Finally convincing my brother to play the game with me, was the best part for me.
The entirety of Shadowbringers has a dear spot in my heart&mind
I've played since ARR launched, and it has been a stable source of comfort in what has been the most difficult decade in my life so far. Too many favourite moments to list just one or a few.
Personally, my favorite part was FF14. Not a single moment let me down, and it has all the right touches and pieces of a great book or movie.
Thanks so much for having me aboard on this project!! 💜 The amount of love poured into this masterpiece really shows and it's such a pleasure to be a part of it.

I met my wife on FF14. I am from Canada and she is from the UK. We now live togther, we are married and we have two beautiful children after we had to fight through it all to be able to be together. Thank you for the song it means so much to me and touches my heart a lot.
I met my wife on FFXIV as well. She is American and I am Dutch. It will be 10 years since we met next month. Still play FFXIV and this song will never not bring a tear to my eye!

God. I love Zenos so much for that ending. What an antagonist.
My WoL is canonically a Sky Pirate in the Skies of Arcadia 'Blue Rogue' style - a swashbuckling seeker of Adventure, treasure, and discovery beyond every new horizon. So when Zenos called him out for seeking adventure for its own sake, well... "That, I can't deny."
I'll say it until the day I die: Zenos is one of the most quotable motherfuckers in all of fiction and every single line he says is character writing gold

And Venat had the longest walk of all.
Quite possibly the greatest line in the entire game.
Song is 10 years old, and it still brings a tear to the eye.

"Our souls have been torn, and our bodies have been forsaken," God that line hits so hard when you realize the meaning behind it. Such an amazing rendition of this legendary song, amazing work to everyone involved.
"Mired by a plague of doubt, the Land, she mourns" hits hard as well I feel with the added context
@@DJtheEmoPirate Indeed. Like, I enjoy the fact that the song has a few different connections and ideas that players can draw from, especially as they go through the story.
At first you might think this is the citizens of Eorzea asking why they must suffer this horrible fate? IE The Garlean's and their attempt to use Dalmude for conquest.
Or that line "Mired by a plague of doubt, the land, she mourns" could be interpetrated as how the land suffers irreparable harm each and every time a Primal is summoned, corrupting not just the land, but the summoner themselves... sometimes... (honestly it seems a bit inconsistent as we saw with Shiva's followers and Ramu.)
But now you realize that this is more referring to the Ascians, specifically the sundered souls of the Ascians who have been reborn time and time again, and made to suffer and strive, when in a past life they had everything they could want and more.
In all honesty, I was scared when I clicked on this, Answer is one of the most important piece of music in my life. It means more to me than anything else. Final Fantasy XIV means more to me than any video games ever did. While I firmly believe that the original song just can never be replicated in emotion and meaning, this cover is magnificent. As a fan of metal and the original piece, I was not disappointed. It was well worth the 7 minutes watch.
In typical "Answers' fashion, a few tears were shed. It's okay, they were definitely metal tears. My eyeballs are now rust. Worth it. Amazing cover and video.

the fact that all these dark knight lines technically come from our own subconscious just makes them extra personal.

I have listened to the original time and again and each time it gets my emotions riled up. It means so much to me, this song. It reminds me of a simpler time, a time without the shadows in my life.
The fact your version does the same just shows how serious you took this and the long wait (I don't know anymore when you first mentioned it) and it is everything I could have imagined, nay, it is more than I could have imagined. You got the perfect people onboard for this.
And your vocals were over the top, I never heard you sing like this before (at least I can't think of any piece right now)

I just came from a very long day at work and saw this popping out in my recommendations. I consider this song to be untouchable and the best piece of music ever made for a video game. I had unrealistically high expectations.
And holy damn. It shook me to my core. I knew from the very first few piano notes that this would be an experience. It would be disrespectful to call this only amazing. It was unbelievable, and if I didn't know the original, you could have told me that this cover was the original in the game and I would have believed it.
You are a bunch of incredibly talented performers. Out of this world, I wasn't expecting that today. Thank you for that bundle of emotions !

That piano intro gave me the most epic chills ever. And then it just kept getting better the longer I listened. Answers was already my favorite song from the game, and you just blew it out of the flippin water.

Honestly the first minute with just Skar and the piano is my favorite part, it's absolutely beautiful. Such a good voice, such a good expression of emotion in voice and body language. Completely sold and drew me in to what he was singing, so captivating. The lyrics also fit FF16 so extremely well even though it wasn't written for it. Fantastically done! Begging somehow for a 7 minute length of that part Skar! Pleeasseee. It would make for such a good soundtrack for cinematic short of FF16!
I want to say thank you for putting this song out. I was in a dark place this past weekend and this came on my playlist. It saved my life I was going to do something I couldn't come back from. Thank you all involved you saved my life I'm forever grateful.

I have some insight on the issue too so I would like to say some things you might benefit from: if you are in a very dark place you may feel that everything is static and you can't finđ the power to do anything - there are actually brief moments in there where your ability switches momentarily for the better. Notice these moments. When they occur, do anything, things you like or chores, just to keep yourself active. You may notice that your visits to the dark place become shorter. Sounds simple but can give you great results.
Also, if you are into self-help stuff, Acceptance and commitment (ACT) therapy books provide practices that can be not just helpful for depression but also mind-opening in general. Brighter days for you.
This is such a transcendent piece. It continues to amaze me how they've been able to continually expand on this for 10 years, adding new context to the lyrics and making it so central to one of the best stories I have ever experienced in my life.

Pure chills from listening to this! My gosh the five of you put so move love and passion into this cover and it really paid off. I've listened to so many covers of this song, but this one just hits so much harder. The biggest and most pleasant surprise was hearing Ariah and Bard ov Asgard lending their incredible vocal talents to the chorus. Hearing Myuu's vocals during the piano sections was really a treat! Of course, Skar and Kristen absolutely killed it on vocals. I love this cover and thank you to everyone who leant their time and talents to making this come to life!

I'm convinced this song is impossible to make bad. I have listened to countless covers and not a single one is bad. But this one just hits so amazingly that it really deserves to be picked out of the crowd and praised for how well it handles such an amazing song.

This is a very special song when it comes to FFXIV, it endcapped two different eras of the game and it was the perfect song to do so. Sadly, the next era likely won't end with it because Bahamut and Venat are no longer important to the plot. Whatever comes next will be something completely new and we can only hope it ends on a song just as if not even _more_ epic.

Secondly for @mattwosrandomnoncontent I think that the song will remain to the first story arc of the game is a very good thing. I am sure we will hear snippets of it in the new story and we are all gonna crack when we do 😅 I personally wouldn’t want it to be reused and rather let’s get a new one and let that grow over the next story arc.
Much as I love Yoshi-P, I'd much rather hear what Soken would say, especially clearly being metalhead with the work he's done for the game with The Primals.

But I kinda have the feeling that we will most likely hear stuff like that from YoshiP as he simply is the face of FFXIV, I'd simply woulc love to hear some kind of reactiion to this astonishing work by Skar and the Team as a whole who made it possible that we were able to listen to their work.@@Ashgrom
@@Ashgrom Don't forget he also listened to Husky's version of the EW Theme and hired Hyadain to do a new lyrical remix of Battle With the Four Fiends Forged In Crimson. Which was used as Rubicante's boss theme.

Answers was the song I played over and over again for myself and my kiddo fighting n for his life in the NICU. It’s his favorite song being 2 almost 3and still recovering from it. I hum answers to him every night before he falls asleep if he’s able to that night. Thank you for making this cover.

Ok, so when I watched this at the premiere, I thought it absolutely rocked, but I was analyzing it too much to fully enjoy. But viewing it again today, my head just exploded, and I had to try really hard not to rock out in the office. This really is a masterpiece. The second verse especially gave me chills: the guitar lick in in the interlude; the way the chords and the vocals intertwined in perfect harmony; the way Skar went full throttle on the vocals, then Kristin bringing into the drop *smh*. Bravo, everyone. Thank you for putting so much love and skill into these covers. May you ever walk in the light of the Crystal.
Uematsu is a genius, and he has an excellent successor at Square with Soken.
this song kills me every time. everytime i hear it i go "oh no not again" cause i cry and wail like a baby. it just hits deep specially when you have the cutscene during endwalker of *spoiler* walking through the streets while everything was burning. i picture that vividly everytime when i hear this song. congratz you got me crying again. excellent job everybody.
