Pretty much Jake made a whole video making fun of Ethan for being overly concerned about his own health(something a lot of people with anxiety do). It was super super hypocritical. He went to doctors to ask if it was possible for Ethan the have the disease he claimed. Jake continued to talk as if he himself was a doctor. It was so soo soooo weird.

That Puss in Boots video was actually the very video that made me finally unsubscribe from this guy. I was getting annoyed by his content already, but that video was completely unnecessary, bordering on nit-picking, and quite frankly pretty insulting considering how fantastic the movie that was being promoted turned out to be. The only "breadtuber" worth watching is D'Angelo Wallace, and that's because he actually brings new perspectives into the conversation and doesn't consider himself an "activist" just because he is making youtube videos.

Honestly, this is a really good video. I’ve always had a problem with most breadtubers (even as a leftist), because most of them have the most boring, most barebones videos where it really is just them saying the most obvious or random things and passing it off as actual criticism and rhetoric that is vaguely from the left
I tried watching this awhile ago but as soon as I heard D’angelo being compared to nickisnotgreen I closed the video ngl. Now after the whole H3 fiasco I can say you were 100% right about Jake. I’m still a little hung up on the D’angelo comment though 😂
Personally I'm not a fan of D'Angelo, but comparing him to Nick isn't accurate now. Though to be fair I wrote this before Nick's lies regarding the Super Mega drama were out there.

Criticizing the skit for talking about death is so strange to me. Out of all the positions I'd expect a left-wing RUclipsr to take, taking the side of the sanctimonious media puritans we saw in the 80s (the "won't someone think of the children!" sort of people) was one of the last positions I'd expect him to take. Like, that's the sort of stuff conservatives are stereotyped as being like.

I’ve heard the phrase breadtubers so many times and never knew the definition. Thanks to you I now have a name to put to the type of people I hate on RUclips haha. I followed all of those people at some point i the past so I must’ve seen something appealing in them. But over time I’ve unfollowed all of them (which I rarely do) after I finally get sick enough of seeing their freaking faces ALL over my recommended and NEVER feeling encouraged to click on their content…on the rare occasion his content seems worth dealing with him to get informed, I am instantly reminded that this man has hit the life lottery by getting paid to do this shit

I've only watched his videos about Shane Dawson and I think he's very entertaining in those. I'm not very impressed with the clips of his other videos shown here though. It's too bad that people like this always seem to fall into the hypocrisy of making the same kind of jokes and assumptions they condemn when it's directed at someone they don't like.

did you even watch the video? the only time rob mentioned reaction content was when describing the kind of content jake is known for. rob’s critique’s are about specific parts about his content, not about the content genre. just skip to 9:26 where rob explains what he’s criticizing & you’ll see that he doesn’t mention the word “reaction” a single time

Im gonna say, I partly agree AND disagree with you. Specifically, I disagree with the first half and fully agree on the second halve.
Is he far-left? No, I don’t think so. Nothing alludes to that, if anything, he’s the average progressive on a surface level look.
Is his comedy unfunny? That definitely varies from person to person, but looking at full-length videos he tends to go for satirical or referential jokes, which made the “he states bad thing is bad” comment weird when he usually mocks or redoes things hyperbolically in the same way a creator like drew gooden would do… if he had thirty seconds to come up with the joke. however? is he unfunny? not objectively, I actually don’t think it’s that bad.
Is he a hypocrite? Yes and no. For the entirety of the orange peanut section, making baseless assumptions (like most commentary RUclipsrs) to get a cheap joke for a cheap topic says a lot about both orange peanut and jake, as well as their style of content and how it should be received. So, yes. However, I went back to watch that “puss in boots” video you mentioned, I’m confused? The only thing he states is making fun of the CGI, overall context surrounding the branding deal, but not ALL brand deals. Just ones that are fitting. It’s a less intense hypocrisy than you framed, definitely not worth all those names you called him for the sake of it.
Lastly, your perception of his content highly depends on how you view ethicality and commentary content/whether it is transformative or not. 🤷♂️ it’s a different topic but definitely one to bring up later.
Update: I saw the update video and I definitely hold different views on Jake now, I agree more-so with the points brought up with this video. I won't be changing the comment since I have to be accountable for my blunders, but now I do agree. My only complaint was your use of the r slur in your update video, and a lot of unneeded comments/cheap shots that make baseless assumptions. Claiming to be against albeism yet liking comments that tell people to grow up when you use a slur for those groups without recontextualizing it or understanding the context is pretty ignorant, which makes me think you're not so different from Jake.

The ‘retarded’ Rob used was more or less used in the same context of calling somebody an idiot or dumbass if you will. Plus, there was no extra mention of pointing out that person’s mental health, so I don’t think he used it in a derogatory or bigoted way, personally of course.

I'd even go as far to say that she's not as bad as Jake in terms of persona. I don't like her, but still.
