Ranking Records: Fountains of Wayne

This may by far be the toughest ranking I've had to do. FOW has made five great studio LPs and I'm more here to make sure that you give a listen to each and every one of them.

I was so lucky as a 12 year old to have by chance been sent in '96 from Columbia House, their debut and was curious enough to listen to it. I couldn't stop for a year at least. Instant fan.

Like your ranking order, I'd bump sky full of holes up a spot or two because of someone's going to break your heart and a dip in the ocean. My copy has the Moody's cover as well 😊. T&W is their weakest for me but I still love I95 as well.

Hi Mike. Pleased to see you feature one of my faves FOW. Hard to disagree with your ranking although I might place Utopia Parkway #1. Very sad about Adam’s passing. Hope Chris continues with his Look Park project, loved the debut. In case you don’t already know singer on “That Thing You Do” song Mike Viola has stellar output with his band Candy Butchers and solo, do check him out. Cheers! / Matt

Comedian Sarah Silverman was close friends with Adam Schlesinger. She has given some details about Schlesinger’s passing in interviews. He called her up as soon as he got sick.

(Past..... FoW were NOMINated for two Grammy’s, but didn’t win, however, Adam won a Grammy for work he did for the Colbert Report).
