and never spun the wheels once during 8 years of ownership so $40k on a powerful bike might be just a waste of cash...lol
since this idea sprung to mind others have said the worries you had with the vespa is nothing compared to if you buy that...lol
anyway wife said no. i take no notice of her negatives but i may this time...lol
all the best!
@ridewithwarro will do Warro, hopefully out on the Guerilla tomorrow weather permitting.🙂👍
Interesting what you said about painting your GB350, I am looking at buying one and I plan on painting it red once I know I am happy to keep it long term.
well if you look at the indian hiness version which in reality is this bike. parts sent to japan and assembled there NOT made in japan ...just assembled...lol
anyway their colours are pretty good. on the other hand our colours are pretty bad.
now i wonder who was the thunder brain who said ...give 'em them cool colours...lol
so it looks like i might have to paint it myself. if you look back several clip i painted a brand new xmax blue. lots of work. this one not much...lol
(I am 66)
My 2 cents, if you want it just buy it.
(21K) (And I have 4 others)
I know where you are coming from.
Stay with what you've got Warro, I'm 73 and I'm happy with my 350 classic Stay safe my friend.
nothing wrong with the classic 350 i saw a clip a few days back where a guy was going from a 350 to a 500
you know what julia roberts said.......lol
i might do a clip on that
I really enjoyed the clip (and I watched it all).
Might be worth a look.
yeah i had good intention with the supercub but i have no real regrets on its purchase.
gave me a trip back in time feel so that was good.
i took it on a longer road run about 120 klm. was out on it for 3.5 hours.
in the end i was riding one of the main roads home and at one stage had 5 cars behind me on a slight hill. double lines so no passing but the one right behind me took the chance and overtook me and then cut in close to get back over
after that incident i thought if id been on the 350's the 20 hp would have been enough to get me out of this.
so i decided then ive had my run and its better for some-one else who know how to use it in the right situation.....thats not me...lol
all the best!
@@ridewithwarro Totally agree. The issue with small bikes is not freeways, it's single lane main roads where vehicles get stuck behind you and can't pass safely - yet there isn't an opportunity either for you to pull over because they are right up your clacker.
@@andrewgreen6060 makes one a bit on the nervous side too...lol
155cc at 20 hp would work. im not sure on the model but next time im at the yamaha dealer i will ask. xmax 300 is only 400 klm off first service
all the best.
Warro I started riding last year, my first bike was a 10hp cb125f, it lasted 248kms and I sold it for a GB350 20.8 hp. I understand exactly why you flipped the super cub.
if you put off road tyres on the gb350 and add a 13t front sprocket you'll be very surprised where you can ride that bike
very well behaved on dirt and its only real issue for me is its erratic fueling jerky-ness when cold for first few minutes
over-all a pretty good bike in all areas
@ thanks for the tip warro. I e held back on the 13 tooth front sprocket because in Sydney I need long legs on the motorway and don’t want to shorten my gears. I like its broad legs and torque in 2nd and 3rd.
Also warro those gb350 bikes are pretty special, they are made in Hondas Kumamoto plant in Japan, their premium production facility, they have a cult following over there and a very very well made and respected bike. I’ve got 2k kms now and not sick of it at all
@@coreys8070 great to hear your enjoying the gb350 experience. great bike and they run well.
can see your point on the 13t front
cheers
Hi matey regarding the VESPA GTS 300 you had was there any reason to sell it and get the 2024 XMAX 300.
Thanks.
when i had it i was thinking for $13500 if i take it dirt road running which sooner or later all my bikes do...lol if something goes pear shape and i dent that steel frame -its gonna be expensive.
i had two other minor issues. one the 6.5 litre tank. way too small and two every time i came back from a run and parked it pressure built up in the fuel tank and the valve started to bleed air out like it was burping.
very loud too. hear it 40 feet away
i rectified that by pulling the valve out and refitting the overflow line.
apart from that no issues. ran great
take into account too when i bought mine in white i wanted orange. one month later they were selling them in orange...lo
Ha! I'm riding 8hp at the moment 😂
How about a Moto Guzzi V7 or V85?
never actually seen a guzzi up close. nearest dealer is roughly a 500 klm round trip. then again so are the other more interesting bike suppliers
The cub would be perfect if a guy lived in town and wanted to go to the post office.
perfect for sure or just sealed road riding but i just cant help it. even today i saw that dirt road and off we go...lol
So many bikes, so little time. :)
That's for sure! lol i wouldn't say its been a picnic buying 72 brand new bikes over past 12 years. so you could say some good times and plenty of bad.
What a shame to sell the legend super cub
yeah i think the bike will thank me for it after that dirt road run. it was a really rough track indeed so no picnic.
don't think id be that keen to take a heavier bike down same track or it might not end well...lol
Thanks for the interesting ride and chat Warro, I'm 67, and agree the Ducati will bring problems. My ride around is a Suzuki EN125, and for trips a KLR650. I find your choices of 350cc very tempting, kind regards
this gb350 is really a pretty good bike but a disappointing colour. i could understand if they were $3000..lol but close on $8000 so i feel they could do a lot better.
in this clip it hit 80 kph on that dirt section and it was pretty loose stuff. great tyres and easy to handle bike.
very well behave but from cold not nice on the fueling side till it warms up
cheers
Oh you're talking about that Ducati Diavel, I dislike the way those look, it's $$$$$, I don't think they sell many, I've never seen one!
yeah they are a bit pricey. plus im thinking way more power than i can handle. somedays 20 hp is enough....lol
The Super Cub’s forte was looking pretty. The original, with the leading link front suspension, was much more practical, and a better proposition off tar sealed roads.
yeah your probably right there. had a bit of fun while i had it but i think the new owner will enjoy it far more
Thanks.
i sold that enfield with the 500 shocks on which i think were pretty good. only reason i sold them with shocks on as i was too lazy to take them off.
now on this red/chrome 350 it is stock but i added motoz tractionator adventure tyres and just doing that i think it rides as good or better than the bike i put the 500 shocks on.
only real drawback it probably rose about an inch on the 350 seat height.
either way happy with the tyre swap.
yeah buying the bike i think is really not an issue but if something went wrong i bet most would say he should have known better...lol
cant complain as i had some pretty quick cars so cant win them all.
told the eldest daughter too and she said its time i grew up so hard to win eh...lol
but either way i think i have finally got the audio right to ride and talk and that cost zero...lol
all the best!
@ridewithwarro thanks again
Happy Christmas Cobba.
great to hear on your assortment of bikes. all the best!
Nice ride today. Thanks for the video. I do like the content where you ride and tell your current thought’s and plans. Also, the stories you share from life are great. Funny, the dialog with your wife.😂
glad you enjoyed it. i may do more of these. today i was mainly checking on audio which i think came out pretty good considering i was running along on the bike up to 100 kph.
wife is good for the odd laugh i must admit
all the best!
My first bike was a Honda CT90 when I was 15.... Now in my 60's, I bought a CT110, maybe to recapture a bit of youth! Nope, rode it for 100 kilometres, then got rid of it.. Oh, your wife is a smart woman, you should listen to her!
hard to listen to the mrs. she saves i spend ...lol yeah what you had as a kid was ok then but when you revisit its more hard times...lol
all the best!
A few months ago you realy rated the honda cb12tf, that only had 10 bhp! Since my 1st bike in 1965, my best allrounders were 1988 honda transalp, and 2004 honda Deauville.
i did and still do and hares why. the 125f has a clutch. my honda grom which i still have has a clutch. both are 125cc
i bought in the super cub to actually run against the grom. one day i rode both bikes back to back.
my thoughts...party over for the cub
both would easily beat up the super cub in a good long run.
near impossible to beat a bike with clutch compared to semi auto in a very low powered machine
Just get the Ducati haha, personally I'd think how cool is that, a 70 year on a Diavel!!
yeah i dont know if i could be trusted with it or how long i'd last....lol
Yeah, fair enough I hear ya'.
Hi Warro, there are occasionally times when the wife knows what’s best and we should listen. Maybe an Indian Scout Classic would be a better bike for a 70 year old wanting a bit more power rather than getting a Ducati Diavel with 120 odd kW at 11000 RPM. Neither are going to go well with off road tires on a dirt track.😂 Look forward to whatever you decide.
yeah well i must admit she sort of got excited when she say the price...lol its steep but not compared to cars.
anyway i think id see trouble coming and ive already had one trip back in time with the supercub...lol
all the best
Tried an MT450. I'm 175cm, and found the distance between the seat and footpegs to be very cramped.
i recovered my $6000 outlay on the supercub but when i was buying the mt450 that may not have worked out too good.
hard to say but overall they are highly rated bikes for not much money
Cheers
Edit: Ducati Diavel! The 'devil' Absolute monster if a bike! Incredibly expensive & a bit of a back breaker. Its way too forward leaning.
Edit2. You should look at the 650 classic too!
yeah i was going to put off road tyres on the supercub and as of now its back to being a city runner. it might surprise you how good that gb350 would look if i get to it with a rattle can....lol
400x or speed.nice looking bikes.
i really don't need another bike but....lol
all the best
Australia may get the new colours of the Honda GB350s, Mud Grey & a light blue/white, we are getting it for the first time in UK & Europe next year , plus there is the Kawasaki W230 225cc single is out in Japan now, the rest of the world gets it the end of 2025.
I heard a rumour that RE were going to drop the 450cc engine into the Hunter & fix up the rear suspension..
two interesting colours thats for sure compared to what we have here now. colours aside over-all its not a bad bike really.
see how well it handled the loose gravel road on this clip up to 80 kph. im on off road tyres but again its pretty stable.
Terrible image quality short of my 1999 HD FXDL that isn't for sale anyway.
fair enough. all the best!!
You do like going down those back roads & onto the dirt & the Supercub got little wheels no good on the dirt or gravel.
you would not believe how rough that road was in the thumbnail. plus steep too. on one part i was going to get off and walk it out in first...lol
@ridewithwarro Dain Tree 🌳 lost in NZ down South somewhere near Wakasomethingarather HE said.I think 🤔 HE likes it here,HE might end up overstaying🤣.
Would like to see you with the cl500 too
Why don't you buy a Zontes 368G adventure scooter !!!!!!!!
dont think they sell them here. never seen one. all the best!
@ridewithwarro New model for 2025
Warro, sorry mate your wife is right! stick with lighter more manageable machines that's where the fun is to be found, I have seven bikes and the one I go to is usually the lightest most nimble one so in 2025 I can see me releasing maybe five machines and adding a Maxi Scooter.
well a good all round scooter is the xmax. ive had 4 of those. vespa is nice but i feel its also needs to be looked after much more if one wants to keep it in mint condition.
steel against plastic...lol
she may be right too. hard to say...lol either way she bit pretty quick...lol
@@ridewithwarro I'm hoping the Zontes 368G is coming to the UK it looks very sharp with all the modern tech, if its as good as my current Zontes T350T2 I'll be very happy as I don't have China phobia.
You get bored quickly don't yer mate? 😂
wife only said that this morning. you never keep anything. im thinking i got you in 85 and your still here...lol
all the best!
@@ridewithwarro Wives are REALLY expensive to get rid of!! Been there, done that - too many times! Then you have to train a new one... 🤣🤣
@@ridewithwarro hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
