At first you might think this is the citizens of Eorzea asking why they must suffer this horrible fate? IE The Garlean's and their attempt to use Dalmude for conquest. Or that line "Mired by a plague of doubt, the land, she mourns" could be interpetrated as how the land suffers irreparable harm each and every time a Primal is summoned, corrupting not just the land, but the summoner themselves... sometimes... (honestly it seems a bit inconsistent as we saw with Shiva's followers and Ramu.) But now you realize that this is more referring to the Ascians, specifically the sundered souls of the Ascians who have been reborn time and time again, and made to suffer and strive, when in a past life they had everything they could want and more.
"We are the stories we tell ourselves. The brave hero, the tortured soul, the altruist, the pragmatist. They will tell you who they see, but you and you alone know who you are. For I speak only for myself. If you find comfort in my words, they are yours for the taking, but that is your choice. Now and ever after, as it has always been." the fact that all these dark knight lines technically come from our own subconscious just makes them extra personal.

In all honesty, I was scared when I clicked on this, Answer is one of the most important piece of music in my life. It means more to me than anything else. Final Fantasy XIV means more to me than any video games ever did. While I firmly believe that the original song just can never be replicated in emotion and meaning, this cover is magnificent. As a fan of metal and the original piece, I was not disappointed. It was well worth the 7 minutes watch.

So I just discovered this absolute gem on Skar's Spotify account. My brain literally exploded. Especially when I heard Kristin's voice. This is one of the most epic songs of any entertainment property or genre. FFXIV has so much amazing music its insane.

Aye. When I heard "Answers" I couldn't help but notice that - but for the relatively lean arrangement - the song could easily be a Holopainen-style metal opera. 'Tis good to hear that people are trying to make it happen in full.
I have listened to the original time and again and each time it gets my emotions riled up. It means so much to me, this song. It reminds me of a simpler time, a time without the shadows in my life. The fact your version does the same just shows how serious you took this and the long wait (I don't know anymore when you first mentioned it) and it is everything I could have imagined, nay, it is more than I could have imagined. You got the perfect people onboard for this. And your vocals were over the top, I never heard you sing like this before (at least I can't think of any piece right now)

I just came from a very long day at work and saw this popping out in my recommendations. I consider this song to be untouchable and the best piece of music ever made for a video game. I had unrealistically high expectations. And holy damn. It shook me to my core. I knew from the very first few piano notes that this would be an experience. It would be disrespectful to call this only amazing. It was unbelievable, and if I didn't know the original, you could have told me that this cover was the original in the game and I would have believed it. You are a bunch of incredibly talented performers. Out of this world, I wasn't expecting that today. Thank you for that bundle of emotions !

Nine months later and this is still a solid 10/10 banger, ARR may not be as good as the expansions but this is one of the best pieces of "content" we've gotten from it without a shred of a doubt!
Answers was the song I played over and over again for myself and my kiddo fighting n for his life in the NICU. It’s his favorite song being 2 almost 3and still recovering from it. I hum answers to him every night before he falls asleep if he’s able to that night. Thank you for making this cover.

Honestly the first minute with just Skar and the piano is my favorite part, it's absolutely beautiful. Such a good voice, such a good expression of emotion in voice and body language. Completely sold and drew me in to what he was singing, so captivating. The lyrics also fit FF16 so extremely well even though it wasn't written for it. Fantastically done! Begging somehow for a 7 minute length of that part Skar! Pleeasseee. It would make for such a good soundtrack for cinematic short of FF16!

I have some insight on the issue too so I would like to say some things you might benefit from: if you are in a very dark place you may feel that everything is static and you can't finđ the power to do anything - there are actually brief moments in there where your ability switches momentarily for the better. Notice these moments. When they occur, do anything, things you like or chores, just to keep yourself active. You may notice that your visits to the dark place become shorter. Sounds simple but can give you great results. Also, if you are into self-help stuff, Acceptance and commitment (ACT) therapy books provide practices that can be not just helpful for depression but also mind-opening in general. Brighter days for you.

Badass cover, absolutely love it. Only one little thing, though: that last little clip at the end turns this into a video I can't show some friends who haven't made it to Endwalker yet for spoiler reasons, which is a damned shame.
My favorite was - I created a pugilist named So'Nuff was helped out by a more experienced player who created a toon named Leroy Green to run with me. :) - followed by the 10th anniversary message which came about a month after my best friend died, he was one of the die hard faithful who paid for ver. 1 and believed, believed so hard in the game.
I'm convinced this song is impossible to make bad. I have listened to countless covers and not a single one is bad. But this one just hits so amazingly that it really deserves to be picked out of the crowd and praised for how well it handles such an amazing song.
Pure chills from listening to this! My gosh the five of you put so move love and passion into this cover and it really paid off. I've listened to so many covers of this song, but this one just hits so much harder. The biggest and most pleasant surprise was hearing Ariah and Bard ov Asgard lending their incredible vocal talents to the chorus. Hearing Myuu's vocals during the piano sections was really a treat! Of course, Skar and Kristen absolutely killed it on vocals. I love this cover and thank you to everyone who leant their time and talents to making this come to life!

Aye. When I heard "Answers" I couldn't help but notice that - but for the relatively lean arrangement - the song could easily be a Holopainen-style metal opera. 'Tis good to hear that people are trying to make it happen in full.
This gave me chills..
I have listened to the original time and again and each time it gets my emotions riled up. It means so much to me, this song. It reminds me of a simpler time, a time without the shadows in my life.
The fact your version does the same just shows how serious you took this and the long wait (I don't know anymore when you first mentioned it) and it is everything I could have imagined, nay, it is more than I could have imagined. You got the perfect people onboard for this.
And your vocals were over the top, I never heard you sing like this before (at least I can't think of any piece right now)

I just came from a very long day at work and saw this popping out in my recommendations. I consider this song to be untouchable and the best piece of music ever made for a video game. I had unrealistically high expectations.
And holy damn. It shook me to my core. I knew from the very first few piano notes that this would be an experience. It would be disrespectful to call this only amazing. It was unbelievable, and if I didn't know the original, you could have told me that this cover was the original in the game and I would have believed it.

Answers was the song I played over and over again for myself and my kiddo fighting n for his life in the NICU. It’s his favorite song being 2 almost 3and still recovering from it. I hum answers to him every night before he falls asleep if he’s able to that night. Thank you for making this cover.

Honestly the first minute with just Skar and the piano is my favorite part, it's absolutely beautiful. Such a good voice, such a good expression of emotion in voice and body language. Completely sold and drew me in to what he was singing, so captivating. The lyrics also fit FF16 so extremely well even though it wasn't written for it. Fantastically done! Begging somehow for a 7 minute length of that part Skar! Pleeasseee. It would make for such a good soundtrack for cinematic short of FF16!

I have some insight on the issue too so I would like to say some things you might benefit from: if you are in a very dark place you may feel that everything is static and you can't finđ the power to do anything - there are actually brief moments in there where your ability switches momentarily for the better. Notice these moments. When they occur, do anything, things you like or chores, just to keep yourself active. You may notice that your visits to the dark place become shorter. Sounds simple but can give you great results.
Also, if you are into self-help stuff, Acceptance and commitment (ACT) therapy books provide practices that can be not just helpful for depression but also mind-opening in general. Brighter days for you.

Pure chills from listening to this! My gosh the five of you put so move love and passion into this cover and it really paid off. I've listened to so many covers of this song, but this one just hits so much harder. The biggest and most pleasant surprise was hearing Ariah and Bard ov Asgard lending their incredible vocal talents to the chorus. Hearing Myuu's vocals during the piano sections was really a treat! Of course, Skar and Kristen absolutely killed it on vocals. I love this cover and thank you to everyone who leant their time and talents to making this come to life!
