Hi. I am also coming to the end of my Psychology undergraduate degree and I would like to teach sixth-form/a-level students. I am not so interested in teaching secondary school, but instead post-16 years. However, I have a few questions. Will the SCITT and PGCE you did allow you to teach sixth form? What about a QTS - will that allow you to teach sixth form years? I hope to hearing from you soon. Thank you!

I know from the comments that you have explained it clearly but I'm just around 50 steps behind. It's scary knowing how much you need to do....the amount of work that goes into this is insane!!
Hello Ruby, it does feel scary but you have your whole future ahead of you. This doesn’t all happen at once. You just stick in with your GCSE’s then take it from there. You’ll be fine. I start my teacher training in September. I’m sure you will make a great teacher ☺️ good luck!

Ryan Faulkner as you are training watch the teachers you are with look for subtle things they do for behaviour management as well as the big stuff. Where do they stand, do they stop talking, do they look at certain children? Lots of behaviour management stuff is subtle. :)
Display Lady thank you ma’am and I will do that! When I do training I’m going to look for that. For now as a high school student I’m going to continue to do really well and I’m going to try and learn some behavior management from my teachers so I’ll know more too!! My teacher understands and let’s me do that everyday of school!

GCSEs are student exams in the uk which are typically for 15-16 year old that everyone is expected to complete, they are in English, maths, science and subjects that you choose. You can take GCSEs at any time in your life but after the default age they will cost money to sit the exam. You normally do them part time as you teach it won’t really impact your ability to get a teaching job. It possibly would help for headship they do have specific leadership type masters to help you make that step also so it’s by no means the only option. :)
